The Alan Trophy trial is also a round of the National over 40 championship. 2009 will be the first time that a 50/50 route will be introduced aimed at increasing the entry numbers and should appeal to competent Clubman riders. A good friend of mine got a new camera a few weeks ago, so I suggested that he came along to a trail and take some action photos. If anyone who rode (or is just generally interested) he's posted them on Flickr.

Alexz Wigg took a Superb and confident win in the Stratford-Upon-Avon clubs Ralph Varden trial on Sunday. Dropping just 15 marks in the muddy conditions, Wigg halved the score of the next best rider Ross Danby. In third place was Buster Reagan on 42 with Mark Hicken fourth on 43. Expert Simon Levett riding down a route was best on the B route loosing just three marks with top Over 40 rider Clive Charleton taking maximum points towards his championship dropping 30. Eveshams Mick Chapman was third on36. Evergreen Kevin McCullagh won the C route on 30.

Anyone know how far lay-by 125 is South of Aviemore? Also, on the regs it says 'No fuel at start'. Does that mean no filling up of tanks at the parking area, or that there aren't any petrol stations in the vicinity?. Thanks, Craig

Last year Bedlington Motor Club ran the first Alwinton two day trial. Dates have recently been agreed by the North East Centre and this year the trial will take place on the 8th and 9th September. Last years event was enjoyed by many and consisted of three laps of 15 sections on the saturday and two laps of twenty sections on the sunday, all entirely off road. Members of the club have recently been back to the venue and found another 5 brand new sections, there are probabaly more. Discussions have also commenced with the Forestry Commission who have expressed interest in allowing the trial to use part of the neighbouring forest. The club are yet to get into the forest…

Bedlington Motor Club will be running the third edition of the Alwinton Two Day trial on the weekend of the 22/23 June 2013. Alwinton is a small village in rural Northumberland about 45 minutes North West of Newcastle. Each year the club has worked with local farmers and the Forestry Commission to extend the course. The Club would like to have an established two day trial and are hoping to attract riders from around the country to enjoy our event. This years event will be a single lap on the Saturday and a two lap trial on the Sunday. Saturdays route will be 30 sections including streams, shale, quarries, rock outcrop and even a little mud. There will also be a lunch …

This afternoon I'm off to rural northumberland to a small village called Alwinton. Bedlington and Seaton Delaval clubs in the North East Centre both run events in this area. In September the Bedlington club are to stage a two day trial based at Alwinton which will use a new area next to the existing Bedlington trial. Today i'm going to walk round with Colin Battensby, club secretary, and see how many sections we can find. Hopefully we can run two days with two laps of 20 different sections. It would be great to get riders from other parts of the UK to ride as well, its an excellent location with lots of natural terrain. There is limited accomodation in the area but th…

On Sunday the 3rd of September, the Sheffield & Hallamshire Motorcycle Club will be once again running their annual and ever popular Brough Rough ’N charity trial at the fantastic Elmore Hill Farm in the Peak District, in aid of Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice. This years event is also very special as it begins the running of a memorial trial for one of the club stalwarts Andy Atkinson, who sadly passed away in 2016. This unique event consists of a single route, off road course of approximately 5 miles and 15 varied sections, with riders having the choice of completing 2, 3 or 4 laps. As well as multiple graded hill climbs, rocky streams and bankings, the…

Just thought I would let all you Traditional trial enthusiasts know that following a few postal cock ups, the final entry total for this Saturday's Normandale sponsored Angela Redford Trial is 161 riders which we think is a fantastic number considering the current financial climate. This well and truly beats last year's total and whilst I can't be sure, must be one of the biggest entries ever for a Traditional series trial. The class of entry is superb with some really good riders taking part, so if you're not riding and fancy watching, then Brookhouse Brickworks which is signed from the Lancaster to Kirkby Lonsdale road at the mini roundabout in Caton is the place to be…
