  1. Did you remember the ball bearing between the two clutch pushrods? Lee
  2. Its so sad....you only love her because of her bike......
  3. Hi everone...if you want my two pennies worth....dont use the clubman. They are cheap and cheerful but only have 10mm damper rods and 75mm travel. The experts do evrything i need and I ride in the specialist class of the d-cup. I have not tried the spherical bearing version as they are very expensive! The rubber bushes i have (5 x 240, 2 x 300, 1 x 200 bikes) are ok for me. More important is to get thedealer to give you the right spring rate for your weight in pounds, stones, furlongs or whatever. i got a set for a m8 here in german and he weighs 120 kg or 240 pounds. (god knows ho many firkins that is). steve goode got norman from njb to supply springs for his weight and hes as happy as a cat with two tails.!!! The clubmans also come with two springs fitted(2 rates) I tried this on one set of experts and they were not better, although they cost 15 pounds uk more. jUST USE THE STD EXPERTS: lol lEE
  4. Willst surfing ebay in italy last week I stumbled upon a twinshock Beta 125cc. Needless to say I had to buy it (it woz cheap) and now I need to pick it up next time I visit Turin. Does anybody have Information on this or the 200 version? A 200 barrel and piston would also be jolly good if anyone has one lying abaout! Lee
  5. oops LT Coil.... I think so. Bill gets them rewound. try getting yours done in Plmouth. (TMX) Hts also available from Steve Goode lee
  6. I personally would not recommend putting a 200 bottom yoke on a 240. The late twin screw yokes that came with the 240s were also fitted to latter 200s to stop the forks steering themselves. I have the same mod on all my 240s and havnt had a problem....the forks are not going to be like my 300 gasgas now are they..... I will check and see if i have the same problem and willl get back to you. I have 3 of 4 pairs if 200 and 240 yokes which I will measure and post the results with a drawing. I think your 0,6mm is just toleramnce. If so you might want to look for one with a bitter fit HTH Lee

    240 Gearing

I run my std 240 on 10/39. I also have one with 11/41 and cant really tell the difference. I also have a 245 engine in a 240 and run that at 11/44 which is probably a bit too low. I think 12/39 is too high as I like 3 gear climbs every now and again! Lee
  8. they call it 321 because of a rock band called spinal tap. there amplifiers went to 11.......one more. Most bands play at full volume and where can you go from there....nowhere. which is why the ST amps went to 11.......1 more. The previuos motor, which was altogether different, was called a 320...where can you go from there...one more! I liked mine too when I had it. But a 300 pro is also nice..... Lee
  9. What do you think... a guy here ride it inthe modified pre65 class...
  10. I use ATF in my 240s and 300s. The clutch slipped on the 300 with Elf Synth gear Oil and no longer does. Just make sure you change it regularly as the mains need good oiling. At 500cc its not that expensive. HTH
  11. Anybody form here going to ride this event? If so stop me and say hello. I will be riding my 243 engined 240 for the first time...I hope it stays the distance. lee
  12. ....would like some myself. Difficult to find now in my size....FB.....fat ba
  13. the copy is not the shiny one...stainless inserts...worked quite well even if it did cost and arm and a leg for the tools Lee
  14. 36cm or 13,9 inches. Use the clutch plates you have as mine are under the change limit and the clutch doesnt slip. The springs are more important that the plate thickness. Lee
  15. Rewound coils and triggers are available from Billy Boy Pye in Yorkyshire. Expensive but better than scraping the bike!!! Bill sends them to Spain for rewiding. Postage, VAT etc etc. We have to keep these old bikes running and as the parts get damaged, so the bits will be harder to find. I
  16. I have NJB experts on a 300, 240 and 200 fantic. Cant beat them for value for money. Some say the falcons are the best, I had two pairs which leaked after a year although they did perform slightly better! To get a good price email steve goode! www.stevegoodemotorcycles.co.uk HTH Lee
  17. I like that.... I wish I had the time and patience to see my stuff through to the end. Most of the time, by the time the frame is sandblasted and the engine rebuilt, I have a date for the next trial that I MUST ride, And of course. it has to be on the bike I am presently working on . (I have 4 or 5 good runners but no, it HAS to be that one. This means that the exhaust might get cleaned with caustic if I
  18. Hi Mark, obviously the carb needs to come from the 301 as the 240 has 25mm not 26mm. I assume you have the 301 intake manifold. I have several 303 carbs here if you want one but the 300 carb is best. let me know. You will alsoneed a 300 airbox rubber if you can find one. If not the240 hose needs "opening up!" Lee
  19. Or, leave the frame alone and make new engine mounts. The front mounting will move up and back. The exhaust will need cutting and the carb fit is a hassel... Black mount is original 240! Third solution is to cut out one or both bottom rails as per a 300. I dont think this is good as the 240 frames crack at the headstock anyway. If you do this, remove only the flywheel side bottom rail and add a top mount to the front head bolts as on a 300 /301/303 etc. HTH Lee PS. I am working on getting a 303 engine, maybe for you Mark, but the guy hasnt give me a price yet.. http://cgi.ebay.de/Fantic-303-Trail-Evtl-M...1QQcmdZViewItem
  20. Here is one way of doing it, see my 243 engined 240. Heat the frame and flaten the bottom rail after removing the flywheel protector. Make a STEEL sumpguard. Everything else, carb exhaust etc is straight carry over.
  21. I think we have discussed this but no it is not a straight fit. I will post pictures to shown wot needs doing! I have done the hammer it way already on a 243 and will do a hammer it and a top mount again this summer with a 303 motor. I will post pictures when its done. lee
  22. Gasgas are just so *****. I should know, i have a 2004 300 pro. Why does the bottom yoke have to dent the frame? The QA man should be strung up by his Balls! It wouldnot happen on a Mont, and doesnt happen on my fantic! If the engine wasnt so luvvly......! Lee
  23. Hi, on the tank cap it usually says 2% which is 50 to 1. I use 75 to 1 or 1,5% but only full synthetic oil. And I dont ride road sections on full throttle either!. If you are just riding in the woods the 1,5% is plenty if its a good oil! PS I run my 300 GG on the same oil at 100 to 1. 3 years down the road and no probs yet! Lee

    What Is It

Hi stan, if it says 403 it could be a 249. Look at the right engine case, on top, behind the kickstart, The cc is punched in there!
