I have a 16M engine and I am confused by what Alfin barrel will fit , what is the flanged type? Were that that many different Alfin barrels? Does anybody know how many were made?

Hi all, I found this forum while searching for information about Bultaco Alpinas. I have a chance to purchase a '74 350 Alpina 116. I had one of these back in the 70's and am really thinking about buying it. The problem is that I will have to sell my 1972 Honda TL 125 to make room for it. I'm just a new fan of trials and don't have many opportunities to compete. I read a thread on this site from a few years back and wondered if anyone had a new ideas/opinions about the alpine as a amateur trials bike? Thanks for any advice.

I wonder if anyone can help me with some information. I am writing an article for the owners club magazine for a Pre'65 trials bike I inherited from my late father. I remember he took it to an off-road show at Alton Towers in the early 1980's and I think won the concours award for pre-65 trials bikes. I am interested if anyone can confirm the year, the show must have been before May 1985 because I rode it in the Pre'65 Scottish, after which it was no longer concours condition. Thanks in advance.

I have an Amal carb on my 73 Ossa Explorer. There is only one screw on the carb that adjusts air/fuel. My question is: since the screw is on the jug side of the carburetor, doesn't that make it a fuel screw? I always thought if a screw is on the aircleaner side of the carb, that made it the air screw. But there is no screw on that side of this carb. I have received different advice on this issue at events. If I back off on this screw, am I making it leaner or richer? And, what is a good method for adjusting these old carbs, (other than discarding them). Thanks

There's some kind of rubber seal in the bottom of Amal L2627/402 (Made in Spain) choke plunger. In my carb this seal is worn out so it doesn't work properly. From where I could get a new one plunger?

To help with a machine eligiblity issue can anyone state, with confidence, when the Amal Concentric MK1 and MK2 carburettors were first introduced.

I am familiar with the AMAL concentric Mk1 carb but is the Mk1.5 the same as a Mk1 with the addition of a choke. The Mk2 looks different externally but what are the changes from the Mk1 & Mk1.5. Is the jetting & slide common to all three types ?

I'm hoping that someone can give me some advice or pointers on how to solve a carburation problem on my and#39;53 350 matchless which is fitted with a 26mm MK1 concentric carb. The bike had been running fine but I started having problems on her last outing when she started 8-stroking and "hesitating" when I opened the throttle. My initial optimistic thought was she was running rich due to a combination of higher altitude and exceptionally warm weather. The problem was still there when I got her home, and on further examination I found the nuts holding the carb to the manifold (head) had loosened a little, and that she was drawing air (weak rather than rich???). Hello, I read much about people using a Villiers carb on their HT5 projects, so starting to think about whether it might be work experimenting with one on my 400cc G3. Is anyone out there using a Villiers carb on a 16M or G3 based machine? Any thoughts/comments as to size or mods for running a Villiers on an AMC bike? Thanks......

Can anyone please gve me advice about whether to use a clutch with an AMC gearbox without a cush drive, ie NEB. Is it a good idea, will using a clutch without a cush knacker the gearbox? Thanks

Just been at the Trialsday.com training course today with my Ossa MAR and whilst i can wholeheartedly recommend the course, the Ossa let me and itself down by dying. It had been starting first kick, running sweetly and i was really enjoying it until it died. It was drizzling, which may be important. Back at the car i stripped the carb, flushed out all the jets and every now and again it would pop or fire up but wouldn't sustain life. Once i got home, a 2 hour drive it fired up instantly. The course was the first time it had been used in anger since a full rebuild by Steve Sell so guess seals should be fine. I'm thinking water in the period metal kill button or t…

Does anyone have any personal contact with Bill Beveridge? as he doesn't seem to enjoy communicating via phone calls and emails and I'm getting a bit frustrated to say the least trying to get hold of him. Hi Guy's. I am fuming. Another blow to the Super Cub Trials Projects. Behind the scenes some of us in this country UK. Have come up with the idea to build a cheaper to produce home build Classic styled trials Machine. But there seems to be total dislike in what we set out to achieve by the whole of the trials organising committees across the land, and even the motorcycling authorities. Why? Is there a commercial interest somewhere that I don’t know about? That is backing a campaign against what we were setting out to do? I am not sure if this little bike qualifies as a classic but it looks like a late 1970`s or early 1980`s bike to me I know of a cheap old Montese Cota 50 for sale but the seller does not know which year this ol bike is made. The bike starts and drives The bike is missing the rear fender and a side cover on the engine from what i can tell from looking at the pictures Any fellow member here that knows which year this bike was made?
