Most people would love a light throttle!
  2. I would stick with plastic for the shark fin as it will have more give than carbon. Case savers? depends on whether you think a new case is cheaper than a saver I suppose! For a few quid is it worth the risk?

The exhaust is not bolted on these but held in with 2 springs. I would check tappets and camchain adjustment first and go from there.
  4. Drill a couple of small pilot holes in the seal. Screw in 2 self tapping screws then pull out seal using pliers
  5. Don't know if this will help or further muddy the waters, but the following is from a kit car forum I sometimes use. I have just had my SABTVRO VIN number allocated by DVLA. It is the normal start to the VIN for cars that have chassis/body shell modifications or are new build. I don't know if the normal meaning of the numbers applies in this case.
  6. Try a higher gear

The rear wheel is the earlier 2009/10 type, also the rad filler as Bilks said. I know the rear subframe mounts also changed on later models and this looks like the single bolt early type
  8. APICO do an identical one. Only difference is it says Apico insead of Jitsie. They are around £15 in the UK
  9. So really we are talking Sunday 20th March. 99% of UK trials are on a Sunday. If you can give an idea of where you are staying I am sure something could be sorted
  10. Yep, certainly if you do not feel comfortable mechanically investigating yourself.
  11. Very difficult to diagnose over the internet. Could be a number of things, from pre ignition thru to piston or small end

Also, is it a 250 or 300 if an Evo?
  13. Unless I have slept through a month, this weekend is 29th November. Note Sussex, but Thamess MCC have a trial at Bagshot South this Sunday
  14. Ray Haslam used to ride a very early Sherpa back in our early Surrey Schoolboy days, wonder if he still has it?

Used to get my bits from Birketts, or Yamaha dealer for engine
  16. The clutch being stiff is normally a sign of the clutch pack being out of spec (just replaced mine for this exact reason). The max height of the clutch pack should be 9.85mm, mine was just over 10mm. It worked fine but was just a little heavier than I remembered when I got the bike. Also make sure the lever is correctly adjusted at the handlebar end. There are some excellent videos by Jim Snell of Rising Sun imports on You Tube showing how to set it up correctly. The Beta clutch mod isn't needed on the GG
  17. If you were staying in the Surrey my club would have suited and we have a club trial this Sunday nr Box Hill. I'm sure someone will be along from the Kent area soon enough. Google North Kent Trials Combine and it should give you a start.
  18. Tryals Shop in the USA used to be the importer and were very helpful when I had my climber
  19. I do/have Pug 307 SW Renault Laguna Estate Vauxhall Vectra V6 estate (caravan club tow car of the year)
  20. I believe there is an Autistic chap that ride South Midland centre events. He posts on Facebook, but can't for the life of me remember his name. I will try to find out for you. What part of the country are you located?

I own a 2009 280 so may be biased slightly! Owned a 300 before and much prefer the 280. The engine hasn't changed a huge amount from the 2002 pro to date. Both of the above will need rear linkage checking for play. Personally I would go for the 2002 if a pro and in good condition as it is a more modern bike all round.
  22. petert replied to sean65's topic in Gas Gas
The 280 being a 2002 could be an early Pro model with a later type engine, however the early pros suffered with electrical problems. Not the end of the world but worth bearing in mind.
