He certainly has got his name on the factory truck along with Adam Raga and Alex Wigg. Thought he had the space left when one of the spaniards (Fajardo i think) left for Beta.
Please define what you mean as factory support? As I understand it, there is help with the bikes but as to a decent income in the way of a salary ???...... If this was a high profile sport like golf then they would be getting 20k+ for just showing up but alas, trials is a world apart.
-
No I'm afraid, You will probably see them either on http://www.trialspace.co.uk/ if Bikespace gets the time, or by post in a little while.

Thanks for that lengthy list Betarev3 I will be looking to try some of them

Being realistic, the sport isn't rich enough to fund the top 10 riders. Its a shame as I think Shaun is one of the best ambassadors the sport has, and he is great to watch. If we want him there, then we would have to find a way to financially support him to do it ( and any others that come along in the same position). I am not saying empty your pockets but it is something that will need looking at sooner or later.

Whilst I was chatting with some guys at the Forest trial who were there for the first time on recommendation and were thoroughly enjoying it, we discussed that there must be a variety of not that well know UK trials out there that are well worth going to but not that many people know of them as yet. So I thought I would post a thread and see if anybody knows of some gems (avoiding the obvious) coming up this year that are a must ride.
Any suggestions anyone?
Note: Please refer to the type of trial with as much info as poss i.e Type :- Easy/Hard - Twinshock / Pre-65 / Mixed etc etc. and where to find details.
Cheers
Ian

As a general point, when are people going to get bored with huge splats? Whilst I appreciate the obvious skill & balls it takes, as entertainment value, its starting to wane I think.
One other thing, the outdoor is starting to move too far away from its roots. All these big splats are just indoor without the roof!
IMHO

Hi Stu,
I saw that you put a tidy score together! well done mate.
The weather was miserable but when you're having so much fun it doesn't seem to matter! With 200 riders there was only section 13 that had a bit of a queue, I didn't have to wait for long at any of the others.
Elwyn, Jean and everyone else who supported the trial were martyrs to the cause (and any other observers out yesterday to be fair)
Some of the sections in the rivers were great especially the double subs. How many people on the double sub 6 & 7 on the last card (Ann Sagar was observing) didn't have the energy to walk right up to the exit gates and then ride the section and then miss the last set of gates! (Please tell me I wasn't the only one )
What about the views down in the valley riding along the top to the last set of sections! Simply stunning (where is Andy and his camera when you need him)
As you know I borrowed Spuds Gasser for the day and rode round with him. First time for him on the rocks and he done really well. (Too damn well ) and he took the fiver off me. I also liked the gasser so much though I bought it off him Much easier to ride than the 290 I had. I was really surprised as I had ridden a few gassers in the past and for some reason, this one just felt right. So, I'm a gasser convert now. (sorry Heath but no Beta 4T for me )
I was also riding round in a group with a guy on an OSSA (Steve Sell?) which was well tricked up. He could ride it pretty well too! Great to see so many quality twinshocks and some pre-65's too.
Talking with Elwyn the trial will be rescheduled for next year to avoid the bird nesting season so double check what date it is before you stick it in the calendar.

good riding but doesn't the bike sound way too under powered?

And in the Youth WTC, we hope that Ross takes a win

What about Cameron Diaz ?
Who's he then.
Think he's a Mexican window cleaner from round Atom's stomping grounds.
ohhh.
Does he give a good polish Atom.
Billie, lets see now, if I eat well things will look up, and Atoms recommending a bit of Cameron Diaz, (not the gringo one )I'm on the right track then !
Well guys if you really must know, Cameron Diaz was an old flame but you know how it is.. the high life all gets a bit much and you have to move on to something with a little more serenity! I now live in a shed on the Wrekin with my long time celebrity love , Bella Emberg

Its all to do with balance..... that couple of ounces at the front makes all the difference!!!!
randyrat
Andy has mentioned a few times he could do with a few more ounces at the front

You are talking about his tongue here I hope

Also, whilst the Sherco 4t sounds pretty mean, it's way too loud. What is it with 4 stroke machines that everyone needs to make them louder. There is simply no need and it shouldn't be encouraged by the top riders on 4 strokes either in my opinion. We have enough trouble as it is with keeping trials venues without get noise pollution trouble as well!
Note - To be fair, the Beta Rev4 wasn't that loud.
-
I seen an 07 Sherco hidden away in the trees being fettled with on Sunday and even when they got it going again it wasn't revving out very well! and later I saw the same bike being a right pig to start!
Ahh but Baz, you're biased to the Beta unlike me
That Sherco 4T though sounded Awesome! What grunt it must have. Sounded like a 450 This was in stark contrast to the Beta which sounded like an old RTL. Certainly didn't have the bite of the Sherco sound wise.
On the downside, the Sherco engine at idle sounded like a bag of nails rattling around from the top end. It also looked a real handful. It certainly isn't right yet so I won't be laying out the notes for one just yet.

If anyone doesn't know, Bikespace's club is running the event so any details can be found here http://www.trialspace.co.uk/
edit - I just spoke with Elwyn and he has said there are around 200 entered up till now so I am not sure how many more they will take so get yer finger out !

There are little isolated pockets along the track you come across to set up in. The ground is a bit rocky so its pretty hard to get any pegs in in some places.

Have you seen the weather forecast for this weekend I think I am going back home on Saturday for a nice hot bath and coming back on the Sunday
O very nice for some aint it!!! Well Leicester is along way away so will have to risk it and sleep in my water proofs!!!
I stayed up the forest 2 years ago in a single tent and it was bloody freezing! Also, I set up next to Elwyn and Chris Parrys caravan and damn didn't he snore!! So I couldn't get to sleep coz it was too cold and when I finally dropped off, Chris' snoring woke us up! But yeah it was a laugh at the late night Barbie and when that finished the walk back to the caravan in complete darkness was interesting I can tell you.
