  1. Been looking into an additive that you add to your coolant that reduces the water temperature great minds think alike
  2. Cheers for that info FF fan was working perfectly in fact fan was working overtime yesterday poor bugger tank very hot but others i compared with yesterday had hot tanks too i rode it today and it was perfect......pity i wasn't
  3. Any one care to flash a ferret at this? 05 4rt never been a problem. In a small trial yesterday, short laps low entry. While riding the second lap just about non stop cos there were no que's i did the second lap without re fuelling tank was below half full i stopped half way round the lap to rest, it was really hot and sunny, i got talking to various people and had left the bike ticking over. I must have sat about 5 mins with the bike ticking over perfectly. I entered the section opened the throttle to climb a small rock and the engine just died, felt like i had not turned petrol on and it was running out of fuel however i closed the throttle and it ticked over perfectly , the engine did not die completely. i got it out of the section and tried to ride to the next section but it would not respond to the throttle it wouldn't pull at all. It would still tick over perfectly. Stopped at the next section and let it cool down, removed the fuel cap, but did not here any pressure release, after about 10 minutes i started her up and she ran perfectly. After another lap, i had refueled by then the same symptoms returned. If i stopped and let it cool down it would run fine again. I had fitted a brand new air filter prior to the trial, running a standard plug approx 6 weeks old, engine oil and filter changed regularly, in fact only changed the week before. I can not get the bike to display the same characteristics at home. Any ideas or anyone had a similar problem?
  4. Its a big loop 20 sections in the morning and 20 in the afternoon your bike fitness will probably be more important than your riding ability. Think there is a couple of big waterfalls but most of the local clubmen attempt all the sections. You'll be fine
  5. Have you bought it Neonsurge?
  6. Wrong bars, wrong mudguards and wrong seat. Are you allowed to advertise original condition when they're not? As Perce says rear shocks are upside down and air box is missing
  7. Not a Montesa in sight! What has happened to John Sunter he was down as riding a Gas Gas has he parted company with Montesa and John Crinson was down as riding a Gas Gas has he left Sherco?
  8. I change engine oil every 6 weeks and every second time oil and filter. Clean air filter after every ride and change the plug every 12 weeks. You need one before the lambshields trial Gordon No frozen carbs The nice thing is everything comes off and goes back on like a dream nothing out of line no fiddly clips to screw air filter housing bolts into and i changed from Gas Gas Pro to 4rt and didn't really notice the weight difference. Mines 10 months old if you want a try i'll be at Cowshill and Oxenlaw this weekend PM me
  9. You got that rack and sherco tied together with the cable from your lighting board What stops the bike from hitting the car? If it's an upright bar behind the rear wheel does it mark your rim when tightened up?
  10. clicky This has to be the quickest way to put the bike in the van ever
  11. John Crinson and Michael Phillipson are holding a trials school at Warden Law, go kart track at sunderland, on 3rd June only a few places left if you have a bike by then if not see if you can watch/take photos your bound to learn something. Most of the trials have an easy route and all the lads will offer you support and help
  12. Thursday night attended awards presentation for North East Centre ACU and Seaton Delaval Motor Club.Had a chance to rub shoulders with some greats of the past, Matty Bell and George Shorter, i'm expecting a few cleans for that mention :rolleyes:Bryce and Ray Crinson and Billy Maxwell and some greats of the present, Michael Phillipson and Colin Ward. Big well done to the greats of the future watch out for these lads. A Class Champion Lewis Peart B Class Champion Dale Robson C Class Champion John Battensby D Class Champion Billy Bolt Another young lad to watch out for is Joe McMeekin who is coming on a treat and improving each week. As with all award ceremonies there is always people there making up the numbers so hello to Phil Clarke Friday morning bright and early off to the Consett Club Trial at Buttsfield Quarry. Paul Egon and team marked out an excellent course and the easy route was eased a little to accomodate the TY80's and give the youngsters a good ride around the wood. A touching moment before the start saw a minutes silence in honour of Colin Ward Senior.Cleaned and prepped the bikes and my son suggested an hours practice on Saturday afternoon. I must be mad. Sunday off to Bollihope Trial run by the Weardale club. I would guestimate 180 entries from Scotland to Yorkshire and it was a cacking trial with Maureen in the sandwich van selling out! Son's bike lost its rear brake in the middle of lap 2 so he retired. I had a big off in between sections so have a badly bruised shoulder and hip luckily my head took most of the impact Got home and washed bikes son says he isn't riding on Monday and goes out on the drink. 1.30am Sunday morning drunken son wakes me up and says i think I will ride tomorrow if i can fix my brakes what time we leaving? 7am Monday morning make a bacon sandwich then look at mysterious brakes. No pedal, no fluid loss pads are only about two months old i'm sure of this cos the bike is only that old anyway we bleed the brakes. He eventually joined me at 8.15am as soon as we got a satisfactory pedal son says I need the loo and dissappears to leave me to load two bikes and all the gear he then appears just as i'm tightening the last strap We head off to Elsdon for the Bedlington club trial and enjoy another excellent days sport well done Colin Battensby and team. Half way round the third lap I see a young lad about 13 and i notice he has missed a section so I tell him. I've ridden three trials in four days he says and I'm knackered. I told him son wait till your 45 you don't even know what knackered is yet Many thanks to all observers and course markers and entry takers and results people we couldn't enjoy it without you. Now i'm looking forward to work for a rest
  13. thats what i thought but obviusly theres some carefull posties out there cos mine is luverly, ive put some corsa sxi alloys on and gone right through her and she only needed oil/air/deisel filters, oil, front brake pads and a waterpump total bill for bits was about
  14. I have heard of a couple up in North East/ North Yorkshire area damaging casings if the kickstart is allowed to 'fly' back by itself after a kick. They were repaired under warranty. Heard of another sold by a dealer who either couldn't repair it or didn't have time. Sandifords PAID another dealer to carry out the repair sounds like you can get warranty repairs done from any Montesa dealer. Welldone Sandifords I have a 4rt and have not experienced the 'slip' of the kickstart or any unnatural noises whilst starting. If yours is under warranty i would take it back to your dealer you get 6 months warranty. You don't mention if your kicking in gear with clutch in or not i tend to put mine in neutral to kick or it takes 5 or 6 kicks with the clutch in instead of 1 or 2. When i bought mine i asked to have the 315 clutch master cylinder fitted. Al the Spanner suggested i try the bike standard till first service and i haven't bothered changing my clutch. It either works fine or i have gotten used to the on off operation of it What are your other'maladies' i think mine is great
  15. Found your carb set up and mod tips very helpful for Beta. I'm sure theBeta forums loss will be Sherco's gain Clarkp Enjoy your new bike
  16. It is Jock BJ. He came down to Longframlington last Sunday and had a nice ride round. Hadn't seen him for almost a year and the last time we saw him, last year, he had the head off in the field/car park in between laps Really nice guy
  17. Any one got any views on the new transporter or anything to watch out for?
