  1. I used to do that, pain in the a*** though! Bought a tyre beader and a compressor and have never had any trouble since. No donuts though, I'm on a diet
  2. Is this it? http://www.bike-cleaner.com/proclean/profilterkit.htm
  3. I bought one from Sandifords a couple of years back, can't remember how much it was but it's a lovely blue and yellow colour Oh, and it does what it says on the tin

You were out scooped but no need to worry, you are still the 'name drop' queen in my opinion Those boots look a bit muddy compared to the bike, are you sure he let you ride it ? Or did Steve make you lick the tyres clean?

Apologies for the poor quality picture and traffic noise (mobile phone video) but here's Steve 'The Pimp' Saunders playing on his new thumper this afternoon...
  6. I'd leave it as it is to be honest... Option 1 if it really bugs you though

That more or less sums it up for me too There's a few reasons why I want one of these bikes but the main reason is the punishing SSDT route next May. Last year and the year before, I had to wring the tits off of my Rev-3's to get round in time each day. Both bikes held out but I'm pretty sure they woudn't have appreciated a 7th day... The Monts had glowing reports off everyone who rode them around Scotland, easy to start, hardly any maintenance needed, fast down the road without having to torture the engine and superb on the moors (pick a gear and just go). I'm always taking the p*** about the 'fat lass' but I can't argue with the quality build and reliability of the bikes. I'm hoping that the new Beta also has the above traits but most of all, I hope that it is as reliable and as Tonka tough as the current 2 stroke bike. If it is then I'll be happy, if it isn't - I'll trade it in for an 07 Rev-3 instead. Only time will tell...

    Beta 4-stroke

When did the 4-stroke ruling first appear? I'm guessing it was about 2002'ish... Sherco unveiled their 320 at Moutier, Switzerland in September 2003 so did that have just 1 year's development and testing behind it? They have now had 4 years to sort their bike out but I don't see the masses rushing out and buying them. Beta's bike has been 4 years in the making which ties in with the 4-stroke ruling in 2002. It might be that it has taken them 4 years to develop and test the bike properly before releasing it to their customers. They will have seen the backlash that Sherco received and will not want to make the same mistake. Patience is a virtue* Meanwhile, Ishy the Sherco Tycoon has been snapping all the used bikes up cheap and flogging them off at vast profits with a free 'this is how you kick the buggers' lesson * Sod virtues, I want my bike now
  12. You take the flywheel weight off a 270! Does anybody remember Frank Spencer riding (hanging onto...) a motorbike

I reckon plenty of folk will buy them, some will like the bike and some won't. Some might wait for any teething problems to be ironed out before buying one and some (like me) will buy one purely on the strength of the Beta brand and usual build quality. If it's 'owt like the Sherco 3.2 then I'll accept I made a bad move by buying one from the first batch and will no doubt have the p*** taken by you lot. If it's a 'sorted' bike like the Montesa and I can get on with the 4T style of riding then I'll be wearing a smug smile whilst everyone bitches and whinges that they can't get hold of one due to supply outstripping demand Only time will tell...

Mudguard off I reckon, I wonder if they've relocated the rear brake resevoir...
  16. I'm pretty sure you can recommend any brand or dealer whether they sponsor the site or not. Andy might chime in with a 'please support the sponsors' message but that's all... E.g. New dealer starts up and does a great job re: sales, service, back up etc. Folk on here recommend the dealer. Other folk buy from the dealer and mention TC.com Dealer has a look at the site and asks "How much does advertising cost? A deal is done or isn't done - everyone's happy anyway

I've just put a dipper down on a new Beta too... Number 1 in the queue so a big hairy a***d at all the indecisive buggers
  18. I've no idea how much it costs to advertise on TC but Sandifords, Shirty, YOU HAVE USED WORDS OR A PHRASE WHICH ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THIS WEBSITE. PLEASE DELETE YOUR POST/TOPIC. DO NOT TRY TO CIRCUMVENT THE FILTERS IN PLACE ON THIS WEBSITE etc. have all decided that it's obviously worth the expense as they advertise each and every year. We all know that the 'TC Supporters' bit only costs
  19. I think he did a good job of putting it into words, I got it straight away
  20. It's already been decided* that I will NOT be allowed to carry any GPS * I'd like to add that I wasn't invited to vote, shame really as I'd like to see the speed data

Am I the only one ever to get a bit lost round the Scottish? In fact, didn't somebody go across the Corran ferry one morning last year when the route was running the opposite way round?
