  1. Never ridden a TYZ, but I do own and SY 250 and I like it alot. The main reason I bought the SY is the yam motor, I cannot stand an unreliable bike...linkless rear suspension (a good + point) and a nice riding postion...more importantly it suits my riding style. Not heard of any problems with the Yam / Scorpa motor's but I have only been back into trial for a couple of years since a 10 year layoff, so I cant comment on that. Are you thinking of buying one?
  2. Decided to buy a new Beta toward the end of this summer, love the rev3's, but is there a new model planned for 06?? if so I'll hold out .
  3. Spoke to the gay blade himself this morning, he did say they were taking late telephone entries.
  4. Each to there own, but I must admit I always wear a helmet when riding.....I can see where Stevel is coming from, it is the folk who are around you and that have to deal with it that it could disturb the most. I would imagine in the 70's not many folk were trying to get up 10ft rock steps were they? Let them ride without lids, but first sign a disclaimer saying they don't want any first aid when they crack there head open.
  5. So what was wrong with the new bike then?
  6. Can't make Newquay, but my mate was sending our regs off for Bootle last Monday, I've heard it was on the hard side last year (not done the trial before ) The Welsh trophy I did do last year, and enjoyed and hopefully I'll be doing again this year. First trial on my ty175 and it showed even the engine came loose by the end of the trial, lost me front brake mounting pin with the vibration See you guys at Bootle, come over and say hello.
  7. Woody, I didn't say pre 65 bikes were rubbish at all I said I just wouldn't fancy riding one in the Mansell Like I said there is the Sammy Miller rounds for the pre65 boys, sections set to suit the bikes etc etc. I think South Birmingham run a miller round toward the end of the year, and I think Steve Goode is behind the Welshpool 2day.
  8. I don't think the overnight rain helped (and the snow showers!) I must admit I would not have liked to have done it on a pre 65 bike I guess the Sammy Miller rounds cater for the pre65 brigade ? I think the trial was pretty good and hats off to the South Birmingham lot, pity about the overnight rain etc..if it would have been dry it would have been spot on.

    Montesa 4rt

    120 / 18st ??? I reckon it should be reading 128 and 20st
  10. Thought the trial today was good overall, I still rode like a plonker though The only moan for me was the last group (easthope woods) the mud (glue!) just kept jamming up my Front wheel up...I had to take 5's on the last two subs cause the bike just wouldn't turn a wheel. Modern w/cooled bikes seemed to out number the older stuff (or was it just me)
  11. Agree, BMW's are lovely.
  12. First round this Sunday, the DK Mansell......any TC boys going? I'm number 12 (I think) if the weather hold out it should be a good trial on and around the Clee Hills in Shropshire, see ya there.
  13. Puffta's, all of ya!! get it down yer neck....what smells better than two stroke oil eh
  14. It'll be in the post to you Friday Nige

    Tlr / Rtl Prices

G4321, give it a rest dude...we get the message, you have a TLr and it's worth loads
  16. Been here before with road bikes BS, 99% of time you will have to strip down and pull the seals out.......get your self a very small flat screwdriver or even better a dentist's pick and clean out the recess the seal sits in, WD 40 will help as a cleaning solvent. replace seals with new and you will be away. The problem lies with the alloy body which the seal sits in, the alloy starts to rot under the seal pushing the seal against the piston and making it even harder for it to work properly...........
  17. I'm only going along for the breakfast BS, Spence did mention something about riding motorbikes afterwards!! I dunno I'll try and get a few pics Stu if I can find my camera Spelling and me have never really hit it off BS RUGBY: a game played by males who are more interested in the shower action after the game
  18. You'll love the Welsh Scene I'm sure Stu, lovely (isnt it!) country side (when it's not p***ing down and you can meet Bikespace, easy to spot...imagine a rugy playing Johnny Vegas and you'll get the picture I don't play rugby but I do look like Johnny Vegas Still got your road bike by anychance? I do the crossgates cafe run quite a bit in the summer on me CBR
  19. If my mates 240 mono does not sell I'm thinking of buying it for myself, be a nice mount in the aircooled mono class. RS has mentioned the engine spares are easy to come by but what about mudguards and the like?
  20. Me and the two Stretton Gays are in BS were giving the 'masters route' a go Fancy breakfast at the cafe at crossgates first? aiming to be at the cafe by 7.30am and get the nosebag on and be at the venue by 9 to 9.30. I'll try and save you some bacon
  21. mate of mine is selling a 240, with disc conversions, tidy bike for
  22. Surely though someone as big as Honda would be able to afford to run both the fourstroke and the twostroke if only for a year or so to see how the sales went........I can just see some guys will not want a fourstroke bike and switch brands thus Montesa will lose sales. Will be interesting to compare sales figures after say 12 months.
