Triggered by a discussion in the GasGas forum: on an Ossa TR the rpm measurement is available from the ECU (according to documentation standard on CH1). Might be really simple to use that signal and transfer it to a digital display? Probably not really useful ( ) but could be a nice gadget. Did anyone ever consider it?

  2. As the title states, I'm looking for a particular TR250i map. The exact name of the map is "20130727_OssaTr250i_Evo2.rom" I have two ostensibly 2014 model year bikes. The early TR250i came with the EVO2 map. The later TR250i came with dual maps. I have tried all available maps and the one I prefer is EVO2. Does anyone have that map file? I have not seen anything between EVO2 and EVO6. So I'd be willing to try EVO3, 4, or 5 if they exist. Thanks in advance!

Was at Jim Hoellerich's museum this past weekend and saw two beautiful 1980 Yellow Grippers. I would like to know how these bikes compare to similar twin shocks and how well they perform in competition. Any information is appreciated.

Can anyone please tell me the correct amount of oil per leg needed for the OSSA TR77 which has the long leg Betor forks. Presumably these are similar forks to those fitted to the OSSA MAR mk3? Likewise the gearbox/clutch, amount & type.

Tearing down a 76 MAR and having trouble getting the threaded ring that holds the head pipe to the cylinder off. I've sprayed it with penetrating oil then hit it with a punch and hammer...no go. Assume it's a right hand thread but didn't want to bash on it too much in case it isn't. Not only does the threaded ring seem to be seized in the barrel, the pipe itself is loose. Perhaps there's a gasket missing or long since blown out? Heat and cool it with a propane torch maybe would loosen it up? Any tips out there?

Me again ;-) Sorry for all of the questions! The gas light is always on, but the tank is full...and I have gone through more gas than is just in the lower tank (2L I heard) and I haven't run out. Any ideas? BTW, the other lights work for blinkers and lights, so I don't think the bulb swapped position. I think there are only 3 bulbs (nothing in top right). I do see that there is a sensor in the bottom tank and appears to be connected to the correct light (green/black wire if I remember). Thanks!

  8. Hi I am rebuilding an OSSA MAR MK3 and am missing the felt seals and covers for the steering assembly upper and lower bearings. Any ideas where I can get them from. Also after lights and horn and switch, and, lights and speedo mounting rubber brackets. Gordy

Does any of the new Ossa owners have experience with riding at vastly different altitudes? Do you have to reprogram the fuel curve when you drastically change altitude? Can you make adjustments without owning the programming equipment or making a trip to a dealer?

New OSSA models. OSSA is launching a couple of new Trial models… In September it will be possible to get the new 125cc models. The TR125i Base will be a model with a bit cheaper suspention, but the priced a little under the TR280i model. The TR125i Racing, will be priced as the TR280i model, and be the same bike – just with a 125cc cylinder. In 2013 – April – the TR300i Racing model will be launched – Nice, and evil..! Hi, heard all sorts of yays and nays about the 280. Has anyone lived with one (or two) and decided to keep with the marque ? Good and bad points , pref from owners ! Its near the top of my list. Over 50s clubman level rider.

Hi all; New here as I just bought my first trials bike, it is a 2013 Explorer set up in trials form with only a few tanks ran through it, so it has sat around and been ridden very little. After buying it I took it for a ride, had some clutch drag when it started, I road it up a fire road one mile to the trail head, as I proceeded up the trail a quarter mile the clutch faded to nothing, as in the bike sitting in gear idling. Back at the van I let it cool for five minutes then I had full clutch again, rode around the parking area and the clutch faded again. Back home I found the oil was over filled, so I drained it put fresh oil to the proper level. A few days later I wen…

I changed the oil on our bikes at the weekend. On the 2011, I only got a dribble out of the drain plug, layed the bike over but didn't get much. Cracked the clutch cover as per directions on the Ossa Canada site and ended up with about 220ml of oil. The 2011 is also lacking a magnetic drain plug which I'm going to order. On the 2012, I didn't have to crack the clutch cover and got 220ml. I put 220ml back into both bikes and the oil is at the top of the glass. Does that sound right? The book says there is 350ml of oil in there which means I've changed less than 2/3 of the oil. I used the GRO Synthetic 10w/30 oil which seems to be recommended - I couldn't find the 7…

Hi Guys, anyone got a spare Clymer Ossa workshop manual or know where I can get one from without taking out a mortgage for it ?

  15. Started by cord,

Help!! The fan on my '11 Tr280 has stopped working. I've put 12v direct to the fan and it works fine, i've tried bridging the wires that go to the temp switch in the head, but still no joy. I'm less than useless when it comes to electrics, can anybody point me in the right direction to find where the problem is?

Hi all, first time poster here... I have just bought a couple of Ossa's to have a go at duffers trials of some sort. I need to remove the RHS crank case half to get a little bit of welding done (very small and barely necessary, but I am a bit OCD with such things...) Anyway, I have a question. The manual seems to show that it is entirely possible to remove the RHS crankcase half whilst leaving/not disturbing the crank and gearbox shafts clutch and what have you in the LHS crankcase half, is this the case? Of course, as this engine is a complete unknown quantity and I have not bought it running I could find out that having split it i need to replace a shed …

  19. Started by basketcase,

Hi....again, can anyone tell me how to measure the offset of the wheels on (off) my 1975/6 Ossa mar? Or what the offset is. I`ve decided to give it a go myself, wheel building that is. The tyres are now off and the nipples are soaked in WD40, might give them a while before trying to undo them as I`d prefer to re-use them. The rims might take a while to clean up, looks like they`ve never been cleaned from new!! The hubs will be repainted along with the brake plates then new linings will be fitted, and bearings. Cheers all, Nigel.
