Can anyone tell me if spokes are available off the shelf to rebuild the front wheel for a beamish/rl ? or if not best place to get it done near Leeds in West Yorkshire, Thanks ps it,s for a conversion on my TY/Majesty 200 clone, I am putting a beamish front end on it.

What's good & bad about them and what goes wrong? Found a Silver engined model I'm interested in which is in Yellow and original, guess about 78, when they changed from Red/Black Heron Suzuki colours to Yellow It looks exactly the same mechanically and model wise to the Red/Black ones

This is my second posting on the above bike and although not trials related, the answers I received last time were helpful. Since then my grandson has been asking when the bike will be ready for him to ride! It goes at the moment but I need to fit the kill switch and I am not perfectly sure how to wire it. All the bikes I own run on points and the Suzuki has CDI. With points it is not a problem to rig up a switch because there is only one wire going to the coil. On the Suzuki there are two wires into the coil from the CDI. One is black with a white strip, the other white with a blue strip. Hi Guys, I've just bought an RL250. Its 1975 i think and in the Heron Suzuki colours, and im very pleased with it. However, the front brake is appalling, I've cleaned up the shoes with emery paper, and de-greased and dremaled the drum with a wire brush. But its still really bad. can i get a new liner for the hub? any suggestions? The ball bearing is missing out of the kick start, not unusual im sure, what would be the best way forward for this? I suppose the answer may be replace the bearing, but I'm thinking the kick start will be so worn It will just fall out. thanks in advance for you help Guys

Hi All, I am looking for advice on the best way to lower the footrests on my 1977 Silver Engine Beamish. Is it possible to buy a bolt on kit,are do you need to cut and weld if so does anyone make brackets ready to weld onto the frame. Thanks in advance

Hello, Im restoring a silver engine rl250 for me brother in law. It's a silver engine 74? He bought a lighting kit for it but the kit did not have a stator. Will a ts250 stator winding work with the rl250? How about coils to run the cdi? Are those the same as the ts250? regards, redbug2

I was going to have a go at buying a 350 gripper, the kickstart is missing,. question is has anyone had any success in finding a gripper kickstart and from where? hi everyone i now have my beamish 325, i got her started today. she started 3rd kick . now for the questions, the petrol tank(alloy) has a few dents in it, what would be the best way to remove them? also the threded collar that attaches the fuel tap to the tank is knackered, it looks to me to be a replacement tap job. any ideas where i can get a second hand one? thanks Ben

Do you find your RL325 a bit of a handful at low speeds? There are a few ways you can calm it down. 1. There is a hole in the barrel just above the exhaust port that get clogged with carbon. You can feel it in the top of the exhaust outlet as a channel, the hole is only about 2mm but if this is cleaned out it will make quite a difference at low speeds, that is what it is there for. There is no hole on the RL250. 2. The standard ignition system on the beamish is analogue and linear, you can get a mapped digital ignition that calms it down at low speeds but still give you all the power when you open the throttle. 3. Hi All, Can anyone please help me with information regarding the re-assembly of a Beamish Suzuki (black engine) gearbox? If someone has some good pictures of the re-assembly order of the components that are known to be correct that will be a great help. It’s been some years since I took it apart so I have no memory of any details regarding re-assembly. I had taken many pictures but I’m still not confident that the position of some components is correct. Hi Can anyone help me with information about the exhaust system on my 1980 RL250? I'm trying to find out if the main box has any sound reducing material inside or is it just an empty box? I have cut open the rear box and found evidence of some sound deadening material, so I will clean it up and re-pack it and weld it up. Regards Phil

Hello all. I am having a machinist friend to manufacture some replacement bushings for the RL 250 Suzuki. I picked up a sample of a new stock item and plan to have a set made from those specs. We are planning on using bronze stock to make them. I don't know what the cost is going to be, but I thought I'd see if anyone else needed a set. This is the same guy that is going to make an aluminum swingarm for the same bike for me.

Hello ! What about steering angles of MKII and MKIII frames ? I mainly would like to know if MKIII makes you feel front wheel "lighter" ? Though i lowered and moved backward footpegs, i find my MKII much less handy than my 175 TY... Thanks for sharing your opinions ! Jean-Pierre

Can anyone advise the best gearbox oil/fluid for the RL250 Beamish? I've seen modern 80W transmission oil recommended, as well as ATF. If ATF, what specification, Dexron 3, or something more advanced? Thanks in advance.

IM CURRENTLY REFRESHING THE ENGINE ON A MATES 325 BEAMISH. IVE SPOKEN WITH THE VERY HELPFUL STEVE PITT AT THE BEAMISH OWNERS CLUB ABOUT SOURCING AN 81.00mm PISTON. I KNOW THERE ARENT ANY AT THE MOMENT, BUT THE OLD ADAGE SAYS IF YOU DONT ASK…………!! HAS ANYONE GOT AN 81.00mm PISTON SAT IN A WORKSHOP DRAWER THEY BOUGHT YEARS AGO , JUST IN CASE AND NO LONGER NEED, OR AS AN ALTERNATIVE I COULD MAKE A SET OF 80.50mm PISTON RINGS WORK ON THE EXISTING PISTON SHORT TERM.
