  1. gas Gas Ossa Jotagas future seems uncertain, how many will take a chance on Vertigo or Trs? Irrespective of how well they ride
  2. Reckon you'd be ideal James you're well connected in Spain and knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the brand Are the problems Steve Saunders encountered solveable I wonder ? The factory should make an official statement on this and hopefully announce a new importer sooner than later
  3. Try phoning the factory and Steve Saunders ,emails don't always get seen straight away . I'm assuming you're in the UK
  4. What parts are allegedly unavailable?
  5. 70/1&super unleaded
  6. Chain tension wants to be 3mm between swing arm and tensioner pad with both wheels off the ground .I like the clutch feel with putoline gp10 oil it works fine on atf as Telecats post just bites a bit quicker There's a few tips on the Jotagas UK website and Steve Saunders is very helpful Love my 250 don't want anything else
  7. Looks fine,I wouldn't change anything just enjoy riding it
  8. Not the same as an original yzf one which are £180ish I reckon there's a difference in quality .Engine out job to change it on an Ossa too.4rt ones don't seem to give trouble and I bet they don't use the ebay ones
  9. huski replied to tom675's topic in OSSA
Bit worrying that the pump only lasts that long worth trying the cheap ebay one .Ossa are taking the p--s if they want £300 for the same thing
  10. 9/52 is ridiculously low Betas aren't high in 1st and 2nd as standard .As regards stalling with the clutch in it sounds like it needs the clutch modded as described on the Beta Clutch Fix post on the Beta forum . Trials is the most skilful of all motorbike disciplines, don't expect too much too soon, respect to you for having a go .Some lessons from someone like Steve Saunders would be a good idea
  11. Bashplate is structural if it becomes flattened it tries to push the rear engine mount back so cracking the cases .The mag cases on the Raga don't seem as strong as the standard ones
  12. KTM make superb enduro and motox bikes, both 2t and 4t.All the 4t have fi all the 2t have carbs I wonder why?Feel sure they must have tested fi on 2t but haven't put into production(yet?)
  13. Have heard of them being successfully welded,I would search out a company with good experience of welding magnesium .I don't think new cases would line up with the frame,do you have access to another bike you borrow the engine from to try it in the frame to find out?Ive only heard of the magnesium cases breaking never the normal ones.Good luck with it

Where/how can the DVLA registration figures be accessed ? to prove the above post
  15. huski replied to jon015's topic in Beta
A good engineering workshop could weld it and re machine it
  16. Adam can't just leave if he's contracted to 2017 unless he's owed pay which would put his employers in breach of contract .Difficult position to be in,can't see Beta or Sherco taking him if he has to go,don't know if the GasGas situation includes Ossa which leaves Jgas and Vertigo which would be great for them if they're in a position to take him

Maybe GasGas are too big for the amount of bikes they sell, their wage bill and costs of supporting WTC and WEC teams must be a factor . Ive also noticed less new GasGas around over the last couple of years ,there's more Shercos and Betas with a few Ossas,Montesa and Jgas all competing for the same market .I think GasGas have got some big questions to answer
  18. I haven't found it to be better or worse than any of the other good 2t oils ,it does smell a bit sickly though
  19. huski replied to telecat's topic in Gas Gas
Enduro bikes are probably what has kept Sherco and GasGas afloat,Beta make scooters as well and I would think are the most financially stable .I feel something's got to change in the trials market,it's presently too small to support this many manufacturers, and will get harder when TRS and Vertigo start production Hopefully GasGas can come through thisi it's the most popular brand out there, but there must be a limit to how long they can be propped up

Looks to me like she nipped up unless you let the filter get really dirty and it sucked dirt through but I think you would have seen that in the intake whe you cleaned the filter All the other manufacturers recommend far richer oil mix as do the oil companies I would go with them once you've rebuilt it
  21. Check the frame for cracks around the headstock and rear shock mount Is the bashplate really scarred up or out of shape? Is the kickstart pivot loose, does it look well used or abused? They are a brilliant bike if you get a.good one but some have had a hard life in top riders hands and deteriorated too far to be worth buying Best to find one that you know the history of if possible I don't know what size engine you want but the 250 tends to appeal to mature riders who maintain them well and ride easier sections Unless you're good enough to fire up 5foot steps you won't find a 250 lacking. Find a good one and you'll love it
  22. They weren't that reliable that year, the gearboxes were weak and the build quality wasn't the best .They were ok by 2004 so it didn't take long to improve them .It may have later bits fitted by now and be ok.It looks clean enough check the rear linkage bearings for play the clutch will rattle in neutral but go quiet when pulled in .Ask what the owner what maintenance he does on it you want to hear about frequent gear oil changes and air filter cleaning Are the fasteners on it good or chewed up old bikes are a minefield you can be lucky but don't expect too much at that age and price I don't know what the 2nd hand market is like in France but in UK it would be more like £900/1000

My 2009 suzuki rmz450 runs perfectly hot or cold without needing an unsuitably high tick over so it seems it can be done without a battery . The bike has never needed any attention to the fi set up which is as well cos I wouldn't know what to do.My view is its great when it's right, definitely better than a carb but if it goes wrong at a meeting I'm stuffed which means a short push back to the pits. Its a different story on a trials bike when you could be 10 miles away
  24. Adjustable olle looks the best combination of cost and ride quality plus you won't have to change the links. You'd have to be a good expert to find anything lacking with that Spend the money you save on some lessons You'll improve much more quickly
