Please help me as I've drawn a blank. My front brake felt a bit spongy so I thought i'd bleed the system and get any air out. I've bled hundred of brakes but just can't seem to get any real pressure back in the system. It just about starts to apply the pads when the lever is pushed right in. Also what comes out of the nipple doesnt seem to be as big as usual.The brakes were fine before I bled them so I'm certain it's not the seals. I havent adjusted the levers at all. Could it be a blockage ? Usually when I bleed the front brake you see a few little bubbles in the resevoir but I havent seen any. Could there be a blockage here ? I realise that this has been done before, its just that having read the other posts about their Techno's about this, some people mention using spacers. Where would you put them as the exhaust is mounted to the inside of the subframe, so any spacers would move the exhaust towards the wheel? Other than bending back (exhaust or subframe) I guess there's not much else that can be done? Cheers Loomesy

Hi folks, As above I've got water in the gearbox oil of my Beta Rev 3 250 (2005). Changed the oil, but back again immediately. My thinking is it's probably a water pump seal, but thought I'd garner opinion before stripping it down. Bike runs OK, and no overheating, so I'm assuming it's not a cylinder head gasket or O-ring up the top end. Any other potential causes or advice? Cheers, Paul

i am thinking about selling my bike and i want to remove the heavier duty rear spring i ve been using does any one know the measurement i compress the old spring to ? its 2010 beta evo 300 4t jsp

I bought a Rev3 270 recently and the p.o. had some red colored oil in it, said it was Honda oil or something. So what works well in these bikes? My KTM runs Rotella 15/40 in the tranny. My old 2smoke ran Maxima gear oil but it would cause the clutch to squeal if I abused it. So what is the oil of choice in my Beta?

Hi guys bought a 2010 evo 250 a lot of weeks back and when i go hard up a long hill i get a dirty smell from exaust.. i dont seem to be loosing any gearbox oil as i was thinking crankshaft seal was gone maybe..bike pulls and runs really well not fouling plugs etc.. Im baffled in whats causing this i have put new air filters in unoiled to c if it goes away.... still there... this does not happen all day long its worse the first 20 mins of riding and only appears after giving it the welly higher gears.. im using putoline mixed 70ml to 5 litres.. smells like sum kind of oil burning and smells like hay burning sometimes too if thats anything to go by lol thanks guys give m…

Big learning curve with this 98 250 as i have no manual to help with maintanance, what oil should i be putting in the gearbox and how much there is a transparent bolt at the bottom of the casing is this a sight glass for the level? i have also been kicking it over today and there seams to be sooty/oily black petrol coming out of the tail pipe of the exhaust each time i kicked it over. How can i tell year of beta 50. Going to look tonite at one..liquid cooled, discs. Told its 2004. Any sign on frame eng numbers or date stamps on plastics rims etc.

Son is riding international class and bike needs to weigh 154lbs.Specs say 146 dry wt.Has anyone no what wt bike is with gas and oil.Not a real easy way to get this figured out.And what material do all use and where to put on bike.Seems down low by engine sump guard most likely.Any Ideas? hi lads, I dont seem to have a spark in my beta techno, its a 99 b6. The bike started getting hard to start 3 weeks ago after washing, you could kick it 20 times and it will not start then just go on the next kick. If i stall or turn it off during a spin it will be the same trying to get it started again. Iv cleaned the carb and fitted a new plug, i have fuel, clean and oiled filter and tons of compression. I removed the new plug and could not see any spark turning it over by hand so i held the plug while turning it and I didn't even get a small shock. I did a few searches and it lead me to this forum and so i checked decided to check the stator, I disconnected the con…

I have now managed to get my sons Rev3 running after a stator rewind and new CDI. However with the choke off the engine speed seems to surge at low speed,ie not smooth and consistent. With the choke on it seems to be a lot more stable, and when I put the choke off again engine speed increases! I have removed and cleaned carb, even checked inlet boot for splits and even removed manifold gaskets, cleaned and reinstalled, yet problem still exists. Any ideas??

I was just wondering if anybody knows if a Beta rev 3 wheel will fit an Evo ?

Hi, Recently bought a 2011 290 Evo and was wondering can you tell what the CC is without opening the barrel ? bike came with 2012 plastics so it looks just like a 2012, from what i'm told Beta stopped making the 290 in 2011 and from 2012 onward only the 300 version. I would really like to know if its a 290, 250 or even if it is a 300?? for personal piece of mind and in the case of resale. I've also checked the frame number and ,as I'm led to believe, the 10th digit being a "B" would indicate i's a 2011 bike. Any advice greatly appreciated.

Sorry for a newbie question, but is it possible to reach that adjustment screw (rear compression adjustment) without disassembling the linkage or rear fender parts? I can't even find where is this screw located.

Just had the Silent Block break on my Beta. Yep...thats what its called...but to a simple guy like me..its a rubber mounting from the mid exhaust to the rear sub-frame. Anyway....the reason I'm telling you Rev 3 people this...is because the replacement part doesn't cost too much...and I will ALWAYS carry a spare now...because its a right pain to try and make a bodge repair....(actually I cannot come up with one that doesn't leave my exhaust rattling around). AND...apparently its fairly common for them to break.

my 2000 rev 3 was running very sick back fireing coughing and spluttering.changed the plug no good. cleaned the carb much better but now when using wide throttle openings it miss fires or 4 strokes. When stripping the carb checked the air jet ( looking from filter side this is the small hole at the bottom of the carb inlet) mine is stright thro. The Mikuni VM manual shows a jet, should there be a brass jet or something in there?

Has anyone out there fitted a KIEHIN PWK carb to a beta rev 3.If so what jets and settings did you use and did it make any difference.Thanks

I have a hole in the right side of my airbox that needs to be fixed/sealed to prevent unfiltered air from getting into the intake. Can anyone tell me what the air box is made of and/or what would be a good product/material to adhere to it for a long term fix. THANKS!
