UK Trials Talk

I’ve just received my AMCA licence but it seems I’m not a member of any club, will this cause me any problems entering trials? The application form I used had N/A in the club section

We happen to be in Devon the weekend of the 14th/15th August and if I remember rightly there is a British Championship round there that weekend (coincidence that isn't it). Can anyone tell me where it is being held? Thanks Andy

As it's on my doorstep, almost literally, I went up to spectate at Hookwood last weekend. Some of those sections looked truly gruesome, especially given the amount of mud that was around. I was having difficulty standing up on two feet, let alone two wheels! Hats off to all of the competitors for sticking at it and rewarding us all with a great day; very well done!

Any one actually got a copy of it, we've (Sidcup) had two emails (one from ACU, one from local centre) refering to a word file that's going around but i can't find a copy attached to any of the emails of buried on here or the ACU site. Hi, I used to race a bit of MX but been on the road for the past few years - I want to get back to off road as its much more fun! Thinking of either enduro or a trials bike (road legal) which I can scoot off across the many (legal) byways we have around here and mess about. So is there anyone who rides anywhere near here and can recommend places to me? I've seen a few groups of people heading off! I also am not sure on whether to go 2 or 4 stroke? How long would a fuel of tank last roughly? Any information greatly received! Thanks

Popped over to buy some kit and had a go on a few of the new bikes. JTG 250, very nice, light, great suspension, grips great, didn't like the gear lever travel and lack of positive action/gear selection. OSSA 280, very light but feels old fashioned, engine not particularly that nice, didn't like it straight away to be honest, so not really fair to say much more. (I nearly bought one 16 months ago, unseen or ridden, TF I didn't) Beta 125, great bike, I could get much better results with this bike, feels light and small, front forks were awfull, wooden and felt like they bottomed out easily, but grips very well and has just enough power for a clubman. I am rideing mintex for the first time this year I have been rideing bikes since I was six but only been rideing trials for 8 months but I fancey a challenge .. so has any one got any advice for trianing, bike preperation or any thing else it would be highly appreciated!!!

Hi all I am very new in the trials scene and although really enjoying it, I am getting very frustrated at my lack of ability! I know that over time I will get better but I really hate coming last in the easy trials and would like either some one on one coaching or some informal advice about where Im going wrong. I know I cant rush the brake and clutch control side, nor the balace side but some clear advice would hopefully help me get some sense of achievement out of this great sport. I am based in Kendal, Cumbria but am somewhat limited by where I can practise. If anyone can aim me in the right direction that would be great. cheers Gunn
