July 5, 201313 yr Author After working on my workshop extension I rode my gas gas around the yard. walked into the house to make a cup of tea and looked at my engineless ty 175.
July 10, 201313 yr Preped bike for trial tonight . Going into clubmans class tonight see if i can demolish some sections with the bike . Engine fall out the TY ship , and roll off down a hill into some brambles , then some scrap men ran in and nicked it ? Wheres it gone ? Have put my 245 for sale , want a van . Ted
July 12, 201313 yr Author Hi Ted - the ty engine is with my mate mark who is a brilliant engineer. he is putting right all of the wrongs that have been inflicted on it since 1976. I have been doing the same with the rolling chassis. its not being 'restored' just repaired, so it can be a reliable as it can be. hope that your trial went well matey. those little connect vans look good for everyday use and getting a bike in the back..............

July 31, 201313 yr Author fitted my apico bendy levers as recommended by matey Ted. Lovely bit of kit and highly recommended to you all. also changed the cheese philips head screws on the master cylinder covers for countersunk black alen head bolts from local bolt shop. 10p a piece and they wont mash up when trying to undo them (tried and tested on enduro bikes)
July 31, 201313 yr Author Cleaned my air filter, air box, and carb. Wowzers those things can get dirty. dont forget to grease the rim of the filter zipster ;-]
July 31, 201313 yr Author Had mine stolen. ... :-( Oh no; thats a gary glitter (sh*tter) - hope you have some good news in finding the bike - f*ck*rs.
August 1, 201313 yr dont forget to grease the rim of the filter zipster ;-] makes a better seal that way! trimmed 3/16 off each end of the handlebars and installed new grips. Doesn't sound like much, but made a big difference in whether or not my wrists ache.
August 2, 201313 yr Today I fitted: the V-mar carb adapter. made connecting the air box and the carb ten times easier and more secure. http://www.vmar.com/carb.html V-mar Plastic Chain guide/tensioner I just like them better than the standard rubber ones. V-mar 15mm bar risers. These made a big improvement on riding position, this made a great bike just a bit better. I took a quick buzz around the yard and over my logs. Just made it more comfortable/easier to ride for my back. (sorry if my post appears to be an advert for V-mar...............oh and speedy delivery as well 2 days.) Edited August 2, 201313 yr by zippy
August 2, 201313 yr Cleaned air filter, fitted new tank breather pipe ( broke the old one) and still waiting for my front wheel to be respoked so i can put it back on.... my continuing efforts to master throttle control resulted in multiple impacts needing repair ! I have noticed the bike seems to do better without me on and keeps going really well until it hits something - usually a hedge or a tree.....
