Classic Trials

I've fitted new red gonelli mudgaurds on my kt, but i needed to match the colour so i can paint the tank and side panels, so i went to autospray paint factors near me and we matched it up!!! If any one else needs the colour its - St Germain red (duller variant) manufacturer - Suzuki car.

Worthing Trials Club in conjuntion with the Beamish Owners Club are holding twinshock trial on Good Friday, you can find details in the events canendar. As President of the Beamish Owners Club you would have thought I would be there on my Beamish but unfortuenately the crank seals have gone and it's not worth rebuilding the engine without replacing the big end. I have a con rod kit but there is no-one local to Brighton who can fit it for me before Easter and sending it away will just teke too long! Bugger! So, althought it is almost Beamish yellow, my GasGas will have to do this year - bit I shall be ready next time to compete for one of my own trophies!!! Come along …

We have had to cancel the Goodwin Shield Pre-67 Trial planned for February 25th at Bagshot Test Track due to issues with the land agent. We will try to have the trial at a different venue later in the year. It is very frustrating to have the same land pulled twice in as many months.

Spares ordered at closing time yesterday from In Motion/Bultaco UK arrived this morning in far flung Fife. Told them there was no hurry too. Even spelt my name right. Brilliant.

One of my Greeves trials alloy barrels has a head with the combustion chamber offset and with the spark plug in the centre of the off-set. Can anyone tell me which way to position the head? Spark plug off-set to the fore or towards the back? My good friend tells me it should be forward but my engine builder, of cosiderable experience, built it up and marked it to be at the back..I assume it will have been designed with the flow of the transfer ports and exhaust port in mind and it seems to run smoother with it at the front! So is that the answer?

Do people ride the early Challengers in Classic Trials? They were a light 250 bike in their time, and with a big sprocket, I was wondering how they might work with that leading link front suspension. Bars might be a bit wide, but that can be changed. Greeves may have built a better Trials bike in 1964, but the Challenger seems like it could be good... with a few changes. What do you guys think? Thanks

Hi Guys For those that where following my previous thread "Bultaco Mechanic Wanted" ... am pleased to say the bike is NOW running and starting second or third kick ! ...wont go into to many details other than heres the final chapter ... but shortened ! 1. Last week the barrel went of to Dave R for a re-bore / new piston etc ...as there was so much wear it would just not run , it was still on its original bore size ! 2. This week and barrel is back + box of more goodies ready for assembly ! 3. Sat / Sunday ... Engine back together ... wiring mocked up to check spark with the new HT coil , its now very fat and blue ! 4. Sun afternoon , all fueled up ready for the big …

Hi....Currently have a Fantic 303 and a TY250 Mono with Grimeca front disc conversions, each one has a broken front brake lever; does anyone know how I can go about obtaining replacements ? Rgds, Mike

Hi all, the Guy Fawkes trial is on the 2nd November, it's a road trial based in the Cotswolds. It's run by the Western Classic MCC entry forms are on the AMCA site, I've also attached a copy in this post.
