I have Wulfsport and Gaerne's. The boots offering the best protection by far are Wulfsport. Wulfsport boots are made of thicker, stiffer leather and the soles are much stiffer too. Gaerne's are soft and comfy but offer little ankle protection - I broke my ankle earlier this year wearing my Gaerne boots. It wouldn't have happened if I had my Wulfsport boots on. However, the most popular boot at trials competitions are Gaerne.

Some clubs have a Gentleman's Route, which is basically in through the start gate and out of the end gate, by any route at all.

Bend the kickstart back to it's correct angle: Take the kickstart leaver off. Put it in a vice. Heat it up with a blowlamp, or preferably an oxyacetylene torch to a red colour, then bend it, perhaps using a long length of pipe. When you are happy with the angle then heat it up again to red, then quench it in a bucket of cold water to make it tough again. Simples.

Easy enough to sort out a bent wheel rim. Youtube is your friend here.
Don't waste money on buying cheap tyres.

You need a windy gun/impact driver to undo it. If you don't have one, take it to your local garage. (leave the nut exposed). It would only take them a minute to undo it.

Tool Station, Screwfix. Proper Job.

I would guess that being "mullered" has the same meaning as being Johnstoned, so messed up - broken - destroyed beyond repair.

Thanks Trapeze. I thought that it was just me.

Can anyone actually use the AMCA for Trials at the moment?
-
Why is the AMCA website so difficult to use, compared the the ACU?

I think that the "melted" overflow pipe is in fact a hole cut there on purpose to stop the pipe syphoning fuel from the carb.
Poor starting = clean your pilot jet - again. Reset tickover speed.

Here in the south of England, you don't see many old/real Montesas at Classic trial competitions. Some Bultacos and Ossas at every meet, but very few Montesas, despite them being quite common back in the day. I wonder why? Engines difficult to work on?

A decent side view of the lower fork would help.

What size shoes/boots are you? Adult size or children's size?

Supazilla, if you trespass on other people's land with your bike then you will likely be hearing the phrase 'Ello, 'Ello, 'Ello yelled into your ear!

Just wondering which bits are supposed to be original? The more I look, the more I see different. Tank, seat, front wheel, hub, forks - the list is endless. Should have kept it original and not messed about with it.
I have a 2022 TRS that was also used in the film and ridden by Fonda, McQueen and Elvis too. $100,000 and it's yours!

Just re-read your post. Gas or petrol mix should be about 70:1 not 100:1. Might be trying to seize up!

Could be the main jet blocked, or the choke on/partially on. Dirty/blocked air filter?

Or a float issue - but same outcome. take it apart and investigate.

To start with I would check the level of the brake fluid! If ok then fit a new set of Galfer brake pads and clean the brake disk with some brake cleaner. Spray the cleaner on a rag, then rub it on both sides of the disk. (Don't spray it directly on the disk as you will likely wash the grease out of your wheel bearings). If this still doesn't improve matters, then replace the brake fluid. If still no luck, then get a brake seal service kit. If you are still not happy then replace as stated in the above post. I had a (new) 2014 Evo and the brakes were fine.
