My clutch sticks when not running and can usually be broken free but once in a while it is pretty stuborn. Would there be anything wrong with elastic or something to keep the clutch lever pulled while the bike sits so the clutch doesn't have the opportunity to stick. I saw that suggested for cars and wondered if it would be OK with the clutch springs on the OSSA. Thanks for any thought on this. Jim

I am just installing the updated shifter drum and new shift assembly into my 2012 - this will allow for easy finding of neutral and a little bit more strength in shifting. My question is about drilling an oil transfer hole. In the attached picture I mark two areas that are at the lowest portion of the tranny plate. Should I drill at A or B? What size hole? Oh, and should I use any thread locker on the tranny bolts? I used blue locktite last time and I nearly stripped a couple of them getting them out this time. (Torx T10 - sheesh - give me a break?!?!?) thanks

Anyone out there coming from a GasGas (or Beta for that matter) curious what differences are noticeable. Stability, grip, turning, power, typically reliability issues. These bikes remind me most of a GasGas. I'm wondering if they have the same light feel and neutral ergonomics, is the head angle overly steep (tendency to tuck) Read a lot on here where they grip well, one rider said pegs felt high compared to other bikes. Let's hear it!

If this topic has been discussed elsewhere, I could not find it. I'm curious how many bikes (and of what type) were actually produced. If the numbers are unknown, maybe we can estimate them from VINs? I think my 2011 280 was a very early arrival in the US. Its VIN ends in 165. Same with my 2014 250, its VIN ends in 35.

Hi, I have been having problems with my gearbox on the ossa. It started a few weeks ago where I couldn't change up from 2nd to 3rd. The gearbox came out and the selector drum was worn where the rollers turn it. I replaced this and rode last weekend. I managed to get into all the gears, but it needed repeated attempts to change. Also I noticed that there was a vibration coming from the gearbox. I now have the gearbox out again and notice how much movement the drive shaft (sprocket) has. It will lean left and right and also the shaft itself will move up and down. I wonder if this is normal? What holds it at the bottom (opposite end to the sprocket)? N…

Hi there all,new at this forum buisness so go easy on me,i thought i was close to buying a new OSSA TR280 (2012),but managed to get a ride on a 2012 model at a test ride day last week,i was very disappointed in the clutch drag the bike had and neutral was totally (unselectable)with the motor going ,i realize this has been a sore point on some or most of the bikes, just wondered what all you owners have done (oil type and adjustment wise) to overcome this problem? I have sent of emails to quiet a few dealers in a few countries and this is not an isolated problem, some have found the AJP master cylinders bypassing from new and need a repair kit installing and say you need to …

Some of you may or may not know this already, but for those of you that don't...rememebr to keep your steering head bearings fully greased. A quick and eay way to do this without having to take the headstock apart is to simply remove the front number place and then remove the two bolts holding the EFI capacitor in place, replace the bottom bolt finger tight to block the hole, then place a grease nipple in the top hole, attach your grease gun and pump the head full of grease. You can check to see how full it is by removing the bottom bolt at first and waiting until the grease pumps out, then replace he bolt and pump some more in. Very easy and certainly saves taking the …

Recently acquired an Ossa TR77 - well used but sound. Been standing for about 5 years. Initially it had no spark but I tweaked the points and they started to show life. The bike is not a good starter so I have some new points and a new condensor to fit tomorrow. The spark is good but it is not bright blue - hoping the new points will fix it. Got it running yesterday but it would not rev and kept bogging and backfiring in the exhaust. After a while it was running of a fashion but with cloud s of blue smoke which I hope was just unburnt fuel. What is the best plug for this engine. Is it possible to fit the mar engine into a gripper frame. On the carb there is a large ai…

I have researched the site before i get told off. I noted forum posts from 2008 from WOODY, ( TRIED TO SEND YOU A MESSAGE BUT IT WOULDN'T ACCEPT IT !! ) The original colour of yellow is RAL 1018, Zinc yellow, although some people say its to pale. I bought a can of 1018, primed it in grey and sprayed it, they were right a far paler shade than the one its wearing now. On speaking to other people i've been told that it needs a white primer. WOODY in 2008 you recommended, RAL 1021 , can you remember was it a white or grey primer. you used. Has anyone sprayed one up recently with a different opinion or RAL code. Thanks.

I’m working on a 2014 280 (Explorer)- inner O-ring is bad so I need new ones. The ones I got are too large. I think they are 82 mm and 104mm (have to measure diameter). Does anyone know the correct size and if any GasGas O rings are correct? Otherwise I guess I’ll have to source some Vitron O rings at Granger or something (States).

I have a 2012 TR280 running ECU 11 firmware and map #15. Just wondering if this is the latest map update for this version or have more been produced? I used to get updates from Bob at OSSA Canada but that is no longer an option. Australian distribution and back up is not much help at present either. Any suggestions? Cheers

Hi, last time out on the Ossa Mar it decided to pack up, after stopping, I tried to restart it but it would only kind of four stroke with the throttle wide open. Back home and the bike cooled down, it would start and run ok for a few seconds and then start four stroking and cut out. I changed the coil with a good spare one I had but still the same, when checking the spark it was very weak. So I ordered a new electronic ignition to replace the notoriously troublesome Motaplat electronic system, with the new ignition fitted the bike started first kick, the problem I have now is the bike lacks throttle responce to the point that it would be useless, on the old system it was …
