Hi I lost one of the side seat/tank body mount screws ( the ones with the large 20mm approx pan head ) . I have some spares but they are too short for the tank/seat that I am using. Can anyone suggest a supplier - or are they commonly available parts ... maybe I am not searching for the correct term.

did i read somewhere that you can take out the second pilot jet, the one that always blocks, and throw it away? the one thats fitted to the phbl26 carbs on the 315r's??

I'm buyinga new to me '95 Montesa Cota 314. I have never owned a trials bike before. With that being said I'm looking for information about maintenence, oils, tuning tricks, etc.

Can folks give some input on the value of a 1973 montesa cota 247 trials bike? Looking at parting with my father's bike which is not currenlty running and we need a ballpark idea of what to list it for. Thank you in advance.

Just posted in the introduction forum about my first ever run out yesterday and the aftermath of a small off thats shafted my engine. It revved out wide open and couldnt kill it with the switch. I am opening it up this week - anyone any ideas what I may find and who locally to durham newcastle will be able to sort the bore out for me? I am doing everything else myself.... spanners are a friend of mine I feel, quite literally, sick to the stomach. booooooo...

does the later 260 4RT have maintenance free valve clearance adjustment such as hydraulic tappets or do they need shims and if so how often , thanks

Hi been looking for oil and filters for my 300rr noticed the gearbox wants 540 ml and they come in bottles of 1000 ml does anyone just do 500 to get two out of a bottle with it need changing so oftern or is that two dodgy what oils do you all recommend thanks

hello what it is the original setting of your 315r?phbl -because mine was with 13 turns for the air screw -for the needle its the 2st step from the bottom I changed the settings -air-screw :3 -needle:3 step from the bottom but she still does things strange to me: -if I put the starter,she go really high in the rpm(I almost thought the cable was blocked ,so much hight rpm) -It doesn’t all go down right away when I drop the throttle -she Knocking crankshaft its ok , but maybe the 3 ring its bad , not sure while riding, it runs just fine. but i think the idle speed its not pretty to listen but she holds the idle s…

Hi, I have recently replaced the idler gear on my 200 Cota, and I am struggling to fathom the correct way to tension the assembly once refitted. Does anybody have any experience of reassembling correctly? New pawl gear has also been fitted, along with the correct shims, and new return and shaft spring. The bit causing me the main trouble is securing the shaft in the correct position and tension prior to refitting the side case, the shaft needs to be in a specific position for the slot in the shaft to mate up in the right position for the kick start securing bolt and not smash the casing. Any help / pictures appreciated. Cheers, Mark

Well I had a go at setting the tappets....But found when the flywheel was lined up with "T" on the inspection hole the rockers were not lose at all...found a mark "F" which gave me nice lose rockers. All gaps were fine although one exhaust valve was slightly tight, so I adjusted it...Read and re read the handbook but no mention of the "F" mark. Anyone care to shed any light on this.... If I set the tappets on The T mark they will go very lose at the F mark....and I always believed you set the tappets at the point where the valves are closed....ie the biggest gap on the tappets...THis can;t be the "T" Mark.....well not on my bike anyway ! Hi i was just wondering if any one had an idea on how i could set up my 2004 montesa i weigh about 11 and1/2 stone with the settings at the moment i am unable 2 bounce the bike it just feels like a dead weight underneath me ..... i would be highly thankfull if someone could help me

I have just put the cases back together and am getting about 1mm end float on the selector shaft, is this going to be a problem? Should I strip it back down and shim the right hand end? Thanks, Phil

Hi Guys, I am thinking of getting another trials bike and I was wanting to get a make/brand that dont give problems or minimal problems should I say! my current brand is causing me to have a love hate relationship!!!!! and I am becomming less rich too , they say that Montesa are super reliable and not much maintenance is required? are they Honda? is the four stroke better than the 2stroke??? Is this true? Can anybody tell me their views on Montesa???? Thanks all

Hi guys, recently i have heard about a 2002 Montesa for sale after the SSDT, for 1700quid but it will have done the ssdt and been through alot in australia aswell should i go for this or should i go ahead for a 2001 monty in 2 weeks time?? any advice would be much appreciated Chris

Hi peops im new to the whole trials thing just bought a 2000 315r and I have noticed that if you hold the front brake you can move the wheel a little bit feels like theres play in the head stock if you know what I mean any help on this would be great also anywhere in bristol I can get used to riding it too would be amazing
