  2. Hello from the Canadian side of the 'pond'. My son has a 2006 TXT 80 and I'm thinking of "refreshing" the top end. The OEM cylinder is a Morini and is made with iron (and is not Nicosil (sp?) coated). As a result I am considering a complete kit from Italkit (model CK.22.750.G). Anything I do will be an improvement to the (lack of) power output. Does anyone have any experience with Italkit and/or this particular kit? At the moment I'm trying to determine if the kit is available and from whom I could order it. Scooters and their support shops are not very popular here in N.A. Your help is appreciated. Dale

Last sunday my daughter came to trials practice, and has not stopped talking about wanting a bike since after watching my friends daughter riding her beta evo 80. It may be a flash in the pan as kids have a change of heart once something else catches their eye so i am going to hold back for a few weeks to see if she is still interested and if so,will look at getting her started, Thinking of an automatic to start and when she has confidence, change to a geared machine but what bike to start on ??? or should i go for a yamaha ty80 and get her riding a geared bike straight off. she is only 9 so a ty would be ideal size and power wise without too much expense but i cant thi…

I'm taking my 7 year old lad to his (and my) first trials event on the 31st. We've been to watch a few over the last year - but this is the first time that we are taking part. I'd like a few pointers as to what I need to take along (other than the bike and rider) so that this first event goes as smoothly as possible for my son, which will no doubt revlove around me being sorted - and having everything I need to make it a pleasant first time out for the both of us. ANY suggestions, as to what to take would be greatly appreciated. Cheers - matt.

Hi, I am new and have recently purchased a Gas Gas 50 txt boy for my son. The clutch fluid is low and needs topping up the owners manual says "Warning: Use the recommended oil. See quick guide to maintenance, page 8" Problem is no clutch fluid is mentioned on page 8. Is this just ordinary brake/clutch fluid ? Thanks

Hi, I just purchased a TXT 50 Boy and installed a 70 cc. kit on it. Does anyone know what jetting to use with this bigger motor? What mods could be made to the transmission to make it more direct in order for the Child to get power sooner and not wait until it revs. up like crazy.

Just bought my lad an unused 2005 Gasgas Boy TXT 50 (with the later 2006 trouble free generator/engine fitted). He has had a year racing a KTM 50 Auto but now wants a go at trials riding. Having a manual, yet automatic clutch confuses me! And riding it slow seems to require continual opening and shutting the throttle to move forward. And is the clutch lever simply for lifting the front wheel when the revs are up and the centrifugal clutch already engaged? Can anyone with good experience of this bike suggest the best way of riding it, or/and and modifications that are worthwhile making? Any help at all would be very much apreciated. Even bought myself a 2004 Beta Rev3 250 …

Hi, I am after a bit of info please, my lad has done 2 yrs now on his 36volt OSET and is ready to progress to a petrol bike, I like the look of both of these bikes and have seen both in action, but was wondering about the pro's and cons for both before I sell the Oset. I Would be grateful if anyone has had any experience with either of these bikes or if anyone knows of a nice 2nd hand one up for grabs. Cheers Andy, Notts.

It was announced at the riders meeting at round one of the ATA Championship that 10 time national champion Geoff Aaron will be going for title number 11. This is great news for our US sport! Not only do the youngsters coming up like Cody and Patrick need him around to push them. He will also be a great foundation for our TDN team for the coming years as they fight their way up the A group. Face it, the fight to the podium in the World Championship group will be a tough one. I believe it would be a mistake to underestimate Team GB, Japan or Spain! One of which we are going to have to knock off if we hope to someday climb up onto the World Championship podium. Ha…

just bought my son a 2004 txt 50 boy and it runs great until its hot, say 15 mins riding ,then it will not rev correctly and sounds as if its either missing or running out of fuel and also has no power. If I stop it for 3 mins then kick it into life it runs great again for 15 mins??? Has anyone had similar problems with this bike? Oh and while i'm here does anyone now which friction plate I must change to enable the clutch to engage sooner?

  19. Hi, As the title says really who's done it and what sort of issues did you come up against in the process ? Basically I have been in two minds to go down the petrol or electric route as a starter for my 8yr old, really not many decent petrol ones around (been searching for couple of months) unless you start spending £1k + and then you still dont know what sort of a life they have had ! Then of course after watching a few recent trials all the kids seem to be on these Oset bikes and looks like this is the way forward but after being brought up on petrol bikes I suppose that's why I wanted to smell the 2stroke bliss again but that coupled with the obvious noise differenc…
