I'd use the Bike Importers websites to identify the shops closest to where you are staying and get in touch via email just to see if they have the items you want. Then you can work out how to get there.

Despite the bad press they can be quite good little bikes. I think they are the best "Auto" of those available. The problem is many end up as "field" bikes with owners who do not look after them and they become difficult to start, have little in the way of replacement parts etc. Then they just end up on the scrap heap. Get a good one maintained by someone who knows what they are doing and you have few problems. One lad round these parts has one and his family are well into Trials. The bike is a peach and he can easily start it on his own. Yes the OSET is a good starter but they do not run forever and you do need to move across.

So Called "Charity" events don't run like that. In the case of some they will not even look at you unless you can bring in a "Set" amount before the Event even starts. That Allows them to get roads closed along with the "guilt" factor. A "commercial" event is seen as a Cash cow however even if it does bring in Tourists and other money.

My Son is on his third pair of SIDI boots. He will not entertain the Alpinestars as too many soles seem to come off. We sold the first pair, We still use the second pair for practice and the third pair the grip on the bottom is just starting to go after three years.

The 2010 has the Original Tubular frame not the updated one on the 2013. The differences will be marginal so it depends how "good" a price the 2010 is going for.

ACU is not "No-Stop". At club and centre level the centres and clubs are free to use either. I suspect most AMCA run No Stop but again they can run the rules they prefer.

Young lad did the hard course today at BUMPY on a SW Evo and did really well. Once they get the hang of them the size allows them to work the bike as an adult would a bigger bike.

Easily the driving force behind the loss of sales to the farming community is the Quad bike. Let's face it MX bikes aren't seen on the road and you do not see many Enduro's either so the loss of road sales is a bit of a red herring. Back in OTF's day you adapted a road bike hence nobody actually SOLD you a Trials bike. This continued until the 60's when dedicated Trials machines began to appear for sale. Even then there were factory specials. The mass market really appeared in the 70's and gathered pace until the early 2000's. Since the "Mortgage" crisis and the effects of over taxing the "working" classes, (by which I mean those of us who PAYE), The markets for "leisure" machines has been squeezed. It's not helped by the choice of Machines increasing either. This means the price of a "ready" made Trials bike has increased as prices for parts perversely keep going up. Rules are rules they make no difference. The Cost of competing is the problem. Where Older bikes have an advantage is that many parts are available cheaper than Modern ones or that they can be more easily worked on by the amateur. So long as riders keep turning up to some Trials then they will eventually when the squeeze is off begin to find the time and money to come back and buy more new bikes and compete more. It's coming but we will have to hang on.

The rule on "touching" a marker does not exist. The Wording is that the Observer most have to replace the marker/support before the passage of another rider. That applies to both the markers of the Course they are on as well as any other marker for other courses. Hence "touching" does not constitute a failure. the section is worded the same in the TSR22A Stop and TSR22B No Stop sections of the ACU Handbook. The FIM may have a different definition but is does not apply to ACU events.

A 250 is for sale in the UK as well. Looks like it hasn't done much either.

How many Centres are running "No-Stop" only Trials. Not Many. The Yorkshire Centre continues to hold out but to be honest I don't think any Centre around it runs "No Stop" at any level. Many tried it but reverted back to Stop. Makes the ACU and FIM look out of touch.

The Cadet/Rookie is tough to find second hand. There are a few but you could have to wait a while. The REV/EVO50 would be more plentiful and at 10 years old Your daughter should be able to ride one pretty well. I'd just have a look at what is available and then get the best of that bunch.

Generally you can get what is known as a "Yamaha" one from any Trials shop. Wiring it in would be another problem. I'd have a look at another Beta and see where the wires go. I suspect they will be taped up somewhere under the tank.

You can buy Inexpensive new items like Askew Boots and Helmets can be pretty cheap. Have a Look at TrialsUK in Horsforth, RAS Sport In Brighouse, Aklams in Harrogate and Pennine Trialsport just off Saddleworth Moor. Craig's Motorcycles in Dewsbury and Keighley are also Trials Dealers. Woosters on the A64 do also carry some gear and when they have it it is usually cheap. Other than that ask around and see if anybodys selling anything you think would be ok.

Eddie Atkin in Sedgefield sells various Bikes so should carry the Kit as well. Otherwise Acklams in Harrogate, TrialsUK in Horsforth, Pennine Trialsport On Saddleworth Moor and RAS Sport in Brighouse. Feetup In Scarborough only seem to deal online these days but they could be worth a call.

Personally it's down to How the rider feels with the Bike. The better they like it the better they ride. Now At Gas Gas Ross was one of the Crowd. At Jotagas he is the main rider. That could be what is helping him now. Also there is the "quality fade" problem where the rider just gets jaded riding the same bike every year and as they say "A change is as good as...".

Happens even to the best of them. Ripon's first round this year had to be moved and the conditions certainly didn't help but it has put off a lad I know from going back. He decided to give the second round a miss and practiced at Tong instead. Trouble is when a few New riders go along and don't come back.

Maybe but Sales of "Yamaha" Kill Switches should improve this year!!

We have an Ohlins from 2006 that has been moved from bike to bike and is currently on a 2011 Pro. I believe that you would need to check the fittings but it could be possible.
