A rumour spreading round Richmond tonight is that Deejay has now got off the reserve list & moved onto the start line. What with him flying Fuji over to advise exactly how hard he can go with his special Fuji mapped bike we could see a new fastest ever Standard Time. Look out Doug you've got a real challenger now.

I've just got this ready for next weekends Motogp, Hawkstone world round and hopefully the next trial where there's a camp-over. Tried it out this weekend and i'm well pleased with it. Very comfy and roomy , very stable and takes less than a minute to put it up. Got it from www.4x4touring-gear.com Andy.

I thought that WB was the Montesa importer. How come he's ended up on a Gasser?. Will his missus not let him have a new 4RT or what?

At the beginning of 2004 (early January I think)I rode in a road trial. It was somewhere off the A44 in Herefordshire/Worcestershire area. It started from a pub car park. I think the Cowley brothers were riding and Paul Millhouse. The first group of sections was in a muddy stream bed, the 2nd on a wooded steep bank that was nigh on impossible to ride in the conditions. Then there were more groups around stream beds and steep banks coming out/ into them. It was a really good trial and just wanted to know the name so I could look out for it next year. I have looked in TMX for it every year since, but either miss it or it's no longer run. Cheers Dave

I've been thinking (yeah.. it doesn't happen often) about the TV series kickstart and how in an earlier post so many of you were keen to see it on TV again. Who actually organises the uk indoor round of the wtc? Who provides the equipment? If it were possible to organise something like kickstart again... what sort of level rider would it be targeted at? Should it be split into groups... aka.. pro, junior, women? How would it be organised? How was it organised? Did a club from each region take it on or what? Anyone know anyone who would be interested in taking this idea further?

There's been loads of discussions about numbers of riders over the past few years, and quite a few comments about the majority of riders being middle aged or more. Not sure whether that's true across the country but seems to be a common theme. It struck me the other day that 25 years ago when I hit the fatal distractions of beer and the fairer sex, I could chuck my Fantic/Yamaha away in the garage until I felt like dragging it out again, not lose a massive amount of money on it, and not find out that my bike was prehistoric when it came out 10 months later. These days it doesn't seem like the bikes have really changed that much technically over the past 5 or 6 years, bu…

Just thought I'd mention it for people in the mid-Wales/Cheshire area. I was talking to someone at todays event, and three local bike dealers are doing a bike demo day on the 19th January. I believe the three dealers are David Jones, Steve Plain, and Wylie and Holland but I'm not definite on all of them yet, I need to do some ringing tomorrow, I was too busy dragging flags in to speak to anyone at the end of the trial. I do know that the plan is to have the Montesa 4RT, the Sherco 4T, plus a load of Sherco/Gasser 2 strokes. I don't know if there are any other 2 strokes there. If anyone fancies a ride, Graham Evans is the bloke with the details and taking bookings on 01…

Hello there, does anybody know where I can take my newly aquired, cheap old Gasa For a spin? Its my first trials bike at the ripe old age of 39! Had and still have road and enduro bikes but this is a whole new ball game. Like a learner again! Cheers Kev.

After a long long struggle through the local bureaucracy and other seemingly endless hoops the Milton Buzzard MCC has fianally got the ground promised to them. This facility is purpose built and would be leased long term for the use of trials riders exclusively. Centrally located it is hoped that the planting and grassing will allow riding in a few months time. take a look! Just shows lower part of site.

Thats right, the entries are full for the solo class after less than a week. Apologies to those who have not sent your forms back yet, my advice is don't waste the postage. If you want a form for next year then get in touch with the entries secretary at: tonytemple@manx.net He will add you to his list. Any sidecar readers, you have until April 28th to get yours back!

At Sunday's Trial, I was talking to another competitor about Observing and he said he Observes at the SSDT and has a great week out This struck a cord with me, as I've been thinking about it for a while at big Trials (which i'm not good enough to ride anymore) I'd like to Observe at big Trials like the Reeth 3 day, maybe the Scott and ultimately the SSDT, plus a few Nationals or BTC in the fullness of time I realise you have to start small, but how do you get into it? Is there any training, at Club level or ACU? How do you know when you're ready to do a big Trial? Obviously I don't want to get it wrong and this is the bit that scares me silly, because riders put a l…
