Hi Guys, I am starting the rebuild of a 1983 Honda Cl250s ( silk road), and just wondered if anyone out there has had one or still has one. I need to ask a couple of technical questions if possible. Many Thanks Gordon

Anyone know of rebuild kit for 1986 TLR200 rear shocks, or would it be better to to invest new set of rear shocks? Thinking about riding in vintage trials and obviously also doing front shocks also.

Fouled a plug in every ride last three rides and 3 plugs today! Bike starts well after new plug and runs great. I can rev through the whole range without hesitation and does not lack power! When I shut the bike off, it wont start very easy. Like 3 to 4 kicks and then it might start or just foul again. Running the stock plug cr6eh9 Notes: Plug is always extremely dry with black sutt adjusted valves recently but it did not resolve issue. Found considerable amount of engine oil today in the air box. Supposedly normal? Before this all started, I was riding one day and when I tried shut off, bike kept running even though the lanyard was …

Can someone clarify how to install the front sprocket retention hardware for a TL250?. There is a flat washer with cut outs to slide on the spline. There is a second washer with similar cutouts which also has some horizontal protrusions that will mate with the first washer. However, I don't see how these two washers can mate once on the spline. Then there is an e ring that fits but is not a tight fit in the groove on the spline.

I bought a new chain and sprocket kit for for my TL250 but no spacer was available for the rear sprocket. I can make one but am seeing only two ways, neither of which is highly desirable. See picture 1. -If I mount spacer to hub and then sprocket to spacer, I will have to open up holes in the freshly anodized sprocket for nut clearance for the spacer to hub attachment. -IF I could find longer studs, I could use them and basically sandwich a spacer between sprocket and hub. However, I suspect that studs that have been in place for 1/2 century will not come out easily. What have others done? Pictures? The sprocket is supposed to be a TL125 sprocket but …

Hello from Kampot, Cambodia. I've ended up with a 90 or 91 TLM260. My curiosity is about chassis parts, other than engine parts. I have no access to a parts manual (would like to get a copy) for this bike, but am curious if it has the same parts as the RTLs or other Hondas. I want to replace wheel bearings, swing arm bearings, fork seals and bushings, brake master and slave cylinder seals, etc. to make the bike serviceable for practice. I plan to strip it down, relocate the pegs back to the stock location, but not yet attempt to restore it to the beauty it once was. The engine is in good mechanical shape which is quite a relief as I understand it is the engine parts that …

Does anyone have experience with downsizing wheels diameters? I'm considering putting smaller 16" wheels on a honda TLM 50 for my grandson. Most electric trials bikes do have a 16" variant and some other 50cc 2 stroke junior trials bikes had both 16" and full size wheel size options.

Hello everybody, I hope for help here. I restored a TLM 200 2-stroke, replaced the missing carburetor with a Keihin PE24 from China (main jet 112, secondary jet 38, needle 2nd position from the top), spark plug NGK B6. I can't get it to run properly, with choke it revs way too high, without choke way too low and dies out. When trying to turn the idle gas higher, the engine suddenly ran at full speed and could not be stopped even by pulling off the spark plug connector... only after turning off the petrol and closing the exhaust pipe did the engine finally stop. Does anyone here know the original carburetor setup? Thanks in advance and greetings from Aachen, Germany…

Does someone sell a 13 tooth front sprocket for the TL250? I have a 14 and see 12 t for sale but no 13. I have spent some time on the bike now. It works well for such a heavy bike but it is not smooth when rolling on and off the throttle like when snaking slowly through trees with tight turns. There is a lot of engine braking with throttle off and as soon as the slide lifts a surge forward. I went from a very quick MX type throttle to an Amal trials throttle with no real change to this. The engine does not spin up quickly like it needs more flywheel. I'm thinking lower gearing may help in those slow on/ off parts. I have the stock gearing and am thinking lower…

I can see from the manual the manufacturers recommend SAE10-40, but which type? Nowadays the manufacturers (I've always stuck to Smith & Allen) seem to have semi synthetic and fully synthetic, other makes say there have a Mineral oil. It is all getting a bit confusing - especially when the same oil reservoir serves the engine, clutch and gearbox, a little guidance is needed.....
