Taylorville Trials – Think 2013! The weather was pretty crazy on Saturday, including a brief hail storm(!) - -so I exited the truck with trepidation…we haven’t had a single puddle of mud in our extensive 5 months of trials competition in 2012. But, to my great relief, the grounds were damp and small amounts of water were in the creeks, but most of the event was mercifully dry. It was a gorgeous day in a fabulous setting to ride. The loop was wonderfully wide – much of it tractor roads up and down the shallow hills. The sections had an interesting variety to them – some were within rocky sheets of shale in shallow creekbeds; others were weaving patterns through trees in …

Plenty of parking areas for RV's, great terrain, and with the ITSA format 25 sections a day. Each class rides 10 sections within the 25, NO SPLITS, and 3 loops. Entry fees $25 per day for members, $35 for non members. Same old gang, different name, but THIS IS TRIALS, FOR TRIALS, BY TRIALS. Tony

  3. So as I prepare for a two week vacation in Europe starting this week I am reflecting on some of the cool things I will be missing and what I need to make my way to when I get back. In Michigan this weekend near Ann Arbor (Go Blue!) we have the crew from Whitmore lake aka Metro Trials putting on their event: http://www.motatrials.com/11-metro Also this weekend in Columbus IN is Stoney Lonesome... Epic property with a two day event that will leave you tired and a great smile on your face.... http://www.trialsinc.org/?trigger=sch2&ID=32 Then almost as soon as I get off the plane I'm off to just South of Lansing for the Michigan Vermontville event Mid Mich…

I'll be going down to Tish for the Rock Creek national (I'll be handling tech inspection for some reason) and as far as I know we will be using the new "Clubman" line. As we're the first Trial of the season, it will be very interesting as to how it works. I personally think it's a great idea and should open up competition for new riders who otherwise would not try a National event plus allow twinshocks to compete. I remember, as a noobie in the 70's, I signed up for my very first Trial at Hollister Hills in Northern California and found it pretty tough, but I did finish, sore and tired. Only later did I find out I had entered a U.S. National........ Jon

Real nice creek sections and some nice side hill rock sections. If you are coming out try and buddy up on transport as pit area is small, but should be able to get everyone parked. For anyone coming from the east on I-88 take the Sidney exit and go north on rt 8 a couple of miles to blinking lite take left turn on county rt 35 to guilford and onto Oxford. It will be arrowed from Oxford. Hope to see a good turn out.JR Here are a few pics from friday http://i268.photobucket.com/albums/jj3…

  16. What a great day we had today! 90+ riders, fantastic weather, great sections for morning & afternoon riders, and Pat Smage, too! The quarry was jumping with riders from Minnesota, Wisconsin, Missouri, Tennesee, Kansas, Oklahoma, & Texas (the pits were packed!). The annual bike launch went off smoothly as did dinner, too. Tomorrow promises more of the same. Dale Malasek brought the 2010 Gas Gas for everyone to see and it was nicely priced, too. If you couldn't make this year's event mark your calendar for next year! I'll try to post a picture or two later... Greg
