  1. Yes its a big lap , about 10 miles I think but its one of the best NE trials of the year, get yourself there mate. theres two courses and we'll give you a standing ovation when your bike starts you need a full tank for each lap so bring plenty petrol
  2. I loved the story of him jumping the double decker buses a mate was telling me of a documentry about it apparently Evil turns up and looks a bit puzzled, the promoter asked what was wrong and he replied " I didnt think the buses were this big, I cant jump that far !" as the tickets had all been sold he had a go anyway.......... some fella RIP
  3. I can t believe a man who rides his bike up and down the drive has been able to wear out a tyre Has Ham fitted a tyre in preperation for this weekends trial ? be good to see you there Ham, its a great trial and I'm tired of being last
  4. I'm sure he married Gilles Burgats sister. the book he did was excellent, although I can t do some of those things now and I've been trying for 25 years !!
  5. Well done mate trial sunday then ? theres two to choose from !
  6. BUT getting back to windlestones point if you have an 08 scorpa why do you need to know how to start a 4rt ? are you a closet 4rt fan ? are you dyslexic and bought a Scorpa by mistake
  7. baldilocks replied to a post in a topic in Beta
wonder if the inferior, made in china, Xispa will have that problem ? still a new Beta is only
  8. THe biggest mistakes I made when learning this technique ( like I'm a professional now ) were 1) not revving the bike hard enough, the first time you do rev it hard enough you think your going to die when you let out the clutch ! 2) approaching the kicker too fast, the bike needs to be almost at a standstill when you let out the clutch to get the lift you need, its really a slingshot.
  9. yes i'm in tonight ham and Ive got the seals here now. they are 25 40 7
  10. Wayne as I'm an accountant by profession lets look at costs and benefits Option A if you use the new seals you have you can rebuild your bike and then need to do quite a lot of work after only 10 mins of riding if the seal leaks Cost
  11. baldilocks replied to jack_h's topic in Beta
In my experience Mr Kinell is right. You can check by going to both extremes, you should be able to tell if its too rich or weak
  12. NO NO NO Ham, you cant give up on the mains replacement and buy a Beta after all the advice the TC community has provided .
  13. Couldn't help myself I used to have a 315 though You can apparently fit CR250 clutch plates to the 315 although I haven't done it myself. From memory I think there are three paper based plates and the others are fibre or cork, its the paper plates that cause the dragging. I just used PJ1 cluch tuner in mine and it was ok
  14. windlestone told me the clutch in the 315 and the 4rt is rubbish. apparently thats why Doug left
  15. Doug for me and what he rides is a bit of a side show ( i have just returned from the pub ) what will Cota Kids new name be ? Beta Boy or Beta Blokey ? or will he be tight and try and modify his existing one piece suit collection ? might see you sunday CK
  16. I reckon 4 months from the first time he mentioned it and he's only got the engine out of the frame this week. So by the time he's finished........................
  17. As TMX were a little shy I though't I'd post this on here Mr Roger Harvey Williams, the Stockton Stallion, clevelands answer to George Clooney no less, won the Twin Shock class at the Peak trial and secured his first British Championship. No doubt he's still talking about it and looking forward to those championship winners get togethers in the years to come with Dougie, Graham, Steve Colley, Steve Saunders and friends. I understand he will NOT be moving to Switzerland for tax reasons congratulations mate.
  18. like it perce cheaper than bondage gear as well for that real leather feel..........
  19. I rode schoolboy trials in the 80's but can t remember the place you mean, I thought you where talking about Langley Park at first which Durham County used to have
  20. baldilocks replied to ham2's topic in Anything goes
so why didnt you get the flwheel nut and the primary gear nut undone at Steves while you were at it ? Ive never tried holding the flywheel mate
  21. baldilocks replied to ham2's topic in Anything goes
any success with the clutch basket Wayne ? gear is all here to do it if your stuck Clutch Basket 1 Wayne 0 ! Primary gear is quite hard to remove as well
  22. without wishing to start a bun fight compare the latest 4rt to Ragas prototype Gas Gas. either the Mont is totally over engineered or that Gas Gas is going to snap ! my mountain bike has thicker frame tubes than the new Pro !
  23. You can do some practice in your garage how good is your balance ? you can try putting the bike in gear then putting the front wheel up against a wall (about 3 foot from the ground) then see if you can balance the bike , with the back brake on you should be able able to hop the front wheel on the flat, and balancing the bike on the flat is also good. okay you will not learn throttle control but your using all the right muscles and improving your balance so its better than nothing. I'm assuming you have a garage or garden ?
  24. PJ1 is Blue not sure if any others are
  25. baldilocks replied to ham2's topic in Anything goes
I do hope you have problems fitting those bearings Wayne mrs baldilocks is a born and bread mackem, I dread to think where she'll put your bearings. seals leaking will be the least of your worries !!! AND just in , from Mrs Baldilocks, Portsmouth 4 Toon 1 !!
