The engine needs to be rotating to change gears. To test, you must rotate the flywheel (or rear wheel) by hand while you operate the gear lever.

Hi, did you have any luck in sourcing these seals? I have the same problem on my 2001 txt 250 with Hebo calipers F&R. The calipers are not too bad, but I could do with some pistons and seals. All the best

"Shorting out on points cover". I sent my bike to two garages. Neither could sort it out. Finally I was looking at the engine when I noticed a little black mark on the inside of the points cover. It was arcing across to the cover and shorting out,

After a bit more research (picking brains) it seems most likely to be for a 248 Cota. Surplus to requirements, so if you need one please drop me a line.

Birkett Motorsport is close to you if you are still in Lancashire. He was the importer for Ossa and might be able to help you. You could read some of the posts in the Ossa section regarding this subject. You will have to do some digging from posts that are years old but it is what i did and over came the problems i had.

I had a brief ride with a cable tie holding the PRB lever in a bit. As near as I could get to the right spot appeared to provide some "engine braking" but it also put a dead zone into the throttle movement. One click more on the cable tie and there was about 90 degrees of throttle movement before anything happened. All this was done on a sloping field. I didn't venture into anything resembling a section. However the result was sufficiently encouraging to persuade me to go the next step with a potentiometer wired in. The parts have come so I'll be doing that over the next few days and then I'll go out for a little ride and decide whether I can live with dead zone.

In all likelihood there will be more then one capacitor involved, the big one connected to the fuel pump acts like a battery and would almost certainly be dedicated to the fuel pump which is the highest draw on the alternator.

I machined a keihin to 32.30mm to fit it into a remanufactured pipe. The original dellorto is 31mm. It fits without forcing. A quick dremel work to pop the pipe lug and remove the shoulder due to the original 26 diameter. I will test Josep Banyeres' sleeve to adapt the airbox. Otherwise I will install a TRS sleeve.
