  1. Started by coldcake,

Ysterday i went to watch a trial at Aberavon near Port Talbot,as i say i watched. But it looked realy tuff,i spoke to most of the boys who i ride with some weekends and it was tuff.Plenty of arm pump going down. The venue, class of riders and organisation was top class. if you want to see some photos check this site out "http://www.welshtrials.com/index.htm" May be next year, if i can keep my feet off the ground.

Bedlington motor club are staging a two day trial at the popular Hope Farm venue over Easter Weekend. The trial will take place on Sunday 31st March and Monday 1st April. The event will cater for all classes of rider from very easy to expert. Each day will be 4 laps of 10 different sections. If you haven’t been to Hope Farm before the venue has some excellent natural terrain and is predominantly rock gullies and rock outcrop. Start time will be 11am each day and you can enter on the day. Due to recent weather it is not going to be possible to camp or use caravans at the venue but local accommodation is available in nearby Rothbury.

Hi after spending an excellent weekend up at Alwinton two day trial I would just like to say a big thank you to all that were involved in this fantastic event. If you haven't rode this trial before you need to put it on your bucket list. Once again ladies & gentleman well done & I can't wait until next year.

hi, i just wondered if any of you could let me know if there is any difference, between a beginers trial, and a novice trial, or what is the difference, between those two and an over 40s trial,??????? the reason i ask is that, when i was younger i had enjoyed owning and riding several trials bikes, (old monts and bultacos, 70s bikes) i hadnt however been in any trial, back then i had access to old pits, and woods, i carried on like that for about 10years or so. then i had a big gap of about 17 years of not owning or riding a bike at all, (except for doing some "proper" mountain bike riding). then in september, i decided to treat myself and went and bought a new sherco…

  6. On Saturday 25th April, Stratford MCC will be running a trials for beginners/newcomers, with a practise session in the morning. This will be at Saintbury Quarry, near Dormy House Hotel/Broadway Golf Course, North Cotswolds. This will be for anybody who has little or no experience of trials riding. Riders will be expected to come in the morning to practise the actual sections they will be riding in the afternoon trial. We plan to have only five sections, each with a different focus (eg rocks, steps, cambers, tight turns, climbs). There will be easy and slightly harder routes to each section. The day will go as follows: Arrival 10am sign-on for 10.30 start of prac…

Really big thanks to North Derbyshire Youth MCC and Manchester 17 for putting on a cracker of a trial today. Weather was perfect and a great mix of sections from loose climbs/logs/streams and steps set in incredible countryside. First time I have done the Trial although most of the lads have done it a few times and have always raved about it, can see why now. Dad had a brilliant ride on the 4rt as did young Joe but doubled his score late in the Trial with a silly five. Me,Ralph,Jon and James would have been about the same score mid thirties I hope. 40 sections over a single lap of about 40 miles i think, took 7 hours to complete but seemed to go really quickly, all …

Rode the 80th Bemrose today with my lad and some mates, great trial and very well organised, single lap of 40 sections, butty wagon, no rain, bike didn't miss a beat (Yamaha!!) and some cracking scenery. The work that goes into these events is often overlooked by riders so many thanks to Alan and Ruth Nixon and team for a great day out. Eiger.

  13. Started by eiger,

My lad rode the Bemrose today and I observed and thoroughly enjoyed it too. The standard of riding on both sections I was involved with was unbelievable and one of the best rides of the day was Jonh Shirt Junior at the first section at Staden Quarry - a safety dab spoiled the smoothest ride of the day. It was a good day out, however the Police were out in force and stopped a number of bikes, including a rider who was not only not in possession of a valid insurance certificate, but the bike was not registered and he only had a licence to drive a car and not a bike. As I understand it the only reason the bike was not confiscated was because the Police could not arrange rec…

  16. Unfortunately I didn't finish this trial as incurred a large slit in the tyre attempting the step at the end of the 1st loop- and tyre came off the rim. Only one person at the whole event had a "beader" as I call them, but then my brother had the dog turds...and Dad was spectating in the car which had our foot pump in.... Anyway, point of the post is to say thanks to Rod Nichols who leant me the beader and helped me try and get back on the road. I'm also trying to trace another rider in a van opposite the back of his, who leant me a foot pump, which unfortunately broke whilst someone was giving it some hammer whilst we tried to get the tyre on the rim. I left a note tuck…
