are we going to get a report on the action on day two at duluth, like we have had with all the other rounds? how was it, was it pretty much one sided? or was it a close battle between the top 5 or 6? where does that leave the series standings?

Just thought I'd start a thread where people could make suggestions for improvements which would make Hawkstone even better than it was last year. I know a lot of the organisers are on here, and I've no doubt if we have some valid suggestions they will make every effort to improve things. My first one, from an observers point of view would be to rope off the spectator area. Probably our biggest hassle of the day was stopping spectators coming round the back and ending up stood between the ends flags etc. Not particularly the spectators fault, it's natural to want to get a decent view. Maybe try to separate the sections a little more, if at all possible - Around 8,9,1…

It appears that Dibs and Beta have decided it's not worth going to compete in Japan. Strange scenario??? I appreciate the cost implications etc but surely as No1 factory rider they (Beta) want him to represent them in a good sized market for them..

Adam Raga stated after he won his first WTC, 01 in Goldendale, how Doug Lampkin helped him so much, always had the time to offer help in spite of them being competitors, and how if he ever became World champ he would want to be just like Doug. That all changed with the strike at the Spanish opener and not only was it a strike for most of the Spaniards, but some including Raga actually stood in the section trying to block Lampkin, Frexia, and the others from walking the damn sections! Now ever since, Raga keeps slighting Doug with comments how his Championship wasn't just, and how Tarres is the greatest, not Doug, because for one thing Tarres was a flashier rider Raga s…

Rumor has it that the FIM will make 4 strokes mandatory in the 2008 World Rounds, can anyone confirm this? If it's true, will we see 4t 125's from Sherco, GasGas & Beta any time soon? It's 6 months away and there's no talk about this, what gives? Curious in California

Who in the "F" decided that Guatemala should have a world round instead of the United States of America? With qualified and proven trials venues in America that have had incredibly positive reponse from the riders, someone decided that Guatemala should have a world round. That's about as smart as Jamaica holding a winter olympics. Hey, at least Jamaica has a bobsled team. Somebody tell me who or what trials is happening in Guatemala. What the hell do you think is going to happen when I get kicked out of a third world county venue? I'll never see America again... Oh wait, I get it now, nevermind. Now you're going to tell me that Ahlers headed the committe to have …

  10. Hi, I am planning on taking my lad down to Hawkstone 29/30 July... we missed last year We want to make the most of the weekend so if anyone has any advice I'd really appreciate it. What happens in the days before, anything happening worth going down on the 28th for ? What was the campsite like last year - suitable for me and a nine year old ? Anyone recommend a local/handy <mention of this company is not permitted on Trials Central> or PremierTravel room only kind of place instead ? If we just went for one day, is it obvious that 30th is preferable ? What time does it all start and how much earlier should we get there, what's the entrance queing like ? Wou…

Congrats to Toni Bou for tying Doug's streak of 7 consecutive World Titles. Congrats to Adam Raga for pushing him right to the end. The Montesa boys all agree it has been a very tough year. It was closer than most realize. After Saturday's result Raga 1st Bou 3rd the lead had been cut in half (5pts). On Sunday by lap 2 section 3: Bou 5th Cabes 4th Raga & Fajardo tied for 2nd and Dabil winning! At this point Raga had the WTC in his grasp. Only a stong finish by Bou and a few errors by Raga on the last lap changed the outcome.

Like everybody else I have been watching the Indoor Championship and also the Team Reports. - What a lot of you no what ! - Lets face it - Honda who own Montesa, made the decision to go with 4 strokes. - It was their choice to do that. - They can call it what they they want - a brave new move or whatever. - The fact remains that when you enter any competition you read the regulations and enter your best. While I have the greatest respect for Dougie Lampkin, I think it's time to recognise that we have a changing of the guard - especially at the Indoor venues. - Look at the performance by young Toni Bou - I also happen to think that 2 strokes will be around for a long tim…

Whilst it may seem like ages away, I'm making the most of what is a "quiet time" for me in the calendar to plan 2007 and that includes the British world round at Hawkstone and, in particular, the Trials Central get-together. 2005 was the first get-together. It was totally informal and not restricted to Trials Central folk. Unfortunately things got slightly out of control due to a very small minority of non-Trials Central people who couldn't handle their drink. 2006 was, I believe, a total success. Lessons were learned from 2005, access was controlled to ensure it was actually Trials Central readers and members who were allowed in and feedback afterwards indicated all wh…

Andrew (Nigel Dabster) asked a question in another thread about Patrick and the next world rounds. Patrick will be 18 by the next round, the choices he makes from here on out are his. I'm sure Noel still will have influence in Pat's future, and Noel indicated to me he'd rather see Pat finish the season in the Junior class, on a big bike. I think this is a terrible call. Now, it's up to Pat of course. But, I'd prefer to see Patrick finish the season off on the 125 and try to work his way into the runner-up position. If possible. That's if all his injuries have properly healed by then. I invested a ton into this season. I'd like to see top results in one championship …
