I purchased a used 06 Repsol 4RT to see how I got on with a 4 stroke and am now a complete convert. Going through the various spares and bits in bags that came with the bike recently, I found 2 used sleeves with flanges that appear to have been previously fitted somewhere in the exhast system; according to the wonderfully concise manual, one of the sleeves looks like it fits inside the header pipe where it bolts onto the cylinder head and the other sleeve looks like it fits in the silencer socket which slips over the other end of the header pipe. I'm looking for a new bike and after selling my enduro bike and 03 rev 3 I have about £3000. What do you reckon something as new as I can get or s well looked after 4rt? Cheers DT

My bike has been getting harder to start when hot so i thought i would check the valve clearances. The problem is when i set the flywheel to the T top dead center mark the rocker arms are solid with no movement at all. Can this be correct? or am i doing something stupid.

Some help required on the topic of replacement hangers for my 06 4rt the originals are many times bent and reshaped, blob welded and releveled, Opinions vary and have changed over the last five years or So reading through the related posts on here, Titanium now questionable due to reported frame damage, billet alli good or or bad ?! steel/ original hangers ?. Any Input on replacing these well worn hangers would be most appreciated. Thanks.

Is there a handlebar switch with 2 settings available for an 06 Repsol ? If so what is needed to get up and running ? Cheers Scott

Greeting everyone from New Hampshire, USA...have a 2006 Montesa 4rt I am the 3rd owner, I am an amateur haven't been on a bike 30 plus years (54 years old), few questions if you can all help me with, 1.) I have some swamp woods behind my house, few 6-8" logs to go over, some muddy areas when not raining about an inch or two deep, trying to cross over a 10ft wide by maybe 6-10" deep of swampy water ,not brave enough waiting for it to dry up some, few small slopes, very tight trail due to over grown etc. MY QUESTION...what gear should I be in?? I am going no more then 5--8 mph of so.., I stay in first for the most part, have tried second, really not sure if I'm hurti…

Just bought a 07/08 rear silencer cover to replace my worn out cover on 05 4rt. All looks the same apart from the little bracket that hooks onto the tag at the rear of the silencer - problem is that there isn't one on the new one. Note sure if this is a mod on the later covers or whether it is missing. Anybody with a later bike could you let me know if the cover still clips on at the rear below the bolt. Before you ask I am putting on the later cover as it does not have the 4rt embossing which is where it has worn through. Any help appreciated. Ta

just wondered if anyone had got there hands on one yet, or when they are due in ? i havnt seen any at any trials yet, and only the works bike seem to be the 08s, well black framed jsp

HI I'm thinking of changing my Sherco 290 07 for a 4rt, is the repsol 08 that much different to the standard 4rt? Will the 09 bikes be any different? Regards Simon

just bought a 4rt secondhand as not done much work so how often do you guys services you 4RTs i.e engine and gearbox oils every six as per book or more? what is piston ring wear on them like it says to change them after 6 mths is this the case or do the last longer ? anyone rebuild one on engine failure ? and is there anything to keep a eye on in general?

I've had a Montesa 1998 315R for many years and I'm keen to get a new bike. Quite attached to Montesa for some reason .... but not sure if a brand new 2008 4RT is worth the money. Would a good condition 2005/6/7 be a better bet ? Anything specifically a problem on 2005-2007 models that has been sorted on the 2008 model ? My fellow riders do quite rightly point out that I could buy a 2008 Gas Gas 2T for about 2/3 of the price of a montesa 4RT. Should I block my ears and make childish noises :-) or are they making sense ? Any useful input to help decision making will be much appreciated.

just wondering if anyone out there made it to sandifords 4rt test day last sunday ? if so what do you think ? better than the 07 bikes ? and are they a big improvement on the 05 bikes ? or are you all sworn to secrecy !!! jsp

Looking at the recent indoor pictures the (08 works bikes) repsol logos size shape etc, and of course wheel and tank colour don't match mine , so what have I got? A repsol replica of what?

Hi, I've got a new '09 4rt (Repsol). I had my first good 20 minute ride today. I noticed the fan never came on (I was mostly in first gear going through trees slowly, 20C outside). Is this normal? I kept watching it expecting it to come on. Also, I notice when it sits after riding that one of the (vent?) tubes drips a few drops of oil - is this normal? Thanks
