I'm 10 rides in on my 2023 EM pure race. I live and ride the steep trail geography in the mountains. However, I'm already needing more power for certain features (very, very steep rock pitches). The EM can't maintain the velocity required - it slows (bogs) on these few features. I thought to change the front and rear sprocket ratio to gain low end power, but on evaluation its already fitted with an 11 tooth front and 57 tooth rear - does this leave anywhere to go on this front? Can anyone think of a way to coax more grunt out of the bike? It feels like a way heaver flywheel might do something - if I could spool it up but I don't think that's really an option either. Than…

The missus has just bought a 2021 Epure race. We had a nice day testing it yesterday and she seems keen enough to keep it and sell her Beta. The big yes-no decision is to ride it in a trial proper rather than just on a practice ground. We have just tried to sign up for a trial and the machine details page needs a CC and engine stroke. I remember that ACU said electric bikes can now be entered into the normal trials but the electric motor has neither a cc nor a stroke. What do other people put in? (Clearly you can make up nonsense if you want but the results will show Electric Motion 250cc or some drivel which is not really "right") She very kindly let me ri…

I just rode a 2022 (mine) and a 2023 EPure Race back-to-back. The shock on the 2023 seemed a little more active and lively. I'd love to upgrade, but I wanted to start by trying to adjust my shock. Has anyone else played with adjustments on the 2022? Any recommendations? (specifically to try to get closer to the Reiger feel)

A friend has a 22 Epure and the battery status is stuck at 0%. The bike works and appears to charge OK. Is there a way to reset or calibrate? Does anyone know how this works? Is it a simple voltage measurement used to estimate % charge?

In a moment of madness I decided to pull apart the rear suspension of my '21 ePure Race. Not surprisingly I found a few seized bearings, namely one of the dog bone ends and the lower end of the rear shock. Poor things, living on a diet of mud and water with the occasional bit of dust thrown in. Two questions really, so hopefully someone can prevent me from making any silly mistakes. I thought the whole rear suspension came from Sherco, but the dog bone bearings I found on the internet are plain teflon bushes and the EM bearings are needle rollers. Are they unique to EM, or am I looking in the wrong place? The dog bone bearings are a seriously tight fit an…

For those interested, I have built a website devoted to Electric Motion trials bikes. I intend it as a give-back for all the things I've learned via the internet over the years. There is no advertising or commercial content. https://www.electricmotiontech.com/home Edit: Forgot to mention there's a very effective search tool built into the website - just use the magnifying glass at the upper right-hand corner.

The map indicator light has stopped working on my '21 ePure Race. It became erratic a little while ago but then recovered. Now it's completely dead. I've cleaned the connector contacts and smeared with dielectric grease, but no joy. Has anyone else had the problem? How did you fix it?

Has anyone ridden the new '23 model back to back with a '22? There's some indication that the maps are significantly improved in terms of how fast the electric motor spins up and spins down. It seems like it may be slower, like they added some virtual rotational mass to the motor via the controller. This review (at minute 11:00) shows what appears to be a slower rev up and spin down of the electric motor, much like what I experience on my Gas Gas: I'm interested what the '23 is like relative to the '22, as I have struggled on my '22 Race with maintaining traction in loose conditions due the motor spinning up and down much more quickly as compared …

I know some of you might find this funny, given how much 'torque' is supposedly available for electric trials bikes, so bear with me. I'm just getting used to my new EM Pure Race 22, coming from a 2017 Montesa 4RT. I've owned many other brands as well, both 2 and 4 stroke. My initial observations riding the bike for a few hours, is the power comes on much more like a 2T, there isn't a lot of torque way down low, although for sure, there is *plenty* of power. I'm wondering if anyone has experimented with lowering the gearing a little bit more to try and obtain a bit more torque at the bottom end? Overall the bike is just amazing, I've been riding in mostly the Blu…

Has anyone upgraded their pre-2023 ePure with a Domino throttle? Was it easy to install? Any noticeable difference?

Not long had my 2022 ePure and have just arrived in Spain to give it a go, somewhat different to my back garden. I have the impression that the bike rolls on somewhat with the throttle closed, whereas in the garden, albeit very flat, I felt as though it always stopped. Is this normal? I did a decoder reset after being advised by a very useful YouTube video but it continues, and any sort of downslope requires braking. Second question is that I have an electric car and charge this with the public charge points some of which have a normal two pin socket, (I live in France), which my charger would fit. Would it be a safe way to recharge? Thanks.

Hi, I'm looking to buy a used Epure sport. The 2020 bikes are £1500 cheaper than the 2021 bikes. Was there much change from 2020 to 2021, all i can see is in reviews is the forks are better and there were small refinements to the power delivery on the 2021. Also is there a built-in hour meter or an indication of how many charge cycles it has done?

I'm tempted to buy a new 2022 EM and see they have a couple trials models. I have ridden an epure race and liked it but am not sure I would ever use the clutch. Has anyone ridden the other model with traction control? Is the traction control useful? I'm no beginner but no expert either?

I feel like this question may have been answered before, have searched all over and can't find an answer. I apologize if this has been addressed before. I think the 2020 models were the first ones with the available hydraulic clutch. Can this clutch be retrofitted to 2020+ models that did not have the clutch initially like the lite and the sport models? If so, how much should I expect something like this to set me back? I am very mechanically inclined so I would do the work myself. Thanks

Are there any technical specs on how the EM motor is controlled? Is the throttle just and adjustable resistor? Does that just go to some kind of standard industrial motor controller with programmable parameters? Or is there some type of computer in there as well like similar to a fly by wire gas powered street bike?

I have been reading through this forum as I think about getting a second dirt bike for myself to complement my KTM 200 2 stroke woods bike. I am hoping to get some feedback on what bikes I should consider from people with experience. I am a life long mountain bike rider that got into dirt bikes later in life when I was 30 (43 now). I love riding dirt bikes in the woods, have raced enduros and hare scrambles, and ride every chance I get. The difficult part is land access and distance to drive...and kids. I can ride out of my garage and hit a mountain bike trail, to ride dirt bikes I have to drive 1 hour when I get an invite to private property, so it's never up to…

I have a 2016 EM with the 3 position power switch as well as the handlebar map. So far I have been really impressed with the bike but the other day it lost a lot of power in the lower two power settings although it seemed OK in the highest setting. This did follow my granddaughter crashing it fairly heavily and burying the throttle. Finished the day out on the high setting. When I looked at it the wheel was rolling on the stand with the throttle closed on the highest setting but not the lower two. I adjusted the throttle to stop that, after taking the throttle to bits to make sure it was all ok and tried the bike very quickly and thought it seemed OK. Unfortunately t…
