i want to take my daughter to the macclesfield club dead easy trial on sunday but how easy is it it will be her first event and i dont want to put her off

Hi, I am after a bit of info please, my lad has done 2 yrs now on his 36volt OSET and is ready to progress to a petrol bike, I like the look of both of these bikes and have seen both in action, but was wondering about the pro's and cons for both before I sell the Oset. I Would be grateful if anyone has had any experience with either of these bikes or if anyone knows of a nice 2nd hand one up for grabs. Cheers Andy, Notts.

my daugther is 10 yrs old and wants a bigger bike should i get her a gas gas cadet or a rookie either way where is the best place to get a secondhand one from and what faults do they have

At the mintex trial the bikes have to be below 85dBA dose any one now what distance they mesure bike at or what reves they do it at ??

There will be a conducted small wheels trial at the Castleside Trial this Sunday 17th at Lambshields (see events calendar for location details). There will be hard and easy courses so we can cater for everything from Osets through to Big wheel 80 (or 125 beginners !) Nothing difficult, we will probably be running a morning trial, then a different route of the afternoon (results added together for overall). Bring the kids along - note start time - 9.30am ! There will be a kids 'TY or small wheels; route at the South Shields trial at Oxen Law this Sunday (See events liting for details). Courses will set to ability, complete beginners are more than welcome ! The trial will be run on really good land (woods, banksides etc), really close to the parking area. More than likely there will be a morning then afternoon trial, with plenty of bike time. Sections will be marked out to take marks but nothing dangerous at all. Bring the kids along, like I said, even if they have never rode a trial - as long as they can start, ride and stop a bike there will be a course set out for them. hi anybody know where i can get a 16" rear tyre and an 18" front please my daughter has no grip

My 13 yr lad had his first trial last weekend ( Waterside Club ) fantastic club, great event .... We got an 09 Gas Gas 125 with Renthal Fatbars on... Fitted some 20mm risers and he reckons feels much nicer like his BMX !! When he is on full lock , he is really outstreched . Was thinking of triming bar width slighty ? On the basis that what may be fine for a 6" 2 bloke may not be right for a skinny 12-13yr old !! any ideas of bar set up please, trials dad,s

This Sunday we will be putting on a Small Wheel trial at the Castleside Club trial at Rogerly Quarry, running alongside the main trial. For the Small Wheels we will use the centre 'bowl' at Rogerly, which is excellent for kids. Big enough to run a 'proper' trial, but close enough for parents to be near. We will run two routes if there is enough demand:- Easy Route for Oset / beginners etc Hard Route for those a little more advanced. Suffice to say neither route will be anything dangerous, but hopefully challenging enough to take marks. Have just got my son a beta rev 80 for xmas and have seen another 80 described fitted with a montesa rear mudguard. Does anyone know what montesa mudguard fits as i have noticed the beta one is not very flexible and dont want to buy a graphics kit to find i need more graphics for the next mudguard. Any help would be appreciated.

This Sunday (30th) Consett Club will be putting a 'practice day' for the kids, running at Butsfield along with the main trial. Most of the kids have new shiny bikes off Santa , so we have decided to let them get used to them with a practice day rather than a trial. Any kids, any abilities are welcome, and if your youngster is new to trials, bring them along for a practice and have a chat about bringing them along next year. We will set a few sections out that they can have a go at, with no pressure or competition - just lots of fun . So looks like the number of rounds for the C & D Championship is a bit much. After the ACU said they would try and make things "easier" for parents they come up with 8 rounds in 7 months!!!! That might sound OK but 3 of those are in September!! Even worse for any competitor south of Watford 6 of them are in the North. The A&B at least has the Rounds spread around datewise even though most are northern based. This is the Problem. The EXPENSE of these rounds. The Petrol, Diesel, Parts and Accommodation incurred means many potential Entrants are already put off. It cost me over £300 a round 4 years ago. That was averaging it out between the Close and Distant round…

This Sunday 23rd December there will be no TY or Purple route for the kids at the Stanley Trial at Butsfield. The following week (30th) we will be back to nornal with kids routes on. Im looking to get my girlfreinds boy a trials bike as hes been showing an interest in my bike. Ive got a tight budget of £500 and the only option for that money as far as i can see is the TY. Dont really want to spend tomuch more until iknow he is properly keen and will pursue it. Will this bike be a good start bike for a 9 year old or will it be to small is my main question? Hes never riden a bike with a clutch before. Hes about a average height for his age but is on the heavy side!!! Any input would be good.

Starting to think about what bike is next for my lad and wanted to hear of any experiences good or bad that you've had moving to a bigger bike. He is currently on a Sherco 50, auto clutch, very good bike and he loves riding it, currently in his first year of D class. He is starting to need something more though, and I'm not sure whether to move to a bike such as a GG Boy, which apparently has better suspension, brakes and more power, or onto maybe a medium wheel bike like a cadet or Beta 50? Don't want to over bike him, and put him off but I'm thinking more along the lines of a medium wheel bike. Any advice would be welcome

Hi All, As you may have seen on previous posts regarding my son and his 125 I have now decided to get him on an 80. Im not sure which one though as Gas Gas have 3 models. On looking at the Gas Gas site he would be better off with the Cadet as this appears to have the 21" front and 19" rear wheels or may be the rookie would be better. He is a really good rider so im not sure what to go for. Can any one advise please. Thanks N

Took my grandson to his first trial on Sunday at Drumcarro-East Neuk of Fife Dabbers venue The club should be congratulated on this absolutely fabulous piece of ground, and for their enthusiasm to extend the lap by acquiring further ground which was used for the first time. Well done!
