  1. Nasty nasty hill is that, I chucked my bike off one bit rather than ride down it Not too keen on the Friday morning one either. No idea what the group is called but it can be a right ******* to get to and then the downhill back to the railway crossing is very steep, short but steep!
  2. You can expect to pay Vat if you buy new or used from a dealer. You won't be able to charge Vat when you sell it but that doesn't mean you can't try to sell it for more money...
  3. **** me, your job must be really boring...

    New Dad!

Well done Gaz, all your hard work has obviously paid off after 9 months. Make sure Mrs. Gaz does some work now that the little 'un has arrived
  5. I like their thinking It gives the punters a choice, clears old stock, competes with Xispa on price, appeals to the credit crunched etc. Very smart move!
  6. She doesn't talk to dirty old men
  7. You're the epidemic! Only kidding, I've already used the virus excuse myself
  8. Unbelievable launch from 5 or 6 foot, he nearly overshot it too!
  9. Your bestest mate Atomant will be along soon to help (take the pi$$)

    Drowned Beta 270

It's been running for an hour - on tickover or riding about? I've been a long way out each time I've drowned a bike, so I've had to make do and get it running to get back to base. They tend to run ****e for a while then sound perfect 100 yards away from the van! 150 main jet sounds familiar, probably the standard size to be honest. If in doubt, strip the carb down again and blow the jets through with compressed air...

    Drowned Beta 270

If the bike ran fine before then I wouldn't mess with the jetting until you get it running properly, as it just adds another factor to the problem. I've drowned a bike or three in the past and the best thing is to keep it running to burn off any water left in the cases. Keep changing the gear oil and replace the exhaust packing (is the exhaust completely empty of water?)
  12. Have a look at this BBC clip A pickup truck does a somersault followed by more footage of the loon on the bike - the close up of the jump back down shows how high it really was!
  13. So if the Xispa is the cheapest in 2009, it will represent 63% of bikes? Sandifords to Silsden is only 18 miles but not many Monts about? Not much of a point, just an observation really. No idea which Beta models they were, I'll find out if they were running Michelins or Dunlops eh 40+ entries isn't fantastic but it's not bad for a Boxing Day trial. Yes, I'm sure there were bigger entries elsewhere.... Oh I dunno, noisy Monts scaring the wildlife and upsetting the locals, Gassers dropping parts all over the place, Shercos bending and flaking tin chrome everywhere. Ok, I'll stop now Thought about turning up on the lads Oset but the battery was flat! Happy New Year to you too xxx
  14. Just looking through the BDMC's Boxing Day results and noticed the following: - Hard Course - 15 bikes 11 Betas (9 of the top ten finishers were on a Beta) 3 Monts (Ross Crosby spoiled JLI's 10 out of 10 day with an 8th place ) 1 Gas Gas 50/50 Course - 11 bikes 9 Betas 2 Gas Gas's Clubman Course - 14 bikes 5 Betas 4 Shercos 3 Gas Gas's 2 Monts Total of 40 bikes, 25 of them Betas, each route won by someone on a Beta... 15. That depends on whether you were all alone at the time!
