Gas Gas

  1. Started by kenny123,

i have a gasgas 2003 and i have discovered that mud and dirt keeps getting through into the airbox. this has caused me to have a completely new engine costing a lot of money. i was just seeing if anybody else has had the same problem or anything alike. is this a main fault with the 2003model?

Hi. I have an 03 Pro that won't idle for anything. Had carb off three or four times and cleaned everything. The idle circuit appears clean and I can run wire thru ever jet and hole I can find. The mid and top range seem fine, but the idle is starving for gas. It doesn't race at all, when choke is on, it idles sweetly, but after letting off the throttle it winds down to where it should idle, but quits without even trying. If I snap the throttle right before it quits, I can keep it running, but it has a flat spot ( that is typical of not enough gas). I have a vague recollection (It's been this way for a year) of the idle becoming less and less reliable, until fina…

Hi all, After refreshing my bike over the winter I replaced my head bearing, Had the bike out for a quick spanner and check over after a couple of trials and found the steering to be very notchie lock to lock, There is no play at all while holding the bottom of the forks and rocking back and forward. There is also free play lock to lock ? Thanks Deano.

Hi all, I have been trying to get a rear brake piston and seal kit for the HEBO caliper off my 2000 Gas Gas TXT 200. I have been waiting 8 weeks for Gas Gas UK to send the parts and they keep telling me they cant control when Gas Gas Spain sends the parts! I have been waiting months to ride and its annoying the hell out of me! I cleaned the pistons and polished them and tried cleaning the seals and caliper so they are perfect but the pistons still stick on the damaged old seals. Any ideas as to a possioble solution rather than wait longer? Would a different caliper fit? HELPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP!!! Cheers

Well, today I was glad to get my '01 txt 321 running again after an electrical problem. It was an easy fix - the plug had gone bad. As the bike was idling, I was working on plugging the kill switch wires back together, which I had taken apart during troubleshooting. I must have inadvertently put pressure on the throttle cable in the process, because all of a sudden the bike raced to Wide Open Throttle - and stuck there . There it sat - the engine spinning at whatever maximum rpms it's torquey little self could muster. I couldn't use the kill switch to stop it - the switch was still disconnected. I thought about putting it in gear and popping the clutch - as if p…

does anyone know any prices for a gasgas txt 2001 fuel tank as i have recently put a bad dent into it and would like to buy a new one if i could??

  9. I have an 2005 Gas Gas TXT 125 Pro that i have been standing since 2017 without being started. I tried to start the bike today but it would not start. The first thing i did was to check the for spark (which is okay) After that i took off the airfilter box and rear fender. I found an old hand pump spray bottle which i poored gasoline with 3% oil mixture in thinking of spraying fuel in to the carburettor. I am aware that it is supposed to be 2% but since the bike have not been started for a long time i decided to use 3% oil mixture. So the first time i tried to start the bike i sprayed in 2 spray pumps with fuel from the the spray bottle. This wa…

Hello, can anyone help! I'm looking to get my first trials bike and I had been very keen on the Gas Gas 250. Clearly they are a popular bike, though there doesn't appear to be a very wide choice when it comes to trials bike manufacturers! My concern with the Gas Gas is that I've heard that they can be more prone to problems than other manufacturers. I've heard that both frame and forks are 'weaknesses'. Please can anyone give me some experienced information to assist me with my final choice when it comes to splashing out the 'readies'. I'm looking to be spending around

just curious if any one has had a cold lock up. Loaded the bike outside temp wasabout -3C drove about 20 min and unloaded the bike. Went to kick the bike over and it was frozen like a seized motor. Removed the spark plug thinking it might be full of coolant but nothing. My riding partner then mentioned he had a propane torch after I mentioned it might be a cold lock up. After slowly heating the cylinder on all sides I started rocking the bike and slowly the piston started to move and then was free up completely. Reinserted the spark plug and first kick she flashed to life, let it idle until fan kick on and rode it all day with no problems. I thought I would just …

Is there a way to visually tell if a rim band needs to be replaced? See pics below. About 3 months ago I had to replace a few spokes which required me to remove and reinstall the rim band. I cleaned it up well including wire brushing the rim and put small dabs of green Slime on each spoke nipple and then coated the rim band in Slim before carefully stretching it back over the time. Tire held air fine until a few days ago when I noticed it was flat. Soapy water showed air leaking from several spokes. UPDATE I bought new rim band but having trouble getting one section to sit correctly in the "channel". I used just soapy water. Do you think this will seal …

When kicking the bike over you can feel it kind of "crunch" and engage normally, and occasionally the kickstart gets stuck halfway down, as if the teeth of the kickstart have popped out and havent engaged properly. Anybody have any advice on what will/might need replacing? I can take it all apart no problem, but unless its blindingly obviously broken I wont really know what needs replacing.

I have a 2015 TXT PRO 125 and feel the clutch is a bit heavy. Is there a remedy for this? I have seen the video on youtube of the 2009 model having the clutch plates thinned, is this the answer for the 2015 model also?

Don't know which to go for, had 280 but felt too much at high revs, like 250 pro 2006. Don't like other makes, Mont too much. Rode RTL back in the late 80's. Had a 93 250 and loved it.

Hi guys, firstly bear with me, couldnt find anything searching... Been a while, mainly messing with stupid cars (specifically crappy nissans) but its getting close to the manx so the old girl is coming out again for a bit of practice etc beforehand. So my problems, from last year are: Pinking on road / moorland runs, even with choke on, it also starts to slutter / cut out which suggests to me the float bowl is emptying., GGuk didnt have any #38 pilot jets for last years event so i left it alone. I suspect the waterpump is duff, though it never boiled over (i think) is it an easy enough job to change it for peace of mind ? Other than that she seems ok, would like …

But as it may be the only bike ill have for a long time i want to know if theres anything on the bike that may limit or difficult my learning curve or performance I mean, theres anything wrong with the bike compared to todays …
