Hello, I have a Beta Rev 80 which is surging/cutting out at high throttle/WOT. It is stalling for amoment, then picks up before stalls again.. I have cleaned carburettor and nozzles, i have checked float level, tried changing needle positions, changed gasoline and ensured fuel supply is ok. Changed spark plug. Checked air filter. I have no idea what can be the problem. I have not checked ignition timing, i dont even know how the ignition works. Any tips wold be appreciated, i still suspect the carburettor float or similar. Regards Oddemann

I am considering decreasing the bar width on my Rev-3 to 30 inches from 33 inches to match the width of my enduro bike bars. I have trouble adjusting to the increased width when I ride the Beta in the trails and my knuckles do not like the trees very much. Does anyone do this and what, if anything, would I loose from doing this?

Probably my dumbest question yet, but big-bore two-stroke Beta Zero with short left-hand-side kick-starter doesn't make for easy firing up. 1) Are there longer kick start levers available? 2) If so, does it make them easier to start? Or do i just carry around a folding step ladder?

In the attached photograph of a Beta, being ridden by a works rider, there is an interesting object in the intake area. Could it be a fuel injection system?

  5. Hi there. Just upgraded my old 2012 Evo for a newer 2020 model. It already has a press type kill switch fitted. On my old 2012 bike I replaced the dreaded original frame mounted kill button / headlight switch unit with a lanyard type kill switch. I loved it and it saved me on many occasions when I parted company with the bike. However I constantly felt it was easier just to stall the bike rather than pull the lanyard every time I wanted to stop the engine in a non emergency setting. So on this bike I want to fit a lanyard kill switch as well as the standard kill button. I have taken a photo of the existing kill button wiring. I was planning on just cutting into the …

Sorry, i'm sure this has most probably been on here before, but i want to know peoples veiws on the Beta Evo 4T 300, against a standard Montesa 4RT. I'm on my second 4RT now and had a 08 Beta Rev4 in between, as much as i liked the Rev4, i found that the 250 engine just somewhat under-power. So what's your actual experiences, (experiance please, now't with this armchair expert stuff . Regards GaffaMont.

ey up Been out on the Beta for a bit tonight, and have a small problem occur The bike started fine then with a little speed (10mph or so) developed a timely 'tick' which makes me think it may be something on the chain BUT as this was going on the bike started going funny & cut out. Someone i spoke to at swaine was telling me Betas may tick when running low on fuel as he said this the carb peeeeed fuel out of the overflow! Now this is my first Beta, only ever had GasGas' can anyone shed any light on it? thanks Elliott

I have been riding my 07 Rev 3 250 with the pre load in forks and shock maxed out as this is what it recommends in the owners manual for the forks for my weight (over 80 Kilo as I'm 15.5 stone) there is no mention for the shock so I maxed that out as well. There was 3/4" bike on ground fork sag but no rear sag set up like this also I've had rebound screws front and rear completely undone. Sag on the rear was about 3.5" with me aboard the bike From what I've read the spring rates if stock arnt the correct rate for my weight which I'm not really keen on changing as I'm only a beginner and have chucked a possibly unnecessary good few quid at it already, but I would like t…

  17. hi Folks, i think my engine is broke, i ran out of fuel so went to reserve and after re-starting it never sounded quite right, when accelerating and backing off there is a knocking noise which sounds like its coming from the bottom of the engine but could be any where. It feels like i'm down on power and the power is also not as smooth. any suggestion what i should look for, i always think the worse so hopefully one of you guys can point me in the right direction. Cheers Paul

My 2004 rev3 250... My fan will not kick in?? I have tried bypassing the thermostat by connecting a piece of wire between the thermostat terminals and reconnecting the wires to the terminals but the fan does not work. I have tried wiring the fan directly to 12v supply and it spins great? I am now confused - any suggestions?????

Recently aquired a 2002 Rev3 and dont have much motorcycle experience. Last week I changed the clutch case on the bike due to a crack under the skid plate rubber. On my first ride with the new cover I rode a new spot and there was a river crossing. I didnt realize how depp the water was till it was too late to turn around, it may have been 18-20" deep. So, I crossed and all was fine and rode around the area for about 30 minutes and decided to head back across to get to my truck. On the way back I crossed it just fine and about 20 feet out of the water the bike slowly died. I kicked it a few times and it would turn back on for about 2 seconds and die. I walked the bike bac…
