Since i, ve got the bike i always had to refill water every time i rode, but lately it started spilling more, the water is always refilled correctly,i do not know from where the water scapes, but theres always some in the cylinders head and all around, maybe thats only part of it when it is overcharged. Hi all I have two Climber 240 (91 and 92) in Japan. I am in the middle of my change the front fork oil project. I have some questions. 1. Oil level measurement (mm?) from the top of fork edge? 2. How much does each fork needs the oil (Aprilia manufacturer’s recommended ) 3. Recommended degree of viscosity. I have just striped down my aprilia 280 climber 1992. There is a little bit of welding that needs to be done on the frame were the mudgaurd mount is, i was just wondering what the frame would be made of i would say steel but just wanted to ask to make sure? Also i need to stifen the suspension up because i am a big lad and the supspension keeps bottoming out and hiting the mudgaurd, i was wondering if i could have some advice on how to adjust this? There is a standard pump valve on it (the usual car tyre size) and i was wondering can this be pumped up with a standard pump or do i need a specialist? I would be greatful for anyother advice on little jobs i could do wast t…

Hi guys i'm new on here and to trials. I've just bought an aprilia 280 climber which to be fair is a great bike but i'm having abit of mither getting the front brake to really lock up properly. It has brand new pads and new dot 4 fluid with brembo lines but it has to be pumped up abit when i first go out on it until it starts working anything like it should. Also when i start the bike and put it in gear, the clutch drags slightly but then eases off as the engine heats up. Sorry for the long winded comment lol. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, Thanks.

Any links or places to purchase please? Need to see diagram of kickstart and gear select. My kickstart spindle can be pushed into caseing with no kickstart on, and gear lever just pulls out. 280 climber Many thanks

Hi, i am having a problem with my fork bearings and i wanted to know ith there has to be any typo of dust holder because i bought my bike used and i think there where previously dessambled by the other owner who changed them for some similar ones but did not worked. thankyou

I wanted to know how to regulate my aprilia climber's fork, it has two different "screws" or whatever they are called to regulate, one is in the gas bomb and the other is on the lower part of the spring, what do each of this things regulate? pd: sorry for my bad english

whats one of these worth on a 1991? its actually in really good condition and the motors sounds good. by the look of it ,it hasnt done much at all and the bloke wants rid, but i dont know what to offer. any ideas?

I've just bought a 1990 240 climber. The previous owner had a "throttle stuck open" moment before a tumble. He can't recall hooking the cable,is this a fault with a secondhand model? I'd also like to obtain a manual and spares in UK,is there a good dealer for these older bikes? Thanks

Hi All, does anyone have any idea what these are worth? are there any big issues with them? its a 92 , all there , all works as is should, needs a rear tyre (dont they all!) looks in better nick than a lot of 2002 bikes i have seen. any info at all cheers paul

hi.. new to this forum...here in new zealand i have one of the few 280r s around and have had to be self sufficient,, owned for 14 years!!! fork seals are 47-35-7/10 nd readily available.. pilot jet, runs best on a 320 size(had mine drilled by the local gas repair man as couldnt source a ldelorto, kickstart lever part number, use 81 35 325m shorter and better i have a climber parts list that aprilia italy sent me as there was no agent here and they suggested that i contact a florence italy shop called "centro ricambi" ....parts were cheap BUT i think that this shop has closed. engine is rotax and identical to the american ATK bikes except watercooled.... found bike …

Hi all. New here and looking for some help finding ignition parts for a older bike. Its a 1993 Aprilia 280 climber and the young one purchased it with no spark. I told him to make sure parts were still available before pulling the trigger. Unfortunately, , most all of the links showing spare parts were zombie ads and looking like I may need to help adapt a workaround for him if we are not able to find a drop in replacement for the CDI. The original stator coil that powers the CDI was rotten-open so we rewound it and it is generating good voltage now, the pickup is checking out also but still no spark so a CDI is also looks to be in need of replacement. My bike needs a new set of brake pads font and back (Aprilia climber 280 r) how easy is it to do and can any one give me any tips? or is there a video on youtube atall on fitting brake pads i have found loads for road bike on there but is this the same as a trials nike? I have also had to bleed all brake fluid out of the back brake does this make a diffrence and i have the fluid to fill it back up!! Many Thanks Henry

Can anyone help me? My 1988 Climber was reving very high. So I suspected an air leak. I replaced the flywheel side crank oil seal, and found a little bit of play in the main bearing that side. Now it only seams to want to run on choke, and still revs quite high. Any suggestions? I was wondering about the carb boot the that goes into the side casing??
