  1. Thats wot I was thinking. Most of those hard or impossible to find things can be made in small series production and then they really are expensive! A set of repro side panels sell for 90 quid . Then again wat do the originals cost? A gas gas side cover costs also over a hundred quid! but alu!!!
  2. I think they are about 20 quid from steve Goode! Give him a call lee
  3. Fantic 200 and 240 replica Sidepanels have been made in the past. Also the chain slippers for a 240/300. They are quite close to the originals and worked very well. These are now being sold in the uk, germany and italy via a few dealers. I will also be making some white plastic tank badges which can be painted to from the Fantic logo! I am now thinking
  4. The first thing to do is use a teflon coated cable and a lever from domino. Then add a 428 chain lintk to the top of the lever fixed with a 3mm or 4 mm nut and bolt. (You may haver to drill the clutch arm slightly). Finally raise the cable fixing block in top of the motor to stop the cable kinking. The added leverage will lighten the clutch without having too much travel! HTH Lee PS. If you want a lighter clutch, use a hebo hydraulik clutch kit!
  5. The 97 section had an alloy frame which cracked alot. It was p
  6. Can also be used on girlfriends handbacks to the same effect lee PS am I bejond prostitution here in the fatherland????
  7. Yeah Matt, a phone number and address would be good. Did the guy rewind just the primary coil? wot abot the pickup, any tips on that

    Keihin Carb.

carbon reeds are used on difficult sections where normal reeds dont provide enuff griff. Drive through the carbon reeds, squash them into the mud, and you can climb the rock on a fsie!

    Keihin Carb.

GG offer a keihin as a replacement for both the 280 and 300. I dont think there is a kit available for any other model. I
  10. Where to start...... I have a 240 fantic which benefited very well from a 300 carb and inlet.A guy here put the dellorto from a 280 GG on his.... I only have a 3o3 rear brake kit left (caliper, MC, hose, disc, hub but no rim. You can have the lot inclding the swing arm for 40 quid...... give me two weeks for a picture, the frame is being blasted as it woz cracked...i will start a new thread. the 200 fantic is also a great bike, assuming you are joe blow and not adam raga
  11. give the guy a medal. The 240 Fantic is certainly one of the best; Now if I finish putting the 303 engine into it, 303 exhaust front, top engine mount.....300 front brake (Discs and hyrd clutchs are not intended for twinshocks and are illegal over here!) 301 swing arm, 300 seat, 303 gold rims (With tubes..... Will post a picture if I ever finish it! lee
  12. If the bike has a red plastic moulded set of primary windings, or, only two wires at the ht coil if you have not removed the flywheel, you may have problems. These ignition systems are as rare as weapons of mass destruction in Iraq! If the HT has 3 wires it is a later type and the primary can be rewould. if you do have the olded 2 cable system, you will need a complete new ignition system, plus crankcase and flywheel from a later fantic. a 241/301 or 303 will fit and are better as they have weights which can be removed. If you cant get stuff from bill, I can get stuff here. that conversion will be well over 200 quid though!!! Lee
  13. If the 240 is not already sold, send me a mail and some piccies to lee.harris >atsign>freenet.de. I will be in the uk at easter and i cant bare to think there is a fantic out there that doesnt belong to me!
  14. The 95 section was a good bike in its time and used a steel frame unlike the alloy 96 and 97 models. The alloy frames cracked at the shock mount and the steel frames on the top tubes, under the tank, where the angle down to the pegs. Check it has been well repaired. If it is not welded then the bike has not had a bod life! Spares are available in UK 8Bill Pye) and europe but remeber fantic went bust and out of business. The parts are getting rarer and more expensibe. If you have trouble, send me a mail and I can help. The engine, if good is a sweet unit. It has two flywheek weights which can be removed. I would leave them on! The kickstart shafts do tend to snap and the engine has to be split if this happens. Dont let this put you off, ! like my sections alot, and i thinke the 95 was the best model. HTH lee
  15. If you are talking fantics, they are one and the same bike. the fantic 240 professiona
  16. If the 303 is a 250, then go for that rather than the 301. 2 discs instaed of only 1, better shock, much better marzochhi M1 forks etc. still a handful for a beginner....a bit like an oil tanker when compared to GG ;-) What is the selling price in the states? lee
  17. Heres my two pennies worth...... I bought a 240 here in germany for 300 quid last year. it needed shocks tyres, sidempanels etc but the engine is sweet and the forks chrome is perfect. It cost me about another 350 quid to make it the way it should be. The bonus was that the frame was not cracked at the headstock. I have just bought 2 x 240s in the uk. Both about 300 quid each but both framnes are cracked, bad chrome etc. Still usable but will need all the usual bits like tyres, chain etc. Spares are still available here, even kickstarts! Just in case you want the top limit...I have just rebuilt a 303 engine and put that in a 240 frame. Not finished yet but the engine cost 700 quid in parts alone. add in the cost of the 300 quid bike plus tyres and chainset and 1400 quid is easily reached. I dont want to sell any of them as i ride the 240 better than a 300 I have and the 200 lacks a bit of power for my liking! Pay your money and take your choice,. happy hunting lee
  18. Both were very capable bikes in their day...maybe long in the tooth now. Spares in the UK ansd Yurup are ok, in the states it may be a problem! People have been know to send a motor from NY to germans to have a kickstart shaft replaced, see below. . The 301 had lots of power but the kickstart shafts may (will??) break which means engine out and split tzhe cases. the 125 -303 does not suffer from this problem. The 125 can be upgraded fairly easy to a
  19. If you have a real 240 frme and not a fwd kick 200 then it must be a 301/241 swingarm. all others )incl. 303 have 17mm shaft instead of 20mm Lee PS I have a set of hubs, discs, calipers, spokes and master cylinders from a 303 if you are interested!I also have a 303 swingarm if you want to mod the 240 frome to take a 17mm shaft!MAIL at lee.harris(at)freenet.de
  20. Moin moin Munster mann, I would go and buy a WES from Peter Schwarz.....
