A close friend has a BSA C15 (roadster) and a Triumph Tiger Cub (trials) that have been garaged for a little while and intends to dig them out soon, and i'm thinking on getting my first Pre-65 (BSA B40 ???), question is, now that 4-star petrol is no longer available ! What do you use/recommend ? Thanks. Gaff.

I'm about to start using a restored steel tank on my Norman and despite several thorough washouts, would like to minimize problems with any remaining debris...there is sure to be some! So, can anyone recommend a particular type or source for a good inline fuel filter that they have used? Many thanks

Am building a trials cub but am unfamiliar with these engines so need help with choice of carb ignition gearing etc With the 16/17t eng. sprockets do you have to use a split link in the primary chain or are endless chains available Std frame or one of the McDonald or other types of frame kit what do you all think of these anyway

I've got a question about sprockets. Now i've always believed that ideally you should have an odd number and an even number i.e. 11 tooth gearbox and 42 back wheel to ensure wear was more even on both sprockets. However the std combination is 11 gearbox 41 rear wheel. Wouldn't this wear the sprocket unevenly. Alternatively have i had it wrong all these years or doesn't it matter any more ?

I recently bought a BSA b40 trials bike "SS engine, distributer type it has Boyer electronic ignition fitted and came with a mk1 Amal carb which i think needs setting up proper, as it wont rev out and it backfires and spits the occasional flame, The plug shows heavy black deposits, I noticed tonight that the front pipe is going a bit purple colored. The carb has 622 with a 4 manually stamped over the last 2, making it 624, I measured the in and out at 24mm and the slide tube at 30mm, the float says 622 on it, the main jet is a 120, the needle jet is 106, the pilot jet is 25, the throttle slide is a 3 and has 622 stamped on, and the needle is on the middle groove.…

Hi , I hope some of you Tiger Cub Guru`s can help here. From running on idle, when asking for that initial burst of power, my friends Cub just hesitates, & has a serious flat spot. He stripped the carb to find out what jets were in there ; the carb is a amal 622 needle jet 106 main jet 100 slide cutaway 3 needle has no numbers but has two small rings round the top if that means anything Has anyone any idea`s or experience of this problem?

Hi Everybody I'm after a Villiers folding kickstart (to clear the trials footrest). I am told the way to go is to graft a Gas Gas folding section onto the Villiers splined boss. Can anyone outline the procedure and specify the Gas Gas kickstart to use? Many Thanks. Regards Sparks2

Hi everyone, I have recently got hold of a triumph 3TA twin engine basket case. This will eventualy be slotted into a royal enfield 250 crusader trials frame to make the popular TriField or Tri Enfield machine. Has anyone out there built one of these bikes, and if so what would be the best engine specification to go for - 350 or 500, There are a lot of tuning options from stock 350 to Daytona 500. etc Any info and advice greatly apreciated. Jon Summerfield.

Does anybody have any experience with these bikes? I have an opportunity to pick on up and would love any opinions. I would not use for trials but rather as a round town bike to run errands on. Cheers Jon

Bit of a long shot really, I'm in the process of making a Bantam from wheel fit into a pair of 4 bolt BSA forks. The spindle diameter is too small for the forks, I was wondering if anyone could tell me the bearing sizes and brake plate nut thread for a spindle that used the 4 bolt forks ?
