Hi All, I am looking for advice on the best way to lower the footrests on my 1977 Silver Engine Beamish. Is it possible to buy a bolt on kit,are do you need to cut and weld if so does anyone make brackets ready to weld onto the frame. Thanks in advance

Hello , I have a Beamish 250 {silver engine, aprox. 1976} .The Front forks are too soft , {a lot of sag & bottom out easy}. I am 82kg so may be bit heavier than average but i still dont think they are correct The fork springs are full length with no spacer under the cap , I have seen a parts book for a RL250 which shows a shorter spring with a spacer about 100-125mm long at the top under the cap. Does anybody know the correct lengths for the spring and spacer so that i can try and find the correct parts ? Alternatively could anybody recommend differant springs to use or a supplier to ask ? thanks dave

I have a 1980 black engine Beamish, the fork springs are getting a bit tired and I am thinking about replacing them. I was wondering if full length springs would be ok to use without the spacer at the top or do I need to try and get some the correct length and continue to use the spacer. Any advice would be most welcome, thanks

Just tried fitting a set of beamish forks I have lying around on my BSA, but the fork tubes seem to be smaller than 35mm this is stopping me clamping them on the bsa. I’ve measured them and they are 34.87mm which seems to be closer to 1 3/8” did the beamish have odd sized forks?

Just removed the stanchions from the sliders of a black engine Beamish (last model) as they need re-chroming. I'm a bit confused at to what I've found, it's the first time I've worked on Suzuki forks. I removed the spring, tipped the stanchion up and out slid the damper rod assembly - surprisingly, there's no shuttle valve assembly like Betor or Marzocchi have, so I checked the manual on the owners club website and that's how they are. There's one thing I can't fathom though. In the bottom of the stanchion is what looks like a bush and it feels pretty solid, as though it is pressed in, picture below (not the best...) I've looked at the parts diagram again and I can'…

Hi Guys, I've just bought an RL250. Its 1975 i think and in the Heron Suzuki colours, and im very pleased with it. However, the front brake is appalling, I've cleaned up the shoes with emery paper, and de-greased and dremaled the drum with a wire brush. But its still really bad. can i get a new liner for the hub? any suggestions? The ball bearing is missing out of the kick start, not unusual im sure, what would be the best way forward for this? I suppose the answer may be replace the bearing, but I'm thinking the kick start will be so worn It will just fall out. thanks in advance for you help Guys

I have been working on 250 (yellow) Beamish and just finished rebuilding after a re-bore. The bike has a new Mikuni carb on it but with right hand mixture screw on it. The carb has the numbers 26 and 8074 stamped by the choke lever and WO 6 1 below the main body The carb is supposed to be set up for a 250 but I have had to put the needle clip on the bottom groove to get any sort of running out of the engine. Still feels very flat. Can anybody advise jetting for 250 reed valve engine.

  12. Started by beamish owners club,

For those of you not already in the know, there is a dedicatecd website and 'Owners Club' for the Beamish Suzuki. It costs nothing to join. It costs nothing to advertise your bike or parts for sale or place a 'wanted' ad. There is a database held with a register of frame and engine numbers where you can lodge your frame and engine number just in case your bike is ever stolen - you can also enquire if a bike with a frame or engine number you are interested in buying is registered stolen. All this is free! There is help and advice plus a members forum. There are reproduction decals available taken from originals and the only ones approved by the Beamish Owners Club as…

Hello, Has anybody replaced the leading axle forks on a Beamish/RL with straight forks ? The reason I ask is because the stantions on mine need re-chroming , £200 ish seems to be the going rate , but I have a spare pair of better Ossa MAR & Yamaha trials forks , and several wheels. so would probably only need to buy some suitable yokes that go with the forks that I am thinking of using, to get somewhere near the right geometry. I think I have seen this change from straight to leading axle on some other bikes ( and vice versa) but can't remember seeing a Beamish that has been changed. I have access to a lathe & mill, so some small mods won…

Following 12 months of disappointment of buying what ended up being a significantly bodged Montesa 348 off of ebay and having 4 out of 6 comps as DNF, the Mont is now stripped and having a rebuild. To keep riding I am buying another bike and a very kind owner at the club allowed me to try his Beamish this weekend (try before you buy......) I absolutely loved the bike and the fact that it has finished every comp in the last year and was a dream to start, we have agreed the price (plus the fact that I smacked the rear brake pedal in the very last section on a rock and bent it made me compelled to buy it!) The bike was almost faultless but I did notice (and the owner confi…

Hi Guys, My Dad has his new toy - a nice 1981 RL325 Beamish. It currently runs an RL250 tank, and while it looks nice, its just not right. Is there anyone out there who has or makes the larger RL3235 Alloy tank. cheers, Ben

I read somewhere that someone produced some larger serrated footpegs for the RL250/325 Beamish......Does anyone know where I can find some please? The O/E ones are small and very slippery, as my bruised leg will testify
