Hi, Can anyone tell me what their thoughts are about the Beta 270 Rev3 2006 bike. Is this more difficult to ride than a 250 for someone who is fairly new to trials. Are they reliable. Thanks.

Never owned a Beta until now, done a few changes like the wheels and a sticker kit may look to do a bit more soon. Compared to my Gas Gas the Beta is very stable, smooth and surprisinly easy to hop. The Gas Gas has the Beta in situations like deep mud, the Gas Gas will launch whereas the Beta will bog down - but its still early days.

Hi I'm a TC virgin so be gentle....just picked up an 07 270 Rev 3. Quick check list of consumables compiled (bearings, pads, lubes, etcetera...) and parts overnighted from one of my favourite main dealers. On setting up the swingarm to press out the u/s pivot bearings I noticed a crack full width of the drive side needle bearing knuckle. Didn't take much pressing out; both bearings pretty much fell out with a gentle push. Crack then closed up and was barely visible. No other significant damage or bends visible anywhere else on the swingarm. Has anyone else come across this before? I have considered prepping the crack, tig welding and reaming the knuckle out to toleranc…

Hi All I'm thinking seriously about buying a new Beta 250 or 270. I'm new to modern trials bikes (i've ridden vintage trails bikes for years) and would appreciate any input on the differences between the two models as far as performance etc. I'm 48 years old weigh 200lbs and am a decent rider. Thanks

Ive got carb problems with an 07 270 rev3. Its fine apart from on recovery after a handful of throttle when it sounds like its short of fuel. If you park it on idle with the front wheel up an incline it practically stalls. Tried the usual including mixture screw, carb clean , new plug, new fuel, clean filter . Could it be float height? Its set as per the carb mods on the R2W site but has been for a while.

I have an 07 250 but am really struggling to get the carb set up right,. The symptoms are as follows: Start of a trial it will run well until it gets really hot when it then appears to run lean by pinking and hunting for fuel. To give an exact example, yesterday during a Trial the bike was running fine until a muddy 3rd gear burn up steep bank which then left the bike pinking and hunting for fuel which carried on for some time. The only way I could seem to overcome it (but not completely) was to let it cool down slightly. I have tried changing the float height and adding the large Nut to the bottom of the float bowl. Any suggestions would be much appreciated? T

Out riding today with my friend on his new 07 250 Rev3, me on a 06 270 Rev3. Gave the 07 a go: Definitely noticed more bending of stance and more weight on the hands and more of a cramped riding position. We did a quick side by side check with a measure stick. Not 100% sure but it seems that the 07 foot peg height was about 1/2 inch higher and 1/2 forward from 06. Bar height seems to be the same from year to year. Granted, not a completely accurate measurement but we both noticed there is a feel of a more compact riding position. Maybe a good thing for my friend who is 5'6" but I , 6'0" perferred the 06 stance. I wonder if 1/2" back and 1/2" lower pegs are in the …

Good day gents My rev has a few hours on it and the clutch seems a bit odd It works as it should but the engagement is over a very short range of motion of the lever This makes slipping the clutch in a critical spot hard, you have to concentrate too much in your clutching It seems like it engages over about 10 - 15 mm of lever motion Any solutions to increase the range of lever travel ? Thanks

Hi - buddy of mine with a 07 Beta 270 needs the proper spec for the torque on the flywheel nut. (Sheared Key) He couldnt find it listed in his manual. I used the TC search function and found a few responses for techno's, (140nm - seems pretty high), and didnt see threads with listed figures for the rev 3 (lots of threads on sheared keys - but no numbers that I found) . Anyone have the factory spec for the 07 270. Thanks for your help.

my pals 07 rev 3 250 overheated yesterday under strange circumstances. any help on the causes will be appreciated. a small amount of white emulsion - ie spoonfull came out of one of the crankcase breathers. thought nothing of it as it has sat for a long time and presumed it would be a little condesated water and oil. soon after it started to knock in fuel starved type way. rad was not blocked, fan was working (that we can remember) and it should have never have got hot enough to overheat in that time. the outside of the cylinder has very slighty disclooured and it has got very hot in about 1 mile of unavoidable riding. it has not seized. it has not been stripped down yet …

Hi I was wondering if anyone is using aftermarket plastic (or if its even available) on the rev3's. The stock plastic seems a bit fragile to say the least. I have managed to keep mine intact, but I know that total destruction is just a twist of the throttle away. Any input would be appreciated. Ken
