Hi all, just come in from the shed..... my project TY175 forks, are not what they seem! The bottoms are from the TY range (probably ty175) but the fork stantions (Outside dia size are 46.5mm) do not have the standard screw thread fork cap tops they have instead a wire circlip and a plug. does any one know if any other fork legs will fit, or can I buy new stantions? from ABE? with oil in them they seemed very bouncy! I invested in some legs from a DT175 (early C model?) but the stantions are too short....plus I cant get the bolt loose from the bottom of one leg. No amount of swearing has budged it! I'm wondering whether to rechrome these legs and experiment with t…

I've got my TY250C coming apart for main bearings, seals & a rebore to 1st oversize & want to know is there any way to improve the action of the clutch while the engine is in bits. The basket & hub are in good shape but I found the clutch to have very narrow range of engagement almost like a lightswitch which is a problem when making full lock 180deg turns as found in modern clubmans sections Levers are domino trials & the cable is a new venhill, action is quite light so I don't see any problem there Any suggestions or is this how they are?

Hello, I just bought a standard piston kit for my ty 250 88, but after trying to fit it I realised it was too big the piston is 70mm, but the bore on my cylinder is 67mm is there anywhere that sells a 67mm piston? I can’t seem to find it anywhere thanks, Dan

Any pointers for the supply of ty250 mono spares in the uk? thinking of buying a project so doing a bit of homework first before I get in too deep... I assuming it’ll need most areas looked at and rebuilt at some point... engine, brakes, linkages, rear mudguard/ seat. The gear lever looks to have been welded to the shaft... how easy is it to remove/replace the gear selector shaft? Thanks in advance...

I received some images from a fella named "Ian Brown" (if you're on this forum Ian Hello!) My dad bought some manuals from him a year ago or so for his Honda Sealey. Crazy co-incidence is that our family and him have both a TY Majesty and a Honda Sealey, two relatively rare motorcycles especially the Sealeys. Anyway I thought some of his images from his restoration may be helpful to some on here! So I'v uploaded a couple of them to show the bike! *uploading new images* I think you'd agree this bike is "minted"! If you would like any more of specific places on the bike I might have then please PM me as he sent me lots of images on a CD!

Dear All, I am looking for help again! Could anbody tell me a good starting point for thr mixture screw on my Majesty 320, I have just fired her up after an extensive rebuild and she only seems happy with half to threequarters of a turn out, is this ok or should i start looking for an error in the rebuild? I am running a very strong (25-1) oil mix in the first tank full as the bike has not been run for 16 years but she did start second kick!

I am going to do a precationary top end rebuild on my new TY80 as there is a very sligth top end rattle. Presumably it will be pretty much the same as the one I done to my FS1E about 32 years ago! Are there any things I need to look out for? If it has been rebored will it normally be stamped on the barrel to say what size? I will be doing piston, rings, little end, gudgeon pin and circlips. Anything I have missed? How long does it need to be run in for?

Hi. Just tried taking swing arm bolt out on my yam ty 175 to put new foot pegs on. It's stuck! Tried a big g clamp to push it out while turning and tapping and she's stuck. Haynes say it's common and you can cut it out and replace with new one and bushes (£60 on eBay) Any other ideas to budge it?

I have just bought a second hand Sammy Miller silencer and some Boyesen reeds for my otherwise standard TY175. Has anyone else fitted similar and what changes did you have to make (if any) to the carb settings? Were any jetting changes required? Carbs are a dark art to me and any help will be greatly appreciated. Hopefully I'll be able to understand it.

Has anyone researched what the bearing and race #s are to upgrade to tapered bearings in the headstock of a ty250? If they are a common size that is available at a auto parts house I would not have to wait on shipping.

Iam going to apologise for this mail before I even start, but I've got ask. Todays the first time I've got to put some air in me tires. I did see when I bought the bike it had 2 valves per wheel but didn't think anything about it until now. Whats that about then and which one do i put the air in. I do feel ashamed asking but I've looked in me manual and on the net and cant find any aswers. Cheers Squid.

Hello to all. I 'll try and explain whats going on the best I can. I tried to get out to one of the spots that I like to play in. From my house to this particular place I have to use diddy little lanes and dirt tracks, lovely. Get to the junction just before me playground, bike stalls. Start bike 'its engine pitch has gone higher' pull away, 2 lurches, engine dies. Try this a few times all the same. So I sit in the grass and have a bit to eat and try again. Same thing ,but this time if I paddle along the engine picks up and Iam off. Iam gettin moisture coming out of the end of me exhaust also. Cheers Squid.
