same happened to our 11 300 its the kickstart gears when they hit a certain chip the gears will move out of line slightly and there is zero tolerance inbetween so cracks it around the shaft and up. dont think you will be able to repair it tbh. but if the kickstart gears have any marks on change them or the same will happen again.instead of paying for a new one theres a trials breaker called allens used trials spares google it he will have one for the pros.

found out my bikes got milky oil so taken water pump apart and found there are polished lines in the shaft with abouletly tiny grooves in (like really small) i am selling the bike in a week or two so dont need it to last too long. will i be alright with just a new seal for now or do i need a new shaft?

do the main bearings on a montesa cota 200 1982 trials have to be put in a big press or can i carefully tap them in?

i can answer q1 for you! the bits of metal have been broken up fiinely and are probably al on your oil filler and drain plugs. ive done 3 idler gears and never found bits of metal because they just find there way to the plugs which are magnetic... every time you change the oil pull of all the metal so it can collect new bits or theywill stay flying around in the motor :/ hope that helps ben

check for hairline cracks up near the headstock. i know of three 2011s down here that ride the clubman route whos have cracked and mine has aswell. other than that unaware of any other issues but its a great bike just do the usual once over before you buy it...

when i cracked my cover on my 11 the cover came with two gaskets new sightglass and the kickstart rubber ring that sits in the case where the shaft goes in. and that was £85. i think your cover has cracked because your idle gear and starter gear are chewed up. (makes an anoying rattle). but if you catch a chewed up bit on the idle gear when starting it it will flex the case which will crack it instantly. change the starter and idle gear if there are any marks! thats what i was told by intabikes in kent

ive had my clice gloves for just over a year now and they are still good and i ride every other day with them. also got some of there trousers. mega comfy and have not ripped them yet on anything. my forma boulder boots are still like new and they are 5 months old...

All done thanks guys. Had to put old ones back in and put a chisel in and Prise the pistons back. They are also bedded in as well. I just put them through a few cycles (accelerating and then stopping) I did 6 of those (going along in 5 th and stopping and they gradually got sharper) then on the last ones when they were really hot poored cold water over them (water trick - thanks line away ) and now they are lovely and powerfull and sharp!

I've just checked and it is running abit lean (whiteish) colour of the plug. So done a half turn on the mixture screw out(richer ) I've just found out that some people down here heat the pipe up with a blow torch to clean the oil out and this makes them blue . Or it's been thrashed on the road... I did a little experiment. Started the bike up and road around for a minute untill the fan kicked in. The bike was not hot at all really just normal. The pipe was a slight purple/ blue but still looked pretty original tbh. Then I ragged it down the fields in 6th and it got really hot and dark ble like in the pic. (when I took the pic it was hot) After the bike cooled a little it lightend up abit and was less blue...

Buy a gasgas 2011 light (or older) but 2011 will still look good on your bike. The reason why I say 2011 and before is because it has a bulb. Instead of little LEDs in the new ones. You can put a 50 watt bulb in this light and that is very bright! A friend did it and the observer couldn't see the bike when pointing at him! Lol
