Hi Everybody -- I have a Greeves alloy tank (the 2 gallon version) marked with the number 37 on a splash of light green paint. As we all probably know this is almost certainly marking from the SSDT. I suspect that the tank was used - 1968 or 1969 or 1970 or perhaps 1971 but have no hard evidence to support this. Can anyone tie a riders name to this information. Just to reiterate the bike would have been a Greeves or Triumph/Greeves and the year would have probably been the late sixties, a year when a light green marking paint was used.

At the rate you lot are going, there won't be any.... Entries closed last Friday, and as of today there are still THIRTY FOUR riders who haven't paid for their places. There are nine unidentified payments in our bank account (listed in a separate topic from last week) so that leaves twenty-five people who haven't paid, but haven't got in touch with us either to let us know their situation. I can't allocate riding numbers until we know who is riding and who isn't. Well, I can, but it means that you won't all get to ride with your pals! For everybody's sake, can I ask you to do two things : Check the previous topic and if you have paid over the counter at any of…

As posted just the other day, not much SSDT banter on here (yet...!). So, just to put that right... Anyone heard what level of support the various importers are getting/providing in Fort Bill this year? Factory trucks a-plenty? Intrigued to know as plenty of people will be keen to know what they have to got to sort for themselves if no importer/factory support is forthcoming from any particular marque (or not).

Just come across a date clash with this years SSDT that may impact accomadation availability in and around Fort William. The British Downhill Mountain Bike championships are been held on the final saturday of SSDT week at Ben Nevis. They ll be a couple of hundred riders plus followers add in the spectators etc and B&B wise it might be a tight squeeze.. As old Fred Pontin used to say '' Book early!''

How do you fancy getting involved with the biggest and best trial in the whole entire world?! The Scottish Six Days Trial is looking for a Secretary – someone to join the fun, mayhem and camaraderie of the SSDT Committee and help bring the greatest off-road motorcycle trial in the world to fruition in May 2013! Are you up for it? The SSDT Secretary’s job has traditionally been quite intensive, and as the trial has increased in size and stature, as has the work involved in getting it on the ground. The SSDT Committee have recognised that getting one person to take on the job is going to be difficult, and so over recent weeks the job has been broken down into six separ…

I know the routes are due out about now, but does anyone know if it will be the usual group Monday afternoon? Lagnaha, is that what it is called? The one where they sell the cake and tea from the hall opposite. Coming up on the road bike and won't get there until Monday pm so will head straight there if that's the case. Then sort out programmes and tents and stuff later. Cheers Dave

As of Fridays results, TC member and hopefull "Baldilocks" is hanging onto his top 100 spot by his toenails! In the 100th spot, Baldi is only one point behind Becky Cook, spot 99, and actually has a fair chance at whipping the lass. Should things go terribly wrong on Saturday, we shall do our best to insure Bex follows through with a bending of Baldilocks over the knee and a paddle provided by TC.

Well, what was a certain Mr Colley riding when he won in 1997 and 2000??? I'm sure it was a gasser, especially as when I bought the '97 one off him he told me it had just won the event, but I could be wrong, you know what these dodgy second hand bike salesmen are like he he! COME ON DIBS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Picked this comment from another thread regarding the Sherco 4T's performance causing Jarvis some lost marks and possibly denying him the win. Firstly, obviously, I am interested in the Sherco 4T as I have stated that if they get it right I would buy another so hearing the above leaves me asking the question is this bike sorted or not? Secondly, How did the Beta 4T do? I know Pascuet done well. Anyone? Thirdly, There were a lot of 4RT's there.. they all seem to have gone well. Anyone with any stories on them worth noting? Lastly, I know that Ross' & Bert's gasser 125's went ok all week and thats some achievement considering the little motor had to work so hard.…

This is what you need to do when:- Your Gasser gearbox gives up or Your Scorpa piston nips up or Your 4rt kick-start breaks a case or Your Sherco mains drop out or Your Beta electrics fry When the worst happens
