Classic Trials

Hi, Just a couple of questions about classic trials events and bike spec. The clutch on my Ossa MAR is heavier than the one on my Ducati, and on Ebay you can buy some really cheap chinese hydraulic clutch kits whihc might bring a solution to the heaviness, would these be allowed in twin shock trials or is it deemed out of keeping? Secondly, as acquired the bike is missing one spoke out of each wheel, can you buy single spokes, if so from where, or would it not be a scrutineering failure? So I finally got some pics of my dad tooling around in the yard with his TLR 250 (I think). I know it is a fairly rare bike, but I'm not sure exactly what model it is. I guess I could always ask him then eh?

As a quick summary of the posts on the thread, the overwhelming consensus on this board seems to be 'We do not mind losing all genuine pre-65 bikes from pre-65 trials, we just want to ride what we want, and see no problem in that. All sports progress and that, to us, is progression in this one'. Of course, I disagree as a minority here also do. Can anyone recognize/ID these fork trees? They're on a TL125 with 34mm KT250 forks but the clamps are from neither of the above. The top unit keeps cracking so it's time to try to locate a replacement. Thanks for any help! John in NC USA

I am starting to plan our round of the Sammy Miller Classic Bike Championship and wondered if any riders had a view on how far the trial should ideally travel on the road. We can visit groups of sections used in the National Colmore Cup or even sections used in the 75 mile OK Supreme LDT, or anything in between. What distance is likely to attract the most classic entrants? Pete

Hi All, just new to Trials and looking for some info on a 1964 TR20 Cub I bought (FMB 24B) I know it belonged to a HR (HB?) Pemberton from Colwyn Bay and was sold in 1971 to a Mike Worrall. Attached is the one photo I have but not sure who this is. Apologies if this in the wrong category Any info gratefully recieved

Does anyone know if inner tubes have a shelf life? I’ve just found a few new boxed ones from the 90’s are they any good? They look ok, boxes are a bit tatty!

Hello Could some one give me an idea what to tell the insurance company regarding value? We thought £1500-1700? Its a bog standard 1962 C15, been stored in the dry for the last 30 odd years, we need to insure it against theft whilst we decide what to do with it as we just have too much stuff going on. Its 99% complete but needs recommissioning as it hasn't ran for years Thanks

As team manager for the Victorious BMCA2 team I would like to congratulate our team members. Not only did our team win the event but our riders Alan Nicklin and Robert Bowyer finished first and second overall. These two were backed up by Chris Denney and Keith Gardner with our fifth (non scoring) member Mick Parkes who rode with a painful back injury and made the finish with a respectable score. This is the first time that a team from the AMCA has won this event. To say we are well chuffed is an understatement.

Hello Im wondering if anyone could shed any light on my great grandad. We have a trophy for the 1937 ISDT for Joe Hudson. He would probably have been a sidecar passenger, although he may have ridden solo. does anyone have the results or the entry list for tis trial? thanks Jack

Hi Has anyone here had a go at the pre 65 trial up aviemore way that Big John does, ive heard its good but im not the best with the old bike and its not the best with water! Are the sections easy or hard , are they mostly burns like the trials up here for the more modern stuff or is it a mixture. i've an old crusader for years using it up the hills etc locally but ive fancied having a go at a trial with it. Is there any pics on the web of the event last year and who do i contact for an entry? Cheers Greg

Hi, I notice my rear IRC says 'for off road use only'. I have just registered the bike for the road (to hopefully use in Scotland and any other trials with road work). Do I need a Michelin? I seem to remember people using IRC in the Scotland Classic...

Hi vereyone - i have inherited my dads d1 bantam trials bike and after a couple of months work have just got it running for 1st time in 20 years this week - id love to ride it in a gentle trial + wondered if theres anything suitable this year in nth london herts / beds area or futher afield.. any ideas greatly appreciated :-) Cheers!!!

Hello folks. I have a bit of a mystery on my hands, and I'd really appreciate some help! Recently I bought a frame, and it was described as being froma particular manufacturer, and from the photographs made available, I had no reason to believe it was not as described. However, having now had the opportunity to examine it more closely, I begin to doubt that I know who made this thing! Since then, I have shown it to a number of people, and the number of differing opinions roughly equates to the number of people I've shown it to Anyone who can identify this .... please ????? !!!!!
