Now Switched to Dexron ATF in the Gearbox. Clutch was "slipping" too much with the Standard Gear Oil. Steve uses it in his bikes so we are going that way. Make sure the Mineral Oil in the Bar reservoir is topped off. Too little and the bite point moves. We haver the Frame guard and Exhaust plastics. Brake side needs cutting to fit as does the Exhaust guard where the exhaust is too close to the bash plate on the Kick start side. Kehin settings are a pain. We are using the standard settings from Steve but Andy at Pennine did a great job sorting them out although it is still a bit rich on Pilot.

Mainly the Plastics. Initial 2002 versions had Metallic red with Yellow and silver flashes. 2003 were grey with red and yellow. Basically the colours matched those of the same year Rev3

Just had an Email from Duke saying that they do not have the rights to produce it this year. Anybody any clues as to who does. They seem to be keeping it close to their chest which given it is getting close to Christmas is not good marketing.

The 12 was pretty soft but the 13? No that had power to spare as does the 14

He did have a couple in September but I do not know about now. A 2012 300 could be the answer. They did not have the "snap" of the 2013 and 2014 models and would be a little cheaper. Make sure the Swing arm is the newer reinforced one however.

Chris has the 2014 300. It does have Power to burn. The 250 is a gently beast so I would start there.

I can tell you it is certainly lighter than a 2011 GasGas and a 2014 Sherco When I lift it onto the Bike Rack!

The One on the Gas Gas 300 we had was I think a Regina. It has smaller rollers than most so RK and Renthal links don't fit.

I would change the chain to an RK one. Lasts a lot longer than the "light" chain Gas Gas specify.

I Know that the official Sherco kit is late in this year. There is another maker getting there product in now so maybe look at that?

There are a number of ready made Vans like this. Look up "Crew Cabs". Vito's Transporters and the Trafic/Vivaro/Primastar all have them factory built.

Generally over here they do split them into the Wheel/power sizes. They also run a set of rules that usually allow for Mums/Dads to "assist" but for a three. Generally I would ring OSET and speak to Dave Horne who should be able to give you pointers as he has been Organising OSET Trials since very nearly the start and will be able to help.

Steve Saunders does come up this way every now and again. His next session for Spen Valley members is already fully booked however. BUMPY in Birstall near Leeds do instruction on Trials Bikes. Give them a ring and see what they can do. The Dougie Lampkin School is usually held in August Near Silsden and is popular. Again you will have to wait until 2014. Apart from that the ACU did have some Instructors listed but they appear to be buried in their site again.

Given that a few locals have bought the Future Racing bike with a cost rumoured to be double that I'd say it's not that daft a price.

Chris was happy initially with the bars but we may go for Renthal ones later. Haven't noticed the Tensioner but we do run at 4 PSI in Yorkshire so I will have to see what happens. I'll have to look at the Radiator guard and see where the problem is. It hasn't done anything yet. I have put some transparent covering on the exhaust where the foot part is as it marks the aluminium bit but that happened on the Gas Gas as well. As for frame guards I may well use some if they are around. We have a Kehin so that has gone on and it "improves" the power output. We also use the Domino dual compound red/black grips with the wire grooves and wire them tight. Tried PM ing you GG249UK but it seems you cannot receive messages.

My Son was reminiscing the other day about winning his Youth class on 90-120 with the Trial Winner on 25-40. And we are talking Ben Hemingway class riders there. The ideal I was told when we started was your winner on a 36-45 section Trial should be about 20. That was back in the early 2000's. I'd also say that if you have a 12 section Trial 3 should be taking marks off your best riders and 3 should be able to be cleaned by everybody. Then just make the other challenging but not dangerous with regard to who you think is going to turn up. These Days we are seeing a Very Easy course, Easy course and Medium difficultly course with a Super Hard variation on the top course for the Good riders.

Generally use NGK Iridium. Not had any problems unless the bike has one.

I only saw a complaint against one Trial this year so that comment seems to be grasping at straws along with b40rt's. I did attend the first day of the World Trial at Penrith and I would not consider that a "success". Either on crowd numbers or as a "No-Stop" event.

They ran rough shod over the Trials Committee when they decided to go "No-Stop" so they are not going to let failure stop them!

I think you'll find it's mainly the weight. Yes the engine will be stronger and probably less peaky but the main thing is that weight has been reduced and moved to where it benefits riding.

We used IRC for a couple of years but found they didn't hold air as well as the Michelin. Other than that they were pretty good. The other tyres tend to be pretty "hard". Good for wear but not for competing. Dunlop did have a tyre that SSDT competitors swore by as it never deflated, punctured or came off the rim. Not so good for Normal Trials though. I gather that the latest Dunlop is not as good as that one was.

Sherco and GasGas are both running test days soon. Gas Gas At Hawks Nest and Sherco near Pateley Bridge. SXS are looking at running one at Parkwood 4x4 at Tong Near Bradford for Jotagas but it is not confirmed as yet. I do know a dealer that will let you try or even borrow a Beta but Beta as yet haven't got a test day booked anywhere.
