  1. I accept narky Kinell, little fella turned up at 4.27am yesterday and I'm just about going to give up on sleep for now
  2. yes Kinell the Beta was at the ssdt in 07 but nobody knew anything about it prior to the Milan show a few months earlier. If a bike is developed in secrecy you can change the launch date as many times as you like. Xispa maybe announced the bike too early but I still hope they succeed if only to improve the quality of the rest. ps the Beta Rev 3 was launched in 2000 and their still working in the electrics 8 years later........... All the bikes have room for improvement !!
  3. He's here !! check your PMs
  4. Bilco your a genius stock sherco
  5. Hi Borus the 07 caby has a lower compression head so that it revs higher I think. My friends 07 caby is much easier to start and also doesnt kick back so maybe I could get a caby cylinder head ?
  6. Yes and I think thats the only factory bits you get with the Repsol replica, oh alright you get a headlamp which you then remove and put on a trials number board......... Gets up my nose a bit which probably shows in this post !
  7. Have a look at motocrossdigital.com they did a test of Bou's 07 factory bike 300cc ignition has 3 maps which are changed via bluetooth 4 speed gearbox factory suspension and its lighter than a Gas Gas Pro !!
  8. Thats more scary than the pig n whistle rund wor way.......... HAM i'd sooner change the filter in a dyson with it running than gan up there man nee bairn yet either..

is the moto merlin price not just from earlier in the year ? ie they havent updated their website ?
  10. You should have posted this in the Gas Gas forum The TXT ceased production in 02, maybe 03 and is a different bike entirely, you can t get a 300 TXT either. The TXT was reliable but a heavier bike. THe pro commenced production in 2002 and unless you want a bike thats five years old you will have to buy a pro.
  11. Is the carb touching the crankcase or the support that bolts onto the barrel ? Your carb is rubber mounted so it shouldnt rattle unless its touching somewhere.
  12. Thanks for the photos, can you confirm the bike is standard apart from decals and paint ?
  13. Its an 07 copemech, trouble is I really like the performance as it is so I was hoping there was some other issue that was relevant. Maybe I need to build up my right leg so I can kick it harder in the first place. The pedal is heat treated apparently so when its been welded this has undone some of the heat treatment effect. I wouldnt recommend anyone else try welding one as I could of got a kickstart in the leg if I had been less fortunate.
  14. Its a little tight on the second bike which needs a bit of lock to get the door shut. on the plus side if the strap slips the second bike cant actually fall over
  15. If its quiet when its cold 1 oversize at .25mm will be fine. I had one that wasn't that noisey years ago but you could feel it rattle under load and I could get a 6 thou feeler gauger between the piston skirt and the bore. Got it rebored and went up one piston size and it was perfect. So unless you can get an 8 thou gauge in I'd say you will be fine.
  16. how bad does it rattle ? It would need to be horrendous for a .25 rebore not to be enough. have you got feeler gauges just to give an idea of the amount of wear ?
  17. I own the new style Combo and contary to the post above I can tell you that you can get 2 bikes and all your gear in one. I 've done it countless times. You do need to remove the guard though so that the front wheel from the first bike will poke through between the seats.
  18. Hi All When I first got my 290 it kicked back terribly when you tried to start it. Once it was run in I found it bit too powerful so retarded the timing by about 5mm as per copemechs diagram (see earlier posts). This made the power delivery much smoother and I really like the bike but it still kicks back terribly. Recently I noticed a small crack in the kickstart no doubt caused by it kicking back all the time so I got somebody to weld it. Ive tried to start it today and it kicked back as usual, bent the kickstart out of shape and re opended the crack in the kickstart so know i need a new pedal ! I'm presuming welding the pedal has weakend the alloy ? What I need to know is why my bike kicks back so much as I dont want to replace the pedal and break another one, is anyone elses 290 like this ? Can you retard the timing too far ?Its an 07 by the way cheers

It really depends on you Ben. The Keihin is a trade off, it will give smoother low rpm power and a lot more high rpm power. So if you are fiving sections because you bke doesnt rev high enough then it could be worth doing. However if your not having that problem keep your money.
  20. I think originally before the exchange rate change a 290 was
  21. can you try that in english, Ive got no idea what you want .
  22. Well thats just not fair first of all he was a better rider and now you show me he has kept his hair !
  23. Yes its possible but its also unlikely as they rarely give trouble. The only places air can get in via the caliper are the connection with the hose, the joint between the two sides of the caliper or the seals around the pistons. I've never had to replace the seals around the piston on any bike and as long as the bolts are tight which hold the caliper together its extremly unlikely to leak from the joint. You may have a problem getting to the hose to seal, when you have lost pressure have you checked that all the joints are dry ? If you can get it work on the bench and then leave it for an hour does it still work ?
  24. The pistons may be seized in the caliper or the system has too much fluid in it. The resevoir should not be full to the brim, it should have some space for expansion, this is the easiest thing to check. If it has space in the resevoir then try and push the pistons back, you may need to work them back and forward a few times to get them moving freely. If they are corroded then you need to replace them. You should only clean them in brake fluid, dont apply WD40 or similar as this can cause the seals to swell.
