I changed the oil on our bikes at the weekend. On the 2011, I only got a dribble out of the drain plug, layed the bike over but didn't get much. Cracked the clutch cover as per directions on the Ossa Canada site and ended up with about 220ml of oil. The 2011 is also lacking a magnetic drain plug which I'm going to order. On the 2012, I didn't have to crack the clutch cover and got 220ml. I put 220ml back into both bikes and the oil is at the top of the glass. Does that sound right? The book says there is 350ml of oil in there which means I've changed less than 2/3 of the oil. I used the GRO Synthetic 10w/30 oil which seems to be recommended - I couldn't find the 7…

Can anyone tell me of the bore in the TR280i is Nikasil coated? In the parts book, there is 4 different piston kits: 6612020211--A 6612020211--B 6612020211--C 6612020211--D I presume these are over-size options which suggests to me the bore is not coated? I thought all modern bikes would be using the coating but the piston options have me doubting that.

  6. Some of you may or may not know this already, but for those of you that don't...rememebr to keep your steering head bearings fully greased. A quick and eay way to do this without having to take the headstock apart is to simply remove the front number place and then remove the two bolts holding the EFI capacitor in place, replace the bottom bolt finger tight to block the hole, then place a grease nipple in the top hole, attach your grease gun and pump the head full of grease. You can check to see how full it is by removing the bottom bolt at first and waiting until the grease pumps out, then replace he bolt and pump some more in. Very easy and certainly saves taking the …

Anyone have a manual for the forks? Dad is 60kg and only has 3cm of static sag, we are looking for about 6cm and apparantly there is some pre-load spacers that we can remove. I'd feel more comfortable pulling it appart if we had a guide.

Can anyone give me some sort of idea what kind of run time / mileage I can expect while trail riding on a TR280i? I've seen a few people mention running out of fuel and I'm a bit paranoid re-fueling at every opportunity but am thinking of doing a longer ride we normally do on the Enduro bikes and worried about the fuel situation.

Does any of the new Ossa owners have experience with riding at vastly different altitudes? Do you have to reprogram the fuel curve when you drastically change altitude? Can you make adjustments without owning the programming equipment or making a trip to a dealer?

Went to see a nice looking, clean 1976 Ossa tonight with the intention to buy. On first sight, looked better than the pictures, eventually fired up, sounded fine, revved well, engine sounded good, however......had three issues... 1) Despite sounding good had next to feck all drive ?? Like no matter what, it hardly went at all, chap said I might be in the wrong gear 2) Front forks were almost solid, like hardly any movement in them at all ?? 3) Brakes were almost non exsistent ? Now I have no idea about older bikes, but I did expect them to have a bit of go, but anyone care to offer a theory or two for issues 1 and 2 ? as I was already warned about Ossa brakes being …
