Hi all I'm starting to get on well with my EVO 290 now and want to get the bike sorted in terms of a suspension service (new oil, seals and bushings). Does anyone have a link to a step by step tutorial on servicing the forks? I've done the forks on my KTM a few times, so I'm familiar with the basics. I'd also like to know if there are any special tools needed for the job? Lastly, the suspension settings page in the manual is completely incomprehensible. I'd like to set everything to standard and go from there but after reading the manual I have no idea where to start

Hi guy's. I have a 2009 beta evo 290 which has started guzzling fuel, around 2-3 litres an hour. There is no leaks I can see with engine running or not and the carb is clean with floats set. Not had bike long so I'm not really sure about power but it doesn't feel much better than my old rev3 200. Any info, help, ideas would be welcomed and appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hi i've owned a 2009 beta evo 4T for 6 months now but am finding it hard to get to grips with. The clutch seems to be like an on off switch not giving me much control. When in a situation where i need to use the clutch its so aggressive when released I lose traction. The bike had been fitted with a 10t front sprocket before I bought it. I wondered if this was how the latest bikes are or if it is a problem with the bike? Thanks Barry

Hi, Could anyone please tell me if John Lampkin is still replacing cracked frames and swinging arms on 2009 bikes. If so do you know how long for? I am looking to buy an Evo and not sure which bike to go for? I am concerned that if I buy a 2009 model that hasn't had the frame replaced it perhaps won't be long before it cracks. I was going to wait to buy a tidy 2010 or even a new 2011 but now have plans for a Twinshock bike aswell!! The lesser cost of a 2009 would enable me to get both bikes. Thanks, Steve.

Hi, Can anyone help please. I bought a side stand off ebay that was suppossed to be for a 2009 evo. I can't see how it fits as I have two vertical holes on the back of my swing arm but the stand appears to have two horizontal holes. Therfore I think I have a 2010 on side stand. Does anyone have a picture of what the 2009 side stand should look like at all. I mailed the supplier whho told me it should fit any Evo, My understanding was that the 2009 had a differant mount as the 2010 onwards had the swing arm changed to make it stronger?

Hi folks, Just bought myself a 2009 beta evo 290 ..... The suspension set up as standard is obviously designed for younger ,ahem, fitter riders.... I myself am a fine figure of a man and a half at 17 stone and I'm thinking of going for the heavier rear spring upgrade as well as the heavier front spring.... Has anyone else been down this route and can you offer any advice ? I've seen the springs f sale at around

Hi all I picked up a neat Evo 290 on the weekend ( will be getting a slow throttle for it). The previous owner says it is a 2009 model, but it has a black frame and plastics which would indicate it is a 2011 model. Can anyone confirm what it is for me please? image is attached

Cheerio, Bought a 2010 Beta 80 for little money, in a shabby condition. It's been restored with much TLC to it's former glory, including freshly painted frame, all new bearings, new clutch, new small end, chain set, replaced ton's of broken parts, and fresh plastic body parts all around. Last bits and pieces, and I'm finished, and my 10yo can finally make the transition from his Oset 20". BUT. Last evening I kept searching for the correct mounting point for the rectifier, but wasn't able to find one. Anybody that can point me in the right direction? Greatly appreciated! Yours truly, Vincent

Has anyone heard about next years Evo? I know the Evo's haven't been out that long, but I'm eagerly awaiting to see what changes they will bring out for 2010. So if anyone has heard anything please let us know! Reason being, I'm looking at getting one near the end of the season. Although, if there isn't going to be much change to the bike it might not be worth the wait till Dec or Jan before we get them over here. But if there is, I guess I'll wait. Thanks

Evening Folks, I've a 2010 Beta Evo 290, it died the other day and no amount of doing stuff will bring it to life, Iv'e checked spark, had the carb off and cleaned, set back to factory settings, put fresh fuel in, got bags of compression. Iv'e heard that the woodruff key holding the flywheel in place can shear, causing spark timing to be out.#Anybody know what size the puller is, everything I can see advertised is for a REV 3 or a post 2015 EVO, would my 2010 EVO be the same as a REV 3, M30x1.5? Many Thanks, Tom

Hello, this is my first post on here so be gentle! I'm new to trials and have bought a 2010 250 Evo. I've done a handful of trials and I'm steadily improving but every now and again the bike revs out of control. I've simply hit the kill switch and there's been no drama but I've checked all the obvious stuff and put it down to the throttle cable getting trapped? Is this a well know problem or am I missing anything? The bike has proved to be fantastic other than that ,but I' have no idea if this was a good choice as a first trials bike? It certainly has plenty of power and I have added a slow action throttle which has given me a bit more control. Any suggestions for …

Hi! I’m wondering if a 2010 Beta rim will fit on a 2001 Beta Rev 3? There is a guy selling a complete rim for a cheap price and my rim is broken. Stupid question I know… but I don’t have the knowledge. Best Regards!

I have just trawled through the BETA threads to find an answer to a mud problem but couldn't find anything (easily) so apologies if this has been asked too often... My 2010 Evo has the standard factory fitted white mudguard and mudguard stay (on the forks) and the other day we went riding when the frost was coming out of the ground - liquid gloop everywhere. We were constantly having to clean off the rad screen to prevent a boil-up happening and I want to sort this out before we do have a bigger problem. What do you guys do? I've heard that fitting a standard 4 - 5 inch long mudflap catches on the welded seam of the exhaust (under fork compression) and can snap the mudg…

Hey all, Short version: How often would you recommend replacing the front fork spring in these forks? Long version: After 10 hours of riding I'm starting to pick out certain things I know feel kind of wrong. My first find was definitely the rear suspension. I'm currently overweight (100 kg, looking at getting down to ~80 kg) and this is way too much for the rear spring to handle. With nearly maximum preload the bike is still settling into around 97mm of race sag and out of spec with static sag, which from what I've read tells me the spring needs to be replaced with something stiffer, the rear is just too sloppy and gives me little spring/support for basic log hops. W…
