I picked my new-to-me Evo 250 yesterday and just spent a couple of hours in the garage with it. Unfortunately I won’t get out to play tomorrow as planned because the air filter was filthy and has to be washed and re-oiled. Then while continuing the general check over, I found the gearbox sprocket was sloppy on the splines. Is that to be expected?

Hey all... I did a quick search and didn't find anything about this... Is there anyone that sells complete or partial bolt kits for Beta? More specifically I am looking for a kit for a 2002 Rev 3 270... I am in the USA... Any help would be appreciated!!

Hi, I am unsure as to what oil to put in my beta techno 250, I’ve done some reading and it seems to suggest 80W? But I’ve just dropped the oil and it looks a lot like ATF? Any help would be much appreciated! :D

Got new piston in, 2 new spark plugs and still no joy of it. Wet plug after few kicks.... Is this can be CDI unit problem??. not too sure never had beta before. Or any other ideas?? Any help is welcome :) Cheers

Hi all, I am hoping someone can offer me some advice. I have recently bought an old 98 techno. On following directions from many forums, I have concluded that the stator is shot. Either I send it off to WCWindings for a re-wind, or I purchase something new. Obviously due to the age of the bike I am struggling to find the correct stator. I have found a stator for Beta Rev 3 on the “Inch Perfect Trials” website. Question is - will this work on my Beta Techno with my current CDI? Or will it work if I change my current CDI to match the new Rev 3 stator. Thanks in advance for taking time to respond! I have attached link to the new stator below. https://inchperf…

First off, want to say thanks to everyone who has helped me out with technical info as ive asked a hell of alot of questions recently! and heres another! A few months ago I stripped the forks on my 06 Rev 3 and after reassembly they worked great. however the fork seals now need replacing again and after stripping the forks I have found that one of the springs has sort of intermingled with the other. so my question is, what order do the parts go into the fork leg? I thought I got it right first time around but I must have slipped up somwhere. the order I had it in was: Small Spring First Then the Large Spring Then the small plastic peice (with the metal ring facing d…

Hi Fellas Just bought an 03 270 and wondered if there were any web links to manuals etc. failing that any info on carb settings pre-mix oils / ratio, maintanence tips would be helpful. I got the bike from a mate it hasn't done much we're both more into enduro's. Only had a quick go round his garden on it and on his new 07 250 couldn't tell that much difference really. Need to change the fork seals, are they easy to do I've only done them on upside down ones before. Cheers Steve!

I've searched high and low for the answers to these questions, but have drawn a bit of a blank.....could be i'm not looking in the right places but the older beta bikes dont seem to have a lot of info kicking about. Firstly, i broke the front brake lever today and have been looking on ebay for a new one, but all the ones i've come across specify for AJP type master cylinders. What the hell is an AJP type cylinder and how does it differ from a regular one? And is a 97 techno 250 fitted with one? Secondly, my clutch is as grabby as hell at all times - pull in the clutch and the bike just keeps on rolling. I've tried all the 'freeing the clutch' techniques i've found on he…

Anyone here who would tell me what carb setup to use with new 2008 250cc Keihin? Its brand new and wont work at all in low revs and stalls when even little bit in an angle. I have strong feelings its the float level, but would help to know what needle position to use, which jets and how much I should open the mixture screw. And this bike is not the first ones that were equipped with manufacturers note "please change the needle and jets to make it work". Nope.... my friend has one and its working nicely, mines not.... and he didnt even touch the carb although instructed so.

After about 2 hours riding today, I tried to start my bike (2008 250 rev3) & it wouldn't start. I checked for a spark at the plug and there was nothing. I tried a new plug and still nothing. I checked the engine kill switch with a multimeter and this operated ok, "making" and "breaking" fine. I checked all the connections and they seemed secure. Im not sure where to go looking now. How can i test the ignition module? Should I check anything on the ignition coil behind the flywheel? any advice is helpful guys

My shock has been leaking oil for a few months now and the yellow bumper has slid down from it's seat at the top of the shock where you usually can't even see it. Now I'm in Canada, Vancouver B.C area, close to mountain motorsports (Brett and Bob Clark). Bob told me he can order parts for the shock but it's finding a guy who knows what he's doing to fix it. I"ve also heard I believe through here about a shock replacement program. You send them your old shock they will send one to you??? Who knows about that? Would they send a shock to Canada? Can someone fix mine? How much $$$$$ are we talking? Thanks, Chad

I am currently putting 100ml of oil to every 5 litres of fuel. I thought it was semi synthetic but looked and its non synthetic at all. It smokes a lot mostly on start up but still smokes white smoke when running normal. What ratio should I use as i presume its runnign too rich. Thanks

Hi iv got a beta rev 3 on a 2003, when I put her under load ie up hill climbs the engine knocks, could this be a fuel grade prob or timing? I use unleaded but Iv read that Beta's like a higher grade fuel to run better, any experiences on this? Re timing any views on this? Thanks

I recently had to replace the stator on my Rev3 200. On the first ride out there was some very serious knocking...at this point I don't remember if it was off throttle or if it was also bogging on throttle. Raising the needle two steps to full rich resolved the severe problem. (This is also about the time it got hot and very dry in northern CA so would include a change to summer gas.) Now I get some fairly minor repeat knocking and a little rolling of engine speed when cutting the throttle. Cutting throttle, it feels a little lean but applying throttle there is no bog or knock. It runs OK but not great. I had a Sherco 2.9 that would knock just once sometimes when c…
