USA Trials

Would installation of a 1971 swing arm be AHRMA legal on a pre 65 lightweight? I'm planning to install a Bultaco wheel on a C15 but also have the swingarm. It might actually make the swap easier. The rule book mentions frames and engines but says nothing specific about swingarms. I do notice that people modify swingarms and others offer aftermarket arms.

The 2012 Ahrma Vintage Trials schedule is little more than an insult to the outgoing National Trials Coordinators, Ed and Evelyn Peacock who have worked tirelessly to promote high quality and enjoyable trials during their long stint in office. The article on my blog has created considerable interest in the possible "way ahead" and all comments are welcome from those with a Vintage Trials passion. Tony

The AHRMA rule book states: 13.2.6 ALL MODIFICATIONS MUST BE CONSISTENT WITH THE SPIRIT OF THE CLASS. Period modifications have been extensively documented and machines with obvious non-period or excessive modifications will be disqualified or required to compete in the next-higher-level class. Where would one find this extensive documentation for a premier trials bike frame as in C15? Would a home made Otter frame be legal?

Group, Can someone tell me why AHRMA has the rule that you can not come to a dead stop in the middle of a section? Doesn't matter if you keep you feet on the pegs, it's still a 5. If there is a good reason for it, fine, if not how about if we submit a "rules change request". Comments? Alan

Any Press is good Press? Well if you have your latest issue of Vintage Views you see the cover is a Trials scene. I got excited .....until I read the article and Ed's notes. I know that Mid-O going away was a blow to AHRMA and the Jeep School Trial was put together quickly but "HOW MANY RIDERS"? Then you read Ed's comments and find that two of the final events have been cancelled. Don't really think any of this is good news for Trials. Alan

It was posted that rules changes were being submitted to the Governing body ( Twin shock/Drum Pre 1985) and those concerned should respond to their representatives in favor of the motion . Also that TLR's are not included . Well...Okay ....ITSA (yeah , okay pun intended ) start . Nothing ventured , nothing gained . I think with the new Trials Coordainator , that there can be improvement . But it takes your voice ! Thought's ?

The Cummins 600 Powered Turbo Diesel Bug Smashing Machine(C6PTDBSM) is near ready for the trip to TTC! I tossed the mud clods from the floor mats and gave it it's semi-annual bath, cleaned the windshield on the outside part too! Fresh oil change and filters and air in the tires! Is it just me or is anybody else insulted by the AMA membership application saying "observed trails". Dan

So this showed up on our event insurance (along with the wrong additional insureds). Trialsmaster clarified with Birdsong insurance if someone falls in a puddle we are not covered without additional insurance. 🫤 So if it rains and you don’t get the additional coverage you are not insured.

I know that we are all members on this side of the pond of that little organization out there AmA. We also get their little magazine that promotes legislation and government stuff and some Harley rides though our beautiful country. I usually flip through it and file it promptly after realizing that our sport has very few articles and that we don't see many people coming down on us trials riders. Its nice to see that they still recognize us and our pro riders out there to an extent but this month I found to great articles that are related to trials! I just received my renewal notice for my AMA membership, the full membership in the past has allowed me to compete in AMA sanctioned trials, you could also sign on for as many years has you wish to pay for at one time, that expires date/year shown on card Along with the renewal notice, is a Racing membership renewal, for AMA members who wish to race in 08, Well I presume 08, because the form they sent says if your racing in 07 important notice, this form requires you fill out and have notorized an annual release and liability waiver.
