  1. Finaly took the plunge and bought one hopefully collect it this Saturday. Things I'd like to get done in the future: Would like to...get front down pipe chromed (nothing worse than a rusty ols exhaust!) or has anybody got any other ideas to stop the rust? Also, get an Alloy tank made like the one is the pic of the SSDT bike, I might know of a chap who could do this but if he can't does anybody know of tank maker? (UK only) I wonder if the I could get the rear mudguard off the SY250 to fit? mark
  2. Check to see it's not split, my 01 250 did just that right along it's top seam!, had to have it alloy welded. mark
  3. Just got my TY insured for twelve months, cost me
  4. You a very funny guy. I kill you last
  5. After my long layoff (9 years) I come back riding the 'inter; route but this was too hard for me, I wasn't enjoying my riding so I'm now riding the 'Yellow route' which is a toss up between the hard and the easy. This route is spot on , It wouldn't bother me in thre least if some narrow minded tosser started to moan (if I ever won any of them ) after all as marky boy says...it's only a bit of fun I'll be 40 in June so I look forward to that 'safe haven'....Bikespace, I thought you were nearer 50!!

I think if you buy any bike you should use it, I hate seeing bikes that are just done up for show I like to see the twin shock bikes around but I'll stick to my TY250 for that classic feel, it can still outgrip some of the modern bikes. I've entered it in the two local ACU Classic trials rounds near me in April, the Welsh Trophy on the 3rd and The Hooper Trophy on the 25th. Be nice to put some faces to the names if anybodys about

I'll have to try and get a go on my mates KT, the last time I rode with him he was a Gas Gas man through & through......now he says he isn't bothered with the modern stuff, he just likes riding the KT.

Wow....where did you buy that catch tray from Boofont? now that is a PROPER TRAY

How many of you yanks drive diesel motors?? were almost forced into driving them in the UK to get anything like decent MPG. I've just got this mental picture of everyone over in the US driving the Genral Lee at 100 mph everywhere and then bitching about the MPG
  10. Landrover do a Hi Capicity pick up , with a longer back than normal, you will have to have the canvas cover as well. I don't think your going to get a full size bike in the back of a 110 hardtop and close the door.
  11. I've got a Disco and I carry my bike on a bike rack which I made myself, No getting stuck and no hassle with a trailer. I find mine very comfy to drive big distance (300 TDI) not too bad on juice either. My disco is big enough in the back to push all the seats forward and i can get changed in the back when it's p***ing down...no problem. Vans are cool, I was thinking of buying a van before the Disco but, I had MAJOR hassle trying to get it insured.........they just don't believe that you are going to use it for pleasure purposes, in the end I was put off the whole idea just because of the insurance thing. If you can get past the insurance thing why not go for a 4X4 Transit, they say they just don't get stuck.

Cheers for that Mick, don't know what the group of sections were called either, just after the pic was took the rider went up a step and under the road bridge . Lovely trials country on the side of the Clee Hills Your right, they are very tasty looking machines indeed. Has John Bliss got a website by any chance ??

Come to think of it, was you the guy who's bike I held whilst you were looking at a section in the last group?? That was a KT too.
  14. Thats one of the reasons it's took my eye Ishy...lack of radiator to get clogged up

I did happen to see another KT at the Mansell, but it couldn't have been you cause the bloke who was riding it was really ugly
  16. Whats the word on Clutch Mods?? I hear it is quite heavy in it's action. Anybody got any more pics of the little 125??

The footrest's come with the hangers, you just grind the old ones off and weld the new ones on, easy on the TY with it's steel frame

    Gearbox sprocket cover

I've got one action shot of one of the bikes ........the pic isn't very good though , this guy was the older of the two gents riding. They both seem to perform well enough though..what struck me was the quiteness of the motor, almost like a sewing machine The one lad said the motors come with shell type bearings (aka Honda) but there took apart and all the shell bearings replaced with roller bearings!. At first I thought the motor was out of an ATV, it has got quite a large gearbox sprocket cover!

Cheers for that Dave, I suppose sales must have been bad for them just to stop making Trials bikes alltogethor, how much of a share do they have in Scorpa then? Everyone nows that Honda still make bikes under the guise of Montesa. What did Mick Andrews think of the TYZ anyway?

Both of them had the name Cotswold on the tanks big John, the tanks looked like early Yam ones (even the stripe looks like Yam), here it is from the other side.

Came from Shirts apparantly, I can only presume there from GAS GAS stock. Weld straight onto the frame, has anybody else done this mod? if so how much were the footrests?

Would love to now more about this type of bike spotted at the DK Mansell trial last Sunday, there were two of them riding round...a brief chat with one of the riders, he mentioned tha the motor was made in China (a Honda copy?) 200cc and very sweet sounding indeed.
