My 2007 Beta Rev 3 250 has always felt just not right at the bottom end. Couple of blokes yesterday mentioned it just dosen't sound 100% - thing sounds like it's fighting itself. Plug is slightly sooty but never had a problem with it oiling up. Generally the bike runs ok. Running the mix at 75cc of 2 stroke per 5 litres of fuel. I removed the carb yesterday, its running a 150 main, 30 pilot and the air screw was sitting at 3/4 of a turn out. Any advice on the carb settings before I start tweeking. Cheers

Hi, I cant find any info to see whether my clutch plates are worn below there minimum thickness and don't know what thickness a new set is? and also minimum clutch spring length, I have it all apart so thought I would do it while I'm here. Its a shame Beta don't seem to have this sort of info printed anywhere or that I can find any way I saw a link on here the other day for Evo spec's but there isn't anything for the Rev 3 and knowt in the owners manual. Can I use the specs for the Evo on the Rev 3? If any body can help please do, If not I will contact Beta and post results. Cheers.

Can't seem to find a download of the 2007 Rev 3 250cc user manual? The Beta website only has 2008 but according to the following link a 2007 manual should be around somewhere: http://trialstribula...roducts_id=1278 Anyone have a PDF of that manual or have a link to where I can download one? Thanks :-)

Hi Guys, I am new to the Trials world and recently bought a "like new" 2007 Rev 3 from a guy on the internet...yeah, yeah, I know but I have had great luck in the past...and have been going through it to right as many wrongs as I can before the snow melts. Coming from the Enduro/Hare Scramble world, I always adjusted the steering stem so the bars would automatically fall to one side or the other but on this bike, the bars will not turn without a constant push. Before I pull the front end apart, I thought I would check to see if the stiff turning is an adjustment preferred by Trials guys? Thanks in advance -

I am new to the Trials world and bought a "like new" Rev 3 and with the help of this forum, I have been working my way through a number of issues stemming from a "like new" bike. Went to change the tires this weekend and believe I have discovered the reason as to why the front went flat and when I pulled the rear off, the valve stem gave way to a cup of green slime draining out. Referencing the attached photo, I would appreciate thoughts on the best way forward, such as: Is it worth trying to save and rebuild the rims? If I get new wheels, should I go with the Morads or is there a better alternative? New hubs or try to leverage existing hubs/ …

I seem to be having some bad luck with a 2007 Rev 3 250 I bought a few weeks back, I have only rode it for about 7 hours in total on 3 occasions and its played up in some way each time. 1st time out I couldn't get it started, unbeknown to me the stock kill switch sticks on which a helpful person where I was riding pointed out but the next day and from then on it wont start unless the lights button was depressed as well. 2nd time out I found that when I shut off the throttle it takes about 10 seconds for the revs to drop to idle speed and there's pinking at low revs, another kind gentleman where I was riding advised me there might be an air leak on the intake and to serv…

Can anyone tell me the diameter of the pistons in the AJP brake and clutch lever assemblies? Also can anyone tell me IF there is supposed to be a thin "washer" under the circlip that holds the pistons in the assembly. Last time I had mine apart I THINK I remember that the circlip ID was large enough to let the piston come out (therefore a thin washer was needed)- but I may not have had the correct circlip??? ANY help much appreciated.

Hi First time for me on these forums and soon to be first time for me on a Beta after 12+ years on a Gasser I have been a Gas Gas rider since 1995 and always loved them, however with maintenance time becoming scarce I have decided to move to the less time/maintenance intensive Beta. Having ridden a 250cc and a 270cc I have ordered a 270cc, primarily as it appears to offer more low down grunt and grip (please correct me if I am wrong on this!) I have heard people discussing the carb issues on the Rev3's and am now wondering a) exactly what the issues are?? and what I need to ensure is done to the carb before I collect my shiny new bike?? I have spoken with the …

Recently got this bike and it does a fair bit of knocking especially after revving it when the engine is coming back to idle. Gets worse when it is warm. Stripped and cleaned the carb but it hasn't made any difference really. It has a 48 pilot jet in a keihin carb. If I turn the air screw right in it goes away but it doesn't sound right and no power (strangely enough). Looking for suggestions to try next....

I have just purchased myself a 250 beta 2008. i have moved up from a 2007 sherco 125. I will start off by saying that the new bike is fantastic, it is a great feeling to be able to ride a section on the bottom end, as opposed to the door bottom end of the 125. the ballance is amazing and the POWER is fast and pleantyfull, what an improvment on the 2007 beta and the sherco. the air filter is not soaked after EVERY ride like my sherco(super poor designing)(all the mods were done and then some more), no mucky carbs aswell, and you can put petrol in the tank without worriying about rediculusly placed stickers that will crumble at the whiff of petrol. only one problem, the f…

About every 3rd or 4th ride, when I start the bike, it runs rough. Poor idle. Like the timing is messed up. I ride it around for a while - that seems to help. Other times, it starts right up, idles excellent. I noticed a couple of comments from other Beta 4T owners having the same problem. If anyone else had this problem with their Rev 4T - how did you correct it?

Hey guys, My beta 2008 beta Rev 3 270cc has started making quite a loud knocking noise from the engine it's sounds like it's coming from the top end. Also when I've removed to spark plug it has a black, wet (sort of oily) residue on the plug I don't know if this has anything to do with the noise but I know the spark plug shouldn't look like that. Anybody got an idea what the problem(s) are? Thank you in advance Jordan

Hi Guys, I have a 2008 Beta Rev 3 & have a set of 20mm bar risers fitted - only trouble i have is that the throttle cable does not seem to be long enough, so I have to run it with the throttle housing twisted round - to give the cable more slack. Has anyone else had same problem? - i am after a longer cable, i have spoken to Lampkins, but they say they only have standard ones. Can anyone help?? thanks in advance

I am thinking about getting a second hand Beta rev 4 2008. Are there any problems with this bike ie stators? I did a search and someone asked the same question seem to be some problem with kickstarters and maybe gearbox problems but overall everyone said there rev4 was still going strong is that still the case. I rode a 2008 rev3 250 i liked it. Is there that much of a different between the rev4 and the evo4? I am only a clubman /c grade rider I don't need a powerful bike.

Hi: I am looking at replacing my Scorpa SY250F and I found a very nice looking 2008 Beta Rev 4T. I did some research on the bike and it looks like a pretty solid bike save a couple of easy fix items (kickstarter and hot start). Price wise, I was wondering what is the going price on these. The bike looks like really low hours, and probably a 8 or 9 out of 10 cosmetically. Any guidance? Oh yeah, that in the USA (!). Thanks.
